Chapter 2: Going to Perim
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Wow, you guys really love this story. I'm impressed. Anyway to answer some of your questions I am doing canon I just brought in Roxas a little bit before Tom arrived in Chaotic and yes I will be adding characters from other shows in this. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves in the Crellen Drome, as Roxas was facing off in against a girl with blonde hair, a purple jacket, white shirt and jeans. This was Mai Valentine.
"Joey says you're pretty good, but let's see how well you do against me." Mai said.
"Hopefully I can be a challenge." Roxas said.
In the waiting area, Erika and Joey were sitting down watching this.
"Boy Roxas is gonna have his work cut out for him with Mai. She's gonna whoop him." Joey said.
"Way to stick by your pal, Joey." Erika narrows her eyes.
"And Mai's my girlfriend. Sorry but Mai's gonna win that battle every time." Joey said.
"No way, I've been helping Roxas for the past few days." Erika said.
"Well you're not exactly tutor of the year." Joey said causing Erika to bonk him on the head.
Roxas had been coming to Chaotic for almost a week and he was starting to get the hang of things.
'Hmm Tangath Toborn has been good to me but that's too obvious. I need another creature.' Roxas thought when he sees a red creature with green eyes. "Hey this guy kinda reminds me of Lea, Barath Beyond. Alright Lea, wherever you are I'm gonna bring the fire for this battle." Roxas said setting everything up.
"Players, lock your decks." The computer said as both players clicked revealing Barath Beyond vs a pink fairy creature.
"Hmm an Underworlder? Didn't expect that." Mai said.
"Helps to have a few surprises don't you think?" Roxas said.
"MadamHarpie you have the attack." The computer said as Mai spun the randomizer. "Glacier Plains."
"Ooh sucks to be you. Quadore attacks Barath Beyond!" Mai said as she transforms into Quadore and Roxas turns into Barath Beyond.
"I'm gonna fly circles around you." Quadore said.
"Not if I burn those wings of yours." Barath Beyond said as a light engulfs them.
In Glacier Plains, Quadore was flying through the air looking for any sign of her opponent.
"Hmm where are you?" Quadore asks when suddenly from the below three Flame Orbs flew towards her.
Acting quickly Quadore flew out of the way dodging them.
"Missed me!" Quadore said as she saw Barath Beyond firing multiple fire attacks trying to shoot her out of the sky.
At the arena, Joey and Erika were watching.
"Roxas can try all his wants but unless he can get in the air it's gonna be hard to hit one of Mai's flyers." Joey said.
"The match just started Joey stop kissing up to Mai. Roxas still has plenty of chances to fight back." Erika narrows her eyes.
"You look cold let me knock some of that snow off you. Wind Slash!" Quadore said firing a blast of wind at Barath Beyond who slides across the ice dodging the attacks.
"Inferno Claws!" Barath Beyond said firing balls of fire at Quadore knocking her backwards into the air.
"Ash Torrent!" Barath Beyond said unleashing a storm of charcoal at Quadore.
Acting quickly Quadore summons her Pyroblaster battlegear and blasts the attack away.
"Sorry hot head, but I'm packing heat too." Quadore smirks cocking her blaster and aiming it right at him.
"Uh oh." Barath Beyond said as Quadore fired a blast of fire knocking him backwards crashing through some ice.
'A fairy with a flamethrower? There's no way Lea would believe me if I told him this.' Roxas thought.
"Time for a power boost!" Holding out his hands, the Gauntlets of Might appeared on Barath Beyond's arms.
"Oh yeah that'll give Barath's moves an extra punch." Erika grins.
"Come on Mai." Joey said.
As Quadore fired at him Barath Beyond held up his hands and fired glowing beams countering the fire attacks and blasting Quadore into the snow.
"Gotcha now!" Extending his arms, Barath Beyond grabs Quadore and throws her towards a cave sending her smashing against some ice.
As Quaodre looks up she saw Barath Beyond charging towards her.
