Chapter 3: Clash of Blades

Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Now this was a fun one to do. I think you'll really be surprised by who I have in this one. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.

We find ourselves in Twilight Town, at Roxas' place. In his room, Roxas was loading a backpack full of supplies for a trip to Perim.

Looking inside, Roxas checked to make sure he had everything before looking up to his Organization XIII coat.

'Hmm the last time I used my keyblade I got a lot of attention from Erika and Aivenna. If more people saw me with my keyblade it might cause trouble.' Roxas thought as he walked up and put his coat in his backpack.

"Better be safe than sorry. I might need to make a quick escape." Roxas said putting his backpack on and clicking his scanner.

In Chaotic, Roxas teleported in to see Erika at a table looking at her cards.

"Hmm maybe this one, or this one?" Erika said flipping through them.

"Hey what's got you so focused?" Roxas asks walking over.

"I have a match today." Erika said.

"What? Aw man I was gonna ask if you wanna go scanning with me." Roxas said.

"Sorry Roxas, maybe some other time. He challenged me just before you showed up." Erika said.

"Challenge?" Roxas asks.

"Yeah players can challenge other players to drome matches. A lot easier than waiting for the dromes to pair you up." Erika explains.

"Noted." Roxas said.

"So where you heading to?" Erika asks.

"Forest of Life. Figured I'd find something in those woods worth scanning." Roxas shrugs.

"Look at you, finally getting into the Chaotic groove." Erika smirks playfully nudging him.

"You know I don't think I've ever seen you battle before." Roxas said.

"Because I've been too busy making sure you don't screw up." Erika said nudging him again but Roxas caught her arm.

"Nice try." Roxas smirks causing her to giggle.

"Well I better get going. Wish me luck." Erika said getting up.

"You got this." Roxas said.

"Thanks." Erika smiles walking away.

Ever since Erika saw Roxas take on Skreeth at the Riverlands she thought he was the most amazing person in the world and really liked hanging out with him.

In the Forest of Life, Roxas ported in to see the beautiful, lush location.

"Wow, this place is pretty cool." Roxas said gripping his backpack and walking into the forest.

"Erika said that this place is a great start to finding some decent scans. I hope she's right." Roxas said.

Entering the drome, Erika saw a teenage boy her age with dark skin, black hair and a red and black jacket, this was Miles Morales.

"Glad to see you made it." Miles said.

"I don't back down from a fight." Erika said as they put their scanners in and brought out their decks.

'Alright time to bring it. I need to bring in some good Mugic for this battle and my favorite locations.' Erika thought moving her creatures around.

"Players lock your decks."

Erika and Miles click their buttons to reveal a 3 on 3 team.

On Erika's side we have Gespedan and Owis in the front and Intress in the back while Miles had Junda, Ibbian and Odu-Bathax.

"LadyMuge because Danian-Man was the one who challenged you, you will have first attack."

Erika spins the wheel and the first location was the Riverlands. "The Riverlands!"

"Yes. Owis attacks Ibbian!" Erika said touching the icon and she transformed into a white warrior with antlers while Miles turned into an ant warrior in armor.

"I'm gonna crush you." Ibbian said.

"We'll see bug boy." Owis said as they were transported.

In the Riverlands, Owis was hopping from stone to stone looking for any sign of Ibbian.

Reaching to his side Owis looked through a telescope and in the tree area Ibbian was on the lookout for him causing Owis to smirk.

Down below Ibbian was walking down the path looking for any sign of Owis when he closed his eyes listening for something when he suddenly heard a scurrying noise in the bushes.

"Pebble Storm!" Ibbian said firing stones into the bushes knocking Owis into a tree. "You'll have to do better than that to get past my powerful Danian senses."

"Ugh Danian-Man is accurate." Owis growls when a Vlaric Shard appears on Ibbian.

"This should add an extra sting!" Ibbian said firing stones at Owis knocking him into the water.

As Owis' energy dropped, Erika cringed.

'Alright Ibbian is strong, but unfortunately, I know how to fight back.' Erika thought.

Ibbian leaps out of the forest to see a blue light shining from the water.

"What the?" Ibbian asks when Owis burst out of the water.

"Riptide!" Owis said blasting Ibbian with a torrent of water knocking him back and allowing Owis to heal more.

"How are you doing that?" Ibbian asks.

"I gave up one of Owis' mugicians to heal his energy and since I hit you with a water attack the Riverlands heal more of my energy." Owis smiles.

"You can use Mugucians to do that?" Ibbian gasps.

