I do not own Glee or any of the characters created by Ryan Murphy. If I did, we would see way more of Shelby. This story will contain spanking of a teenager. If that's not your thing stop reading now and go read something else.

Chapter 35

Bending forward Shelby began to lightly beat her head on the edge of her desk. "I can't believe she and Santana…" the woman trailed off as Sue stopped Shelby from banging her head any further by wrapping her arms around her and pulling her back into her.

Getting comfortable leaning against Sue, Shelby sighed deeply. "They learned well from you, Sue."

"Don't I know it, Shelby. Part of me is so damned proud of those two, the other part, well, I'm thinking grounding them is just a start."

Shelby began to laugh at that pronouncement and slowly turned to look into the taller woman's eyes, "To think Sue Sylvester is advocating a punishment for the type of behavior she herself wanted to instill in those two…."

"I knew this would come back to bite me in the ass." Sue mumbled. "So what do we do, Ethel?"

Looking at Sue in surprise Shelby wrinkled her forehead for a moment before hugging the woman. "Thank you."

"For what?"

"For asking what we do. Not just me."

"I told you, Shelby," Sue paused. "I'm in this for the long haul. And now that Rachel is down two dads I guess it's time for me to step up a little more. And if that means lecturing her before any punishment is given out, well, so be it."

"I guess we bring Rachel in here and let her know that we know exactly what she and Santana have done." Shelby stood and moved to the door of her office. "Rachel, come here please." She called waiting until she heard her daughter heading down the stairs.

"Yeah?" Rachel was in her pajamas but clearly had done nothing else to get ready for bed as she still had on her makeup, a sure sign she wasn't ready for bed. "What did you…" Rachel trailed off as she followed her mother into the office. "Coach? What are you doing here?"

"I came to hear your side of things, Rachel. Seems Coach Beastie thinks I helped the two of you. I told her I wouldn't do that. She and I have a long standing truce between the Cheerios and her football jocks. They don't date and knock up my cheerleaders and I let them leave high school alive."

"Seems like a good truce," Shelby commented rolling her eyes.

"It's worked for us." Sue acknowledged.

Rachel slowly sat in the chair where her mother indicated and wondered if Sue knew the whole truth. Deciding to play dumb Rachel looked at the women in front of her and smiled. "So what can I do for you?"

"You can tell Sue what happened in the hallway before you and Santana decided to visit the boys' locker room." Shelby returned Rachel's smile and perched on the edge of her desk. "Go on." She encouraged.

"Well, Coach," Rachel began. "It's like this…" As Rachel finished her story she looked happily at the Coach and her mother. "So as you can see, they really did deserve what happened. But," Rachel looked at Sue. "I have promised Mama that before taking matters into my hands again that I will speak to someone else who might be able to help me. Anything else?" Rachel asked as she started to stand.

"Not so fast, Rachel." Shelby motioned for Rachel to sit once more. "I think that Sue has something to share. Billie Jean if you will," Shelby stood behind her daughter with her hands on Rachel's shoulders.

Feeling Rachel tense as Sue turned the monitor around Rachel was too aware of her mother's hands on her shoulders. "What's this?"

"This, Rachel," Sue began. "Is the only major flaw in your sad, sad story. And what kills me is that you would have gotten away with it if only you had been sure to remember rule number eight."

"Always get the backup video?" Rachel asked. "But we did. We got the…" Rachel stopped talking at the look the coach was giving her.

"And yes, my young one, that is part of rule eight. What is the rest of that rule?"

"Motherfu…"

"Rachel Barbra Corcoran!" Shelby's voice cut through the room. "Do not finish that word."

"We forgot the backup of the backup," Rachel then looked at her hands and began to mutter under her breath. "Santana, going to kill, she promised…" Rachel trailed off as she felt the pressure on her shoulders increase.

"Yes, Rachel, you forgot the backup of the backup. Now, shall we see what really happened?" Sue pressed the play button as Rachel's attempts to slide down in her chair were thwarted by her mother's hands still on her shoulders. Rachel could do nothing but watch the video in horror. As it ended the girl closed her eyes and groaned. "I can explain." She tried.

"How exactly can you explain Kurt in that outfit?" Shelby asked. "I mean, even I thought he was a girl from the way he looked. And even though those were very lewd comments from the football players there was no reason to set them up that way."

"Yes there was!" Rachel protested. "They are constantly saying things to the girls, or Kurt, so we decided to get even. The fact that they thought Kurt was a girl and said those things to him proves what they do every day."

"And what was the purpose of Kurt dressing like one of the finest painted ladies in the red light district?" Sue asked.

"To get it on tape. We wanted to show it to them and get them to stop doing that to us all the time." Rachel glared at the cheerleading coach. "But they didn't care. Thought it was a big laugh that they hit on a guy dressed like that."

"So you decided…" Shelby moved to the edge of her desk again. "to get even."

"Yep." Rachel took a deep breath. "And I'm not sorry. Not one bit. Those jackasses got what they deserved." Seeing her mother's eyes and Sue's narrow Rachel tried one last trick. "And I'll remind you, Mama, that if you hadn't thrown us in the Sue Sylvester Saturday School from Hell then Santana and I wouldn't even know how to do these things!"

"So it's my fault?" Sue asked quietly. "Rachel, do you really feel that this debacle you and Santana chose to take on is my fault?" Sue stood and came around Shelby's desk leaning on it heavily. "Please explain how any of this is my fault, Rachel." Sue's voice was surprisingly calm and Rachel gulped.

"Well, uh, you see, it's like…"

"Sue, I do believe you've rendered Rachel speechless." Shelby quipped as she watched her daughter squirm. "Rachel, answer Sue."

"I'd rather not, Mama." Rachel finally looked up from the floor. "I believe I'd rather not incriminate myself any further in this endeavor."

"First good choice you've made all day," Shelby said. "Please go to your room and wait while we decide what to do with you."

"What?" Rachel's eyes went back and forth between her mother and the cheerleading coach. "What do you mean that both of you will decide my fate?"

Moving forward, Sue bent down and took Rachel's chin in her hand, "Listen up, E.J. I've said this before but I will say it again. I am in this relationship with your mother for the long haul, whatever that may be. You used things that I taught you to aide in this prank and though I am proud of how well you've learned; you also knew what you were doing was wrong. Therefore, I am part of the decision making process on what happens to you."

"Mama?" Rachel looked up as Sue released her chin.

"Sue's right, Rachel. She's in this and you're going to have to remember that. Now please go to your room until we call for you."

"Unbelievable!" Rachel stood and glared at both women. "Just because I no longer have any fathers doesn't mean I need two mothers!" She huffed before storming out of her mother's office to her room.

Hearing Rachel's bedroom door slam Shelby sighed and laid her head on Sue's shoulder. "Are you sure about this, Sue?"

"More sure than I have ever been about anything, Shelby." Sue replied gently kissing Shelby's forehead. "Now, shall we figure out what to do with Rachel before or after she has time to plot her next great escape?"