"Song of Embernova!" Quadore said using a mugician as a melody plays a bright light engulfs the sky surprising Barath Beyond as it blasts him sending him crashing into a large glacier.
Grabbing her Pyroblaster, Quadore flew in ready to win this match.
"Come out Roxas. Come out come out where ever you are." Quadore said.
Suddenly in the corner under a large heap of snow it started to glow orange as flames erupted out freeing Barath Beyond from the cold surprising her.
"Torrent of Flame!" Barath Beyond said blasting Quadore with a powerful fire attack sending her out of the glacier and backed up towards a mountain.
Climbing out Barath Beyond looks to the mountain and created a flame orb but using the Gauntlets of Might he pushes them flat into two flaming disks that resembled Lea's Chakrams.
Throwing it with all his might the flaming saw hit the top of the mountain causing it to rumble.
"Huh?" Quadore looks up and gasps to see a giant avalanche come down on her causing her to be coded.
Appearing back in the drome, Mai looks to see Barath Beyond turn back into Roxas.
"Well, Roxas that was pretty cool." Mai said as they walked out.
"Thanks you too. Where'd you get that Mugic?" Roxas asks.
"Scanned it on my last trip to Kiru City." Mai said.
"The location card?" Roxa asks confused as they arrived at the main center.
"Yeah the Underworlders were getting antsy and the Song of Embernova is like one best go to Mugic against them." Mai explains.
"There they are." Joey said as Mai walks over to him and gives him a peck on the cheek.
"Thanks sadly Roxas just had better." Mai said.
"That last fire move or yours was pretty cool. What was that?" Erika asks.
"Just something I learned from a friend." Roxas shrugs.
"So Roxas, you've been hanging around Chaotic lately, when are you planning on going scanning?" Joey asks.
"Scanning?" Roxas asks confused.
"Wait you haven't gone to Perim yet?" Mai asks.
"I've been a little busy. Erika's been teaching me the rules." Roxas said.
"Oh Roxas you have not lived until you've been to the Mipedian desert." Joey said.
"Yeah if you wanna die of thirst." Erika said.
"Maybe we can start somewhere easy." Roxas cringed.
"Good call. You guys wanna come with us?" Erika asks.
"Nah I promised Mai I'd take her to Forest of Life." Joey said.
"See ya round Roxas. Be sure to keep your scanner on you at all times." Mai said.
"I guess it's just you and me again." Roxas said.
"Try to keep up." Erika smirks leading him to a platform. "Alright first you bring up the locations on your scanner."
"Like this." Roxas clicks and pictures of location cards appeared.
"Yep since it's your first time porting to Perim let's start easy. You got the Riverlands in your deck?" Erika asks flipping through her scanner.
"Yep right here." Roxas said showing her the card.
"Alright now click." Erika said as she and Roxas were teleported away.
At the Riverlands, Erika and Roxas arrive surprising him.
"Wow, what is going on?" Roxas asks looking around.
"We're in Perim, the real one." Erika smirks.
"So wait, all those cards that I've been using are—"
"Real." Erika nods.
"This place just gets crazier by the minute." Roxas said causing Erika to giggle.
"Week in Chaotic and you're still such a newb." Erika smirks.
"Oh thanks." Roxas glares causing her to laugh.
"Come on let's find you something to scan. If you find any battlegear, mugic, creatures or even locations you can use your scanner to scan them and make them into cards to improve your deck." Erika explains.
"That sounds pretty cool." Roxas said.
"Yeah but the problem is you can only scan so much before you gotta go back to Chaotic and save them. Otherwise, people would be in Perim all the time scanning everything they saw." Erika said.
"Sweet." Roxas said looking at his scanner.
"Alright now let's be on the lookout. There are quite a few creatures in Perim who are strong and some that really don't like Chaotic players." Erika warns.
"Don't worry if we run into a creature, I'll handle it." Roxas said.
"Oh look who's full of confidence now." Erika smirks. "What you gonna fight off a creature all by yourself?"
