Shanan woke up to Kakashi standing there in his sweatpants and no shirt, holding a cup of coffee and a plate of toast for her.

"Good morning," he said to her, smiling softly.

She was still naked under the blanket as she sat up and kept herself covered.

"Good morning. Thank you," she said as she took them from him and moved to lean with her back against the wall.

Kakashi grabbed a small bundle of clothes and set them in front of her before he grabbed his cup and plate and sat next to her.

"You got me something to wear?" she asked, a bit surprised as she took her first bite.

"I didn't want you to feel awkward about going to your room to get something," he told her.

Shanan smiled at him and his thoughtfulness. "Thanks," she said with a slight blush.

Kakashi took a few sips of his coffee as he looked straight ahead, deep in thought.

"So... Do we still have to sleep in our own rooms? And not kiss?" he asked tentatively.

Shanan leaned over and gave him a quick kiss to answer his question before actually answering.

"No. My rules were stupid. I'm sorry. I'm sorry we've slept apart for so long. I didn't know how hard it actually was for you," she said.

Kakashi thought for a moment.

"I'm sorry I said your rules were stupid. They were, but I'm sorry I said it how I did," he said, smirking at her.

Shanan chuckled a little and he continued delicately.

"I missed falling asleep holding you. I missed you holding me. I missed when you ran your fingers through my hair. I missed when you would sing to me in the dark. I can't tell you how many times I thought about going in and waking you up and asking you to sing me to sleep. Or just wishing you would come in here and climb in next to me because you just needed me."

Shanan felt bad. She thought about those things often and she missed them too. But she forced herself to stay in her room every night because she thought that it was the appropriate thing to do.

"I would've sang to you if you had come in," she said softly. She felt really guilty.

Kakashi grabbed her hand.

"Don't worry about it anymore," he said as he kissed her hand. "You'll be in here from now on and, honestly, I should've said something sooner."

She gave him a half smile, a bit relieved, but she still felt bad about their lost time.

"I love you," he assured her. "I always have."

She leaned her head back against the wall and looked into his eyes as she thought for a second. "I've always loved you too, Kakashi. Even before I knew I did… I love you very much."

Kakashi smiled and took a bite of his toast.

"Good."

Once they finished their breakfast, Shanan put her shirt on and got up to finish getting dressed as Kakashi grabbed his sketchbook.

She took their dishes to the kitchen and came back and sat next to him.

"What are you about to draw?" she asked curiously.

"Oh... just some scenes from last night that I'd like to remember," he told her nonchalantly.

She looked at him incredulously.

"Are you being serious right now?" she asked, a bit amused.

"Yes. I've never had the opportunity to draw you like this. But don't worry, I think you'll like it," he assured her.

"But... are you gonna draw yourself too?"

Kakashi slowly looked over at her with an eyebrow raised.

"Do you want me to?" he asked, completely delighted as he smiled at her. "Because I could draw you an entire book of just me if you like." He chuckled.

Shanan considered for a moment. She was definitely intrigued at the idea.

"I mean, I wouldn't say no to that," she said as she shrugged and laughed.

"Good, then you won't be upset if I keep a book of just you, too," he said excitedly.

"Don't you have plenty of those already?"

"Yes... but not in this context," he said as he raised his eyebrows suggestively a few times.

Shanan pushed him gently as she settled back into her spot.

"Ah... you messed me up," he said as he gently erased the line she'd made him draw.

They stayed in bed all day while he drew several pictures of the two of them together and Shanan sang whatever song he requested until she fell asleep.

He woke her up after about an hour and sat behind her as he put his head on her shoulder and reached around her to show her what he'd drawn so far.

Shanan stared for a moment as she examined the first one.

It was the two of them laying down, Kakashi on top of her, looking into her eyes as he kissed her gently.

"This looks so... tender and beautiful." She started to choke up a little. "I thought these would be pervy and you just... Is this when you told me you loved me?" she asked as the tears welled.

Kakashi nodded gently as he squeezed his arms around her torso and let her flip through on her own.

She flipped through and admired each one. He made them look so elegant and tasteful.

There was one of her by the bathroom in her towel, staring at him. Apparently her eyes had been as fixated on him as his had been on her.

He drew himself holding her up against the door. It looked so effortless and she looked like she was in heaven. Which she had been.

He drew her sitting on his bed. And she didn't know how, but he somehow managed to capture so much of the lust in her eyes that she had been feeling.

He drew them after he'd sat up on his knees. And even that one was tasteful. He looked so strong and graceful at the same time. So much passion in his eyes as he looked down at her.

She blushed really hard at the one of just her with her arms over her head. She knew he'd liked that view and her hair was a mess, but he made it look so flawless and detailed.

"You have such a good memory. These are so... perfect," she told him as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Kakashi had been worried that she wouldn't like them, even though she had always enjoyed all of his drawings, but these pictures specifically felt like the most important ones he'd ever done. So he was really worried about her reaction this time and grateful for her praise.

As soon as she gave her honest feedback, he kissed the back of her shoulder and rested his chin on her.

"I'm glad you like them," he whispered shyly.

Shanan swallowed hard as she closed the book and turned to look at him. She was suddenly thankful the no kissing rule had been abolished. He really deserved it.

As she turned around to kiss him, she had a feeling that he would probably spend all of tomorrow drawing tonight too.

Kissing was going to lead to a lot more for a while.
