Chapter 4: Dance with the Devil
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Now in this one I start bringing in characters from the original series along with a new player to Roxas's group, the Underworld player. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
We find ourselves in the dark and spooky Underworld City as Joey was leading Roxas down the street.
"What do you think of the Underworld, Roxas?" Joey asks.
"Way different than all my trips to the Overworld." Roxas said looking around.
"Yeah that's what everyone says. Underworld and Overworld are way different like light and dark total opposites man." Joey said.
"You don't say. So why do you come here? I thought you liked Mipedians." Roxas said.
"I do but it never hurts to have scans from other tribes in case I need gear or if I ever need to trade for something I do want." Joey said.
"Makes sense, so what are we trying to scan today?" Roxas asks.
"Hang on I struck a deal with a buddy of mine who practically lives in this place. We're meeting up with him right now." Joey said as they turned a corner.
"Were you followed?" A male voice asks.
"Not a chance." Joey said as emerging from the shadows was a teenage boy with spiky red hair and red glasses. "Roxas meet Kaz or as he's known in Chaotic…"
"KidChaor, nice to meet ya." Kaz said holding out his hand.
"Hey I'm Roxas." Roxas said shaking his hand.
"Oh yeah TwilightKing. I've seen a few of your matches." Kaz said.
"So how do you and Joey know each other?" Roxas asks.
"I was trying to scan Toxis when Joey was nearby and the dude grabbed me just before Toxis blasted me." Kaz said
"Good thing I did or you woulda stunk like a dumpster for a week." Joey laughs.
"So we help each other out sometimes. Help us get scans the other needs." Kaz said.
"Sounds like you two are good buddies." Roxas said.
"Yep, so what did you find?" Joey asks turning to Kaz.
"My buddy H'Earring said they've got a huge shipment of Diamond of Vlaric coming in." Kaz said.
"Oh yeah jackpot." Joey said.
"Come on, if we hurry we can scan one." Kaz said as they made their way through town.
Little did they know someone was heading in the same direction as them.
Sneaking into a factory the three of them saw Khybon opening a crate to reveal multiple green diamonds.
"Chaor will be very pleased to have more of these." Khybon said as he pounded the diamonds down into small rocks before looping a chain through them.
"You have one those babies Roxas and any one of your creatures can use Earth attacks." Joey whispers.
"Diamond of Vlaric are very rare in the Underworld so we gotta move fast if we wanna scan them." Kaz said as they took out their scanners.
When Khybon puts the Diamond of Vlaric in a case, he walks away to get more chains.
"Come on." Kaz whispers as they were about to move in when Roxas noticed someone sneaking in from the other side.
"Huh?" Roxas said when the figure rolled between boxes before dropping right by the table beating Joey and Kaz.
"Hey back off we saw them first!" Joey said as the figure scanned the Diamond of Vlaric.
Turning around the three of them saw the figure was a girl with black hair in a bobcut, glasses, a red skirt, and black t-shirt.
"Oh great, a line." She said when Khybon walks in and sees the four humans.
"Hey! Get out!" Khybon said aiming his blaster arm at them and fires a flame orb.
Acting quickly the girl leaps on the table and jumps up grabbing a chain to swing to the front and land by the front door.
'Well she's quick on her feet.' Roxas thought impressed when Joey let out a panicked scream.
"Run Joey! Run!" Kaz yells as Joey bobbed and weaved to avoid getting blasted by Khybon.
Looking around Roxas saw some heavy crates near Khybon as he made his way towards Joey and Kaz.
Moving behind some crates he held out his hand and summoned Oblivion before aiming it and firing a beam of darkness hitting the crates making them fall in front of Khybon blocking his path.
"What the?" Khybon gasps surprised.
Using this opening Roxas ran to the door. "Guys this way!"
Seeing this was their best chance Kaz and Joey sprinted out as fast as they could before porting out.
Back in Chaotic, Kaz and Joey sat down exhausted.
"That was way too close." Joey groans.
"Yeah lucky for us those crates got knocked over." Kaz pants.
"Sorry we didn't get to scan those Diamonds." Roxas said.
"Yeah well I didn't account on DevilSitri hearing about this too." Kaz groans.
"DevilSitri?" Roxas asks.