"Yes." Roxas simply replies.
"Roxas you are a weird one but I like you." Erika said as she walked down to the water.
"Thanks I guess." Roxas said following her.
Little did either of them know something was in the waters down below.
"Gotta admit being here in real life is way different than the drome versions." Roxas said.
"Yep it's pretty cool." Erika said when Roxas heard something in the tree area behind them.
Looking over he saw something hiding in the trees. Roxas turns and was about to walk over when Erika saw some bubbles in the water.
"Hey Roxas there's something here." Erika points getting his attention.
Looking to the middle of the water, Roxas and Erika looked to it.
"Scanners at the ready." Erika said as they ran behind some rocks and took out their scanners ready to scan whatever was underwater.
Suddenly bursting out of the water was a purple creature with a muscular upper body but a skeleton tail for a lower body, this was Skreeth.
"Skreeth? Wait I think that guy is an Underworlder." Roxas said.
"He is, he must be here to spy." Erika whispers.
"Hmm Nauthilax's information was right. Wait until Chaor hears about this." Skreeth grins.
"Now's our chance." Erika holds up her scanner and clicks the button and when she does a card of Skreeth appears on her scanner. "And that's how it's done."
Roxas was about to scan Skreeth when a bolt of lighting zapped the water near Skreeth causing him to scream in pain as the explosion destroyed the rocks they were hiding behind.
"Go back to where you came from Underworlder!" A female voice said as at the shadow leaps out of the forest revealing her to be a pink skinned humanoid creature with white armor and light blue hair. In her hand was a Cyclance, this was Aivenna.
"Oh great Intress' little pity project." Skreeth glares as Aivenna aimed her Cyclance at him.
"Say that again. I dare you." She glares. "Intress told me about your "secret" path and she sent me to send you packing."
"Well hate to break it to you, but I'm not going anywhere! Hail Storm!" Skreeth said firing balls of hail at Aivenna who jumps onto the rocks to dodge the attack.
"Power Pulse!" Aivenna fires glowing green fists at Skreeth which break through Hail Storm and smash into Skreeth knocking him down into the water.
"Whoa, she's good." Roxas said impressed.
"Well don't just stand there. Let's try and scan her." Erika said as she ran around to some rocks across from them.
"I don't know if that's the best idea." Roxas said trying to stop her when some rocks flew towards Erika but Roxas pulls her out of the way just in time.
"Whoa, that was close." Roxas said.
"Thanks for the save Roxas. I didn't see that." Erika said.
As Skreeth attacked Aivenna swung her Cyclance swatting him away.
"Back off Underworlder! Go back where you came from!" Aivenna growls.
"Frost Blight!" Skreeth yells firing a gust of cold wind freezing the water towards Aivenna forcing her to jump back.
"Flame Orb!" Aivenna throws a ball of fire but Skreeth dive
"Erika over here!" Roxas said as she hopped across the stones so they could get away.
However, coming out of the water, Skreeth saw the two Chaotic players trying to get away.
"Where do you think you're going?" Skreeth calls out getting their attention. "Riptide!"
Acting quickly Roxas tackles Erika into the water to avoid the attack.
"Those poor humans." Aivenna cringed seeing Skreeth had them right in his element.
Resurfacing Erika gasps for air. "Roxas?!" She calls out as he resurfaces nearby.
"Over here!" Roxas calls out when Aivenna leaps onto some nearby rocks.
"Take my hand!" She said surprising them. "Hurry!"
As Erika reached out to grab the bottom part of the Cyclance Roxas looked to see Skreeth swimming towards her.
Instincts kicking in Roxas moved in just as Skreeth leaped out of the water towards them.
"LOOK OUT!" Holding out his hand everyone saw a flash of light appear and something whacked Skreeth in the face knocking him back.
Looking in shock both Aivenna and Erika saw Roxas climb onto a rock with the Oathkeeper Keyblade in his hand taking a fighting stance as Skreeth resurfaced.
