Notes: This one I concocted in thirty minutes…got it from reading too many RoyxRiza (FMA) stories… need to get it off my system.

A Longing

Yes, she was longing for it.

Yearning.

But why? What was there to long for?

Ruki looked at Guilmon's hideout, out of her friends' sights, in order for them not to see that look… one she was not able to erase off her face. It was not appropriate for everyone, anyone, especially him, to see her with that kind of look on her face.

It was already a month since that incident. And she couldn't forget every single second, moment, of that particular incident. Of course, many like these happened to her, but it wasn't the same.

It wasn't the same when it involved him.

Thirty days ago, Ryo Akiyama offered her his heart.

Not in the literal sense, mind you. The Digimon King, Cyberdramon's Tamer, and the all around pain in her neck, confessed to her, the ever elusive Ice Queen, Tamer of a kitsune, and his beloved pumpkin (how sweet and how sappy it may be), of his secret love – and oh how she was starting to detest the word – for her.

But what did she say? What did she do?

She turned him down. It wasn't easy for her part to do that. It simply wasn't the time and place. She wasn't ready. They weren't ready to deal with everything that will come after.

And until now, she wasn't able to get over her dad leaving her and her mom. Or at least she thought so.

There was that phobia that she thought that if she follows through what her mom did, or close to it, she would end up in the same position as her mom now. It was painful to be in her position as daughter, how much would it be if she were Rumiko?

But looking at Ryo, it seem like everything about him is perfect…from the looks to the brains, he really is the perfect catch, as most girls would quote. One look from him and all her fears were swept away, as if he was saying 'It'll be alright, I swear'.

And this man gave her his heart.

Was it too late for her?

Could she still bring those difficult words she said that day back inside her mouth and prevent it from going out like it did then?

She glanced back at the group for a moment, to him, for a moment.

Only for her to find him staring at her.

He was staring at her with that same intensity he had in his eyes the day he confessed to her.

She looked away, fearing of what may happen if she wouldn't.

He smiled when she did. 'I can wait, Ruki…I can wait.'