"That girl we ran into earlier. Her name is Sona Sitri, screenname DevilSitri and she's one of the best players in Chaotic. She's undefeated." Kaz said.
"She's as cold and tough as the Underworlders in her deck." Joey said.
"So no one has ever beaten her?" Roxas asks.
"Nope." Kaz shook his head.
"I heard a rumor that girl is an actual devil that's why she's so good with Underworlders." Joey said.
"Mmm not the craziest thing I've dealt with." Roxas mumbles. "So any chance we'll be able to go back and get those scans?" Roxas asks.
"Doubtful Khybon's totally gonna get those Diamond of Vlaric out as quickly as possible." Kaz said.
"Aw man." Roxas groans.
"Sorry man you scan some you lose some." Kaz said.
"So this Sona girl is really that good huh?" Roxas asks.
"Oh yeah she's one of the best." Miles said nearby drinking a soda. "Take a look at the screen."
Looking up they saw a Takinom flying through the air at the Everrain with a Maglax firing rocks at her.
When the rocks hit, Takinom brushed them off. "Sorry Maglax but Everrain weakens Earth attacks." Takinom smirks.
"But this doesn't, Lighting burst!" Maglax said firing electricity zapping Takinom making her drop out of the sky.
As she plummeted towards the ground, Maglax moves in with a Rock Wave, but at the last second Takinom recovers and flies sideways dodging the attack.
"What?!" Maglax gasps.
"Torrent of Flame!" Takinom roars blasting Maglax from close range with a powerful fire attacking sending Maglax flying into some rocks coding him.
"The winner…DevilSitri."
As Sona turns back to normal, she looks at her opponent.
"Not even a challenge these days." Sona sighs walking out.
"She's got skill." Roxas said impressed.
"She's like a master strategist. She acts like it's a game of chess always a few moves ahead." Miles said.
"Yikes I feel sorry for the sucker who has to battle her next." Joey said when Roxas' scanner beeped.
Looking at it his eyes widen. "Uh…you're looking at him." Roxas admits causing Joey, Miles and Kaz to look at him in shock.
"Oh boy." Joey cringed.
"Well it was nice knowing ya Roxas." Kaz said patting him on the back and walking away.
Roxas looks to his friends and saw neither of them had much faith he would win this either.
"Come on guys don't I have some kind of chance?" Roxas asks.
"Oh yeah for sure man." Joey said.
"We'll help you make a team that will hopefully give you a fighting chance." Miles said.
"Hey just out of curiosity what would happen if I did beat her?" Roxas asks.
"We don't know, she's never lost before so we don't how she would react." Miles said.
"Good to know." Roxas said.
The next day, Roxas was facing Sona in the dromes.
"Uh hey remember me?" Roxas asks.
"Oh yes from Underworld City." Sona recalls.
"I've heard you're good." Roxas said.
"I hope you can provide me with some kind of challenge." Sona said.
"Yeah me too." Roxas said as they both bring up their decks.
'Alright she uses Underworlders so I'm gonna need to play smart. I'll put my buddy Tangath in the cleanup and I'll use these guys for the front row.' Roxas thought picking his cards.
Outside, Joey and Miles were sitting down when Erika walked in.
"Hey guys what's up?" Erika asks.
"Roxas is about to have a drome battle." Miles said.
"Sweet, who's the poor sucker he's battling?" Erika asks.
"DevilSitri." Joey said causing her eyes to widen.
"Make room." Erika said sitting down.
Once they finished Roxas and Sona locked their decks.
On Roxas' side was Tangath Toborn, Frafdo and Vidav.
On Sona's side was Takinom, Lyssta and the familiar walking toolbox Khybon.
"So an Overworld team huh?" Sona asks.
"I know what I'm doing." Roxas said.
"We'll see." Sona said.
"DevilSitri since you are undefeated you will have first attack."
Spinning the randomizer the first location was Gothos Tower.
"Lyssta attacks Vidav!" Sona said touching the icon and Sona becomes a blue female creature with blades on her arms and Roxas became a white tiger creature with a purple coat over him.
"Let's get Chaotic!" Lyssta said.
At the dark spooky tower, Vidav made his way to the entrance when he looked up at the dark sky.
'Hmm reminds me a little of the World that Never was.' Roxas thought before entering the castle.
"Where are you?" Vidav asks.