"You bet they can! Flash Kick!" Owis leaps into the air and fires a green blast from his feet knocking Ibbian back.

Ibbian looks to see Owis charging in. Acting quickly he holds up his Vlaric Shard and fires multiple Iron Balls making Owis leap backwards.

Jumping from rock to rock, Owis dodges Ibbians attacks.

"You can't run forever! Vine Snare!" Shooting vines out they tied around Owis' legs preventing him from escaping.

"Frost Blight!" Owis breathes a massive blast of snow making Ibbian stagger back.

"I'm not going down that easy." Owis said as a Mugician's Lyre appears. "Thanks to this handy little instrument I get my Mugician back. Song of GeoNova!"

Using the mugician a melody plays and Ibbian looks up to see a green light envelops him before coding him.

Back in the drome, Owis turns back into Erika.

"And that's why they call me LadyMuge." Erika smirks.

"You really know how to use Mugicians." Miles said impressed.

"This girl has some fight in her." Erika smiles.

"Maybe but now it's my turn." Miles said spinning it.

"The next location…Gloomuck Swamp."

"Ugh gross." Erika cringed.

"Junda attacks Owis!" Miles said as they transformed.

Back in the Forest of Life, Roxas had been walking around for a while but hadn't found anything yet.

"You'd think a place with the name Forest of Life, they would mean something other than plant life." Roxas said.

Walking over to a stump, he sits down and opens a bottle of water and starts to drink it when he suddenly heard a slashing noise.

"What the?" Roxas looks in the direction of the attacks and follows it.

Slowly making his way to a small opening Roxas peeks out from behind a tree and his eyes widen in shock.

In front of him was Tangath Toborn, the REAL Tangath Toborn having a fight against Ulfheddin.

"Rock Wave!" Ulfheddin said but Tangath Tobron leaps to a high tree and swings out of the way.

"Flame Orb!" Tangath Toborn said blasting Ulfheddin to the ground.

Grabbing the Sword of Khy'at, Tangath leaps in.

"Lavalanche!" Ulfheddin fires a stream of lava but before it could hit Tangath stabs his sword into a tree allowing him to swing over the attack and kick Ulfheddin in the face.

"Whoa." Roxas said amazed.

Groaning Ulfheddin looks up to see Tangath Tobron with the sword inches from his face.

"Alright Tangath you win again." Ulfheddin said putting his hands up in surrender.

Smirking Tangath Toborn offers a hand and helps him up.

"You're getting better." Tangath said.

"Not as good as you. You're one of Maxxor's best for a reason." Ulfheddin said.

"Get back to Kiru City and get some rest." Tangath Tobron suggests.

"I'm serious Tangath, you're the model warrior of the Overworld." Ulfeddin said walking away.

"Another easy win." Tangath sighs. 'How can I be at my best if there's no creature who can push me to my limits?'

Nearby, Roxas was about to walk away when he steps on a twig alerting Tangath Toborn.

"Who's there?" Tangath calls out looking in his direction but Roxas quickly hid behind a tree. "Answer me!"

Pausing to think Roxas looks to his backpack and gets an idea.

"Come on out you coward!" Tangath Toborn said as he heard footsteps.

"Don't hurt me. I mean you no harm." A figure said emerging from the shadows.

Looking ahead Roxas was wearing his Organization XIII coat with his hood over his face.

"What kind of creature are you?" Tangath asks. "You are certainly not an Overworlder."

"No uh I'm not from here." Roxas said.

"Are you an underworlder?" Tangath Toborn narrows his eyes.

"What? No, I-I'm just a traveler." Roxas said.

"Not many creatures have the courage to travel all over Perim by themselves." Tangath Toborn said suspicious turning his back to him. "You must be strong to be able to avoid capture."

"Yeah I'm a pretty strong fighter where I'm from." Roxas said causing Tangath to smirk.

"Is that right? Well then…show me!" Turning around Tangath Toborn threw a Flame Orb at him.

Acting quickly Roxas summons Oblivion in his hands and slices the attack away surprising Tangath as Roxas took a fighting stance.

"That's an impressive looking sword you have there." Tangath Toborn said gripping his sword.

"Why don't I give you an up close look?" Roxas narrows his eyes.

Tangath Toborn looks at this creature and nods eager for something new.

Making the first move, Tangath Toborn moved in and swings his sword but Roxas blocks his attacks Tangath pushes him back.

As Tangath moves his arms Roxas moves in and strikes making Tangath stagger back.

Moving in it was Roxas's turn on the attacks as he smashes his keyblade against Tangath again and again forcing him back.