"You'll pay for that human." Skreeth growls.
"Bring it on you walking skeleton." Roxas glares.
Letting out a screech Skreeth leaped in to attack Roxas but he jumps to another rock dodging the attack before moving in and attacking causing Skreeth to scream in pain as Roxas went on the attack hitting him again and again.
"Is that human companion of yours fighting against an Underworlder and winning?" Aivenna asks in shock as Erika climbed out of the water.
"Roxas." Erika said in awe as she watched Roxas kick Skreeth in the face knocking him onto the rocks.
Skreeth tried to make into the water when Roxas grabbed his skeleton tail shocking him.
Spinning him around Roxas lets go causing Skreeth to smash into a boulder before falling into the water.
"And stay out!" Roxas yells as Skreeth swam away with his life.
Dropping her jaw in awe, Erika looks at Roxas he turns around and time seemed to slow down as she saw his amazing smile. "Erika?"
"Yes Roxas?" Erika blushes lost in his eyes.
"You okay Erika?" Roxas asks snapping her out of her fantasy.
"Huh? Oh uh yeah. I'm fine." Erika said snapping out of it before they both looked at each other to see their clothes were soaking wet and her pink shirt was clinging to her skin causing her to turn bright red before she put her hands over her to cover herself up.
"I must say for a Chaotic Player you appear to be quite the fighter. I've never met a human who has his own battlegear before." Aivenna said pointing to his keyblade.
"Oh uh yeah, I've had this on me for a long time." Roxas said holding it up.
"Hmm very interesting. What tribe made this weapon?" Aivenna said looking at it.
"Uh sorry but this one is mine. Can't say." Roxas said pulling it away.
"I see. What is your name?" She narrows her eyes.
"I'm Roxas and this is my friend Erika." He said.
"You were awesome against Skreeth, he didn't stand a chance." Erika said.
"Thank but it appears your friend did more fighting than I did. You helped me protect this location. Is there any way I can thank you?" Aivenna asks.
"Well…" Roxas pauses to think when Erika nudges him before gesturing to her. "Oh right. Can I scan you?"
Smiling Aivenna nods as Roxas holds up his scanner and scans Aivenna allowing her card to appear. "Thank you." Roxas said.
"I hope our paths cross again humans." Aivenna said.
"Maybe." Roxas said.
"Come on Roxas, let's get outta here." Erika said as she and Roxas ported out.
"You know for a human he wasn't half bad with a sword. The only other creature I know who's that good with a sword is Tangath Toborn." Aivenna said before walking away to report back to Intress and Maxxor.
In Chaotic, Roxas and Erika were sitting at a table.
"Okay Roxas, I have to know. What and how?" Erika asks.
"You uh wouldn't believe me if I told you." Roxas said nervously.
"I just saw you fight off a creature with a giant key that appeared out of nowhere. Try me." Erika said.
"Uh well how should I put this?" Roxas said nervously. "I have a special weapon that's called a Keyblade, well actually I have two of them. It's a very rare and powerful weapon that only a select few can have. They are very powerful but they can also open anything locked."
"Roxas, that's amazing. That's like the ultimate weapon." Erika said excited.
"I know but unfortunately the two I have only work for me. No one else can use them. Keyblades are very picky over who can use them." Roxas explains.
"That important huh?" Erika asks.
"Very." Roxas said.
"Well I guess I should thank you, for saving my life back there." Erika said.
"It was no trouble. I wouldn't be a very good friend to let you get hurt after everything you've done for me." Roxas said.
"What are you saying I can't protect myself?" Erika grumbles.
"No way. I know you're tough. I just didn't want anything to happen to you." Roxas smiles causing Erika to look him in awe and blush softly.
"Well…thank you." Erika said.
"I'm gonna head home. If you see Joey or Mai tell them I left." Roxas said getting up and walked away.
As he did Erika looked at Roxas and smiles letting out a sigh. "Roxas you are something else."
