The Konoha Orphan Three decided that tonight would be a great night to go out to eat. They didn't go out very often, but it was a really lovely night. Usually when they walked, Naruto would walk backwards as he talked to Shanan and Sasuke about his day. Even if they had been with him and already knew what he was going to say. But it was always more entertaining when he retold it anyway.

"And then Kakashi Sensei came out of the ground, like 'where did you come from' and grabbed my ankle and Sasuke jumped down from a tree onto his head to try and help me. Sakura spent the whole time hiding in a bush and-" Naruto had bumped right into Shikamaru Nara.

"Hey, what- Oh, it's you guys," he said lazily.

"Hey! What d'ya mean 'you guys'," Naruto started yelling.

"You bumped into me, you know and I didn't mean anything by anything. Are you guys going to grab a bite to eat?" he asked disinterestedly.

Naruto started salivating immediately at the thought of it. "Yeah, we're getting Ichiraku Ramen..." he drew the words out as if he were in love.

Shikamaru seemed to be going in the same direction, so Naruto started walking with him as they discussed their favorite types of ramen.

As Shanan and Sasuke walked alone together now, he accidentally bumped his hand into hers so she grabbed his without really thinking. Once she did, she almost let go out of embarrassment, but decided against it. She wanted to hold his hand, even if it made her blush. And when he realized she wasn't letting go, he gripped her hand as firmly as he could as he smiled shyly at her.

Naruto looked back at them and saw that they were now holding hands and that both of them were blushing pretty hard, so he ran back over to them as Shikamaru was in the middle of a sentence. "What's going on here, you guys? Are you dating now," he teased.

Shanan and Sasuke looked at each other and then away, but tightened their grip on one another's hands even more.

"We're just holding hands, dummy," Sasuke finally said to him.

"Sasuke," Shanan said in a "be nice" tone.

"Hey, I don't care if you guys wanna be boyfriend and girlfriend," he shrugged. "But I better never catch you making out in my apartment," he said as he stuck his tongue out and ran back towards Shikamaru in order to avoid anything Sasuke might do to him for having said that.

Sasuke stepped forward quickly and considered chasing after him, but didn't want to let go of Shanan's hand.

They continued to walk quietly for a bit before Sasuke looked over at Shanan thoughtfully. "Hey, Shanan…" he said quietly. "Are we- we're too young to date, aren't we?" He hated asking, he was afraid of the answer. He had waited so long just to know if Shanan liked him, he thought as soon as he knew that she did, they'd be together.

She glanced over at him, surprised at his bold question. But, she did think they should wait just a little while. Maybe. "I think so, but I don't know."

"I wanna date you, though," he said thoughtfully. "I-" he stopped walking, which made her stop too as she looked back at him. "I wanna marry you someday."

Shanan wasn't sure what to say to that at first, but it made her happy to hear and she knew she was still blushing. She finally went up to him and gave him a hug and said, "That would make me really happy, Sasuke." She closed her eyes and squeezed him tight as she smiled from ear to ear.

She would be lucky to grow up and marry him. He was fierce and genuine and fun and sweet. He also gave off this bad boy quality that she knew wasn't the real him, but she liked it anyway. It was cute and reminded her of the fact that she was one of the only people that knew him, which made her feel special.

Sasuke was floating on air just knowing that Shanan returned his feelings. The butterflies he usually felt around her had definitely multiplied when she hugged him and said that she would be happy to marry him.

Naruto spent the rest of the night giggling and they spent the rest of the night smiling. Maybe they weren't old enough to date just yet, but they both knew that it would happen someday.