Growling Tangath swings his foot making Roxas jump back.

"Rock Wave!" Tangath roars slamming his fist into the ground.

"Blizzara!" Roxas said firing a giant chunk of ice cancelling out the earth attack.

'Hmm so he uses water. What else can this creature do?' Tangath Toborn thought.

Moving in Roxas swings his keyblade but Tangath blocks it with his sword.

Using this opening Roxas kicks Tangath in the gut making him stagger back before nailing another kick to the face making Tangath fall to the ground.

Growling Tangath stood up, he finally had someone to give him a challenge.

"Iron Balls!" Tangath Toborn said firing metal balls.

Holding up his keyblade Roxas uses Oblivion to deflect the attacks when Tangath's sword erupted in flames and attacks.

Holding out his free hand sparks of electricity forms. "Thundaga!" Roxas said blasting Tangath from close range knocking him.

'Another element. But what's with the new attack names? I've never heard anyone say those. Where does this creature hail from?' Tangath thought.

'Man it's one thing to fight as Tangath Toborn to fight against him is tough. He's way stronger than Skreeth.' Roxas thought.

Moving in both clash weapons sending sparks flying as each one tries to get the better over the other.

Roaring Tangath Toborn slashes his sword making Roxas tumble backwards.

Leaping up Tangath was about to land a hit when Roxas leaps up and counters knocking him to the ground.

As Tangath Toborn pants heavily Roxas dives in with his keyblade but at the last second Tangath grabs his sword and swats him away knocking him back and knocking his hood off his head.

Standing up Tangath Toborn looks in shock to see Roxas' face.

"You're a human?" Tangath gasps as Roxas groans slowly getting up.

"Yeah I'm a Chaotic Player." Roxas admits.

"I've seen many Chaotic Players, but none have been able to what you just did. How did you come across this power?" Tangath asks as Roxas summons Oblivion back into his hands.

"You're not the only one who has been fighting a long time." Roxas said standing up.

Tangath Toborn looks at him interested, this human, a thing many creatures in Perim had considered nothing more than pests had managed to push him harder than most of his enemies.

"Are there others like you?" Tangath Toborn asks.

"No, right now it's just me." Roxas said before turning around. "I'm sorry about all this. I won't try and scan you."

"Wait!" Tangath Toborn calls out stopping him. "Your name, what is it?"

"Roxas." Roxas said turning to face him.

"Well Roxas." Tangath Toborn walks up to him and Roxas braced himself when he saw Tangath Toborn hold out his hand to shake. "That was the one of the best fights of my life. I can't remember the last time I met an opponent who pushed me like you did."

Really?" Roxas said surprised.

"I'm one of Maxxor's best but because of that he wants me close by in case we are under serious attack. I rarely can find any strong opponents to help me keep myself strong and ready. You're pretty good for a human." Tangath Toborn smiles.

"Wow…thanks." Roxas said shaking his hand.

"Maybe if our past should cross again we can have a rematch." Tangath Toborn offers.

"Maybe but uh can we keep this between us for right now?" Roxas asks.

"I can understand that. Maybe we both can benefit from this." Tangath nods.

"Sure, but don't think I'll go easy on you next time." Roxas smirks causing Tangath to chuckle.

"Word of wisdom Roxas. If you plan to use more of this power, keep that coat with you to hide your face. There are a lot of creatures in Perim, many would love more than anything to get their hands on that power of yours." Tangath Toborn warns.

"I will." Roxas nods taking off his coat and putting it in his backpack. "See ya later Tangath." Roxas said taking out his scanner and teleporting away.

Once he left Tangath Toborn looks to his sword and smiles.

"Finally, a real opponent who can keep me on my toes." Tangath Tobron said eager for round 2.

Back in Chaotic, Roxas ported in and looked to the screens to see the battle with Erika and Miles was in the home stretch.

Gespedan was racing around Odu-Bathax at Mount Pillar dodging his attacks.

"Pebble Storm!" Gespedan said firing multiple rocks at Odu-Bathax knocking him back.

Growling Odu-Bathax looks to see Gespedan racing in.

"Rustoxic!" Odu-Bathax roars spraying acid on the ground causing Gespedan to tumble to the ground. "Rock Wave!"

The rock attack slams into Gespedan sending him crashing into the wall and coded.

In the drome, Erika appeared as Odu-Bathax turns back into Miles.

"Last round, all tied up." Miles smirks.

Growling Erika looks to see she only had Intress and one Mugic left while Miles had Odu-Bathax and two Mugic left.

"Erika." Roxas said appearing on her scanner surprising her.

"Roxas? You came." Erika said.

"Yeah I did. Just in time to see you win." Roxas said.

"Thanks Roxas but I don't know if I will, he's really strong." Erika said.

"Hey, you got this. You taught me everything you knew about being a Chaotic player and I turned out pretty well. If you can do that. You can squash Danian-Man and his oversized bugs easily. You can do it." Roxas smiles.

Blushing softly, Erika looks up to Miles. "My move." Erika said spinning the randomizer.

"The next location…Runic Grove."

"Intress attacks Odu-Bathax!" Erika said as she transformed into a female tiger monster and Miles took on Odu-Bathax again.

"Let's end this." Intress said as they transported to the Runic Grove.

As Odu-Bathax was making his way through the Runic Grove he had a Cyclance at the ready.

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty." Odu-Bathax said looking around. "Where are you hiding?"

"Who's hiding?!" Odu-Bathax looks up to see Intress leap in to deliver a kick but he blocks with his Cyclance forcing Intress to jump back.

Using her Torrent Krinth, Intress fires a powerful water attack knocking Odu-Bathax back.

"Power Pulse!" Odu-Bathax fires a glowing green fist knocking Intress backwards.

Aiming his Cyclance at her Odu-Bathax fires a blast of lighting forcing Intress to leap out of the way.

"Riptide!" Intress said blasting Odu-Bathax with a torrent of water soaking him.

Sweeping one his arms Odu-Bathax knocks Intress to the ground.

"Rock Wave!" Odu-Bathax slams his fist to the ground making a wave of earth.

Acting quickly Intress leaps up into the air to dodge but Odu-Bathax blasts her with a powerful wind attack knocking her off and ledge and hitting the ground hard.

"Come on Erika." Roxas said as Intress struggled to get up.

"You're on last leg Kitty and I still have this! Swarm Song!" Odu-Bathax said using a mugician to cast a mugic but instead the trees around them started to glow brown. "Huh? What's happening?"

"Guess you don't battle in the Runic Grove much. Tribal Mugic doesn't work here." Intress smirks standing tall. "But this does. Fortissimo!" Intress said casting her last mugic causing her to grow to giant size causing Odu-Bathax to drop his jaw in shock.

"Way to go Erika." Roxas whistles impressed.

"Riptide!" Intress roars releasing a giant flood of water washing Odu-Bathax making him smash into a tree and cling for dear life.

When the waters stop Odu-Bathax looks up to see Intress raised her foot up and stomped him like the bug he was coding him.

"Yes!" Roxas cheers.

"The Winner, LadyMuge." The computer said as Intress turned back into Erika.

"Yes!" Erika cheered pumping her fist.

"Oh man I really thought I had you back there." Miles said.

"You did until you messed up your Mugic back there." Erika smiles causing him to chuckle.

At the waiting area, Roxas saw Erika walk over.

"There's the winner." Roxas smiles as she gives him a hug surprising him.

"Thanks for the words of wisdom earlier." Erika smiles.

"Just returning the favor." Roxas said.

"So how was your scan quest?" Erika asks.

"Uh…I didn't scan anything." Roxas said.

"It happens sometimes." Erika said.

"Oh by the way after you won I ported home and got you something." Roxas said opening his bag.

"Ooh what?" Erika asks when Roxas pulls out two sticks of blue ice cream.

"The icing on the cake." Roxas smiles handing her one.

"What's this?" Erika asks.

"It's called Sea Salt Ice Cream." Roxas smiles eating his.

Looking at it Erika took a bite and smiles. "It's salty but sweet too." Erika smiles.

"Really hits the spot doesn't it?" Roxas asks.

"Yeah it does. We should have one of these after every battle." Erika said.

"You know that's not a bad idea, but how would I get Sea Salt Ice Cream here? I only have so much money."

"Easy, we just gotta bring the recipe here and we can have Sea Salt Ice cream whenever we want." Erika said.

"You're telling me this now? We could have been eating this my whole time here." Roxas said causing them to laugh.

"So even though you didn't get a scan did anything interesting happen?" Erika asks.

"Well…I think I made a new friend." Roxas smiles when Miles looks over.

"Hey what's that you got there?" Miles asks.

"Oh Sea Salt Ice Cream. Roxas brought it over." Erika said before standing up. "Roxas this is Miles, he was my opponent today."

"Nice to meet ya." Roxas said.

"Thanks, hey uh don't suppose you can hook me up with one of those ice creams? That looks tasty." Miles said.

"It is." Erika nods.