"Right here." Looking ahead Vidav saw Lyssta sitting on a fancy little throne looking down at him. "Nice to see you didn't keep me waiting."
"I'm not very patient. Spirit Gust!" Vidav said firing ghosts at Lyssta who jumps off the throne and leaps over the attack.
"Power Cut!" Lyssta said as her arm blades glowed and she fires a blade of energy at Vidav knocking him into the next room.
"Ooh that's gotta hurt." Miles cringed.
"Come on Roxas! Show that stupid Underworlder who's boss!" Erika calls out causing Joey and Miles to look at her and scoot away.
"So any chance Roxas can win?" Joey whispers.
"If he can it'll be a miracle." Miles said.
Getting up Vidav looks to see Lyssta charging in, acting quickly Vidav summons a Liquidizer firing a powerful blast of water knocking Lyssta back.
"I'm not going down that easily." Vidav growls firing ice at her but Lyssta holds up her blades trying to lessen the damage.
"That's it Roxas! Show her who's boss!" Joey said as Lyssta was blasted outside onto the balcony.
Recovering Lyssta looks up to see Vidav ready one more attack.
"Delerium!" Lyssta said firing a beam hitting Vidav in the head causing him to stumble.
"Oh no Roxas!" Erika gasps.
"With a move like that Roxas can't even think straight." Miles said as Vidav drops his Liquidizer to hold his head.
Using this opening Lyssta sprints forward. "Slashclaw!" With gleaming blades Lyssta slashes Vidav coding him.
In the drome, Roxas watches as Lyssta turns back into Sona.
"Good move, thought I had you." Roxas said.
"Valiant effort but not enough." Sona said adjusting her glasses. "My creatures are on the advance while yours are dwindling."
'Man glad a girl like her wasn't in the Organization.' Roxas thought spinning the wheel.
"The next location…Crystal Cave!"
'Alright Roxas, time to step it up. Time to go all out.' Roxas thought.
"Frafdo attacks Khybon!" Roxas said pressing his icon turning into the white eagle creature while Sona became the walking toolbox from earlier.
A bright flash of light appears and Frafdo had his plasma arrows at the ready.
"Alright let's see?" Frafdo said looking around when a blast of flames shoot out at him. "Whoa!"
Jumping quickly Frafdo rolls out of the way as Khybon drills a hole through a giant crystal and rips it off before throwing it at him.
"Flash Kick!" Leaping up Frafdo kicks the crystal shattering it.
Aiming his arrows, Frafdo fires causing it to fly across the cave hitting Khybon making him skid back.
Moving in Frafdo fired more arrows when suddenly a ring appeared around Khybon's fingers and a barrier appeared blocking the arrows.
"Sorry but I gave Khybon the Ring of Na'arin." Khybon said.
"Maybe but let's see how much that little ring can take. Tornado Tackle!" Frafdo said releasing a tornado that picked up the crystal shards adding an extra punch to his attack.
"Flame Orb!" From his blaster arm, Khybon releases a barrage of fire attacks forcing Frafdo to jump backwards.
"Wind Slash!" Frafdo said releasing a blade of air but Khybon leaps behind two large crystals.
"Not this time!" Khybon said firing a blast of fire slamming into Frafdo knocking him back.
Groaning in pain Frafdo looks to see Khybon toss a giant crystal at him.
Gasping Frafdo leaps out of the way and jumps behind some crystal for some cover.
"She's got him pinned down." Joey said.
"He's gonna get coded again." Miles said.
"Come on Roxas." Erika said worried.
Panting heavily, Frafdo looks behind him to see Khybon hiding behind two large crystals but there were three giant ones right above him.
Taking a deep breath Frafdo readies his bow before leaping back and firing.
"Gotcha!" Khybon said firing a fireball but the arrow flew past it and pierced the crystals causing them to shake before falling down on Khybon crushing him into code.
Back in the drome, Sona had a surprised look on her face as Frafdo turned back into Roxas.
"Guess you didn't see that coming." Roxas smirks.
"'I'll admit that was a good move, but don't think just because you won this round it means you'll win this battle." Sona said determined.
"Bring it on." Roxas said equally determined.
Next we find ourselves, in Underworld City as Frafdo and Lyssta were running across the rooftops.
Aiming his bow at her, Frafdo fires multiple arrows which Lyssta slashes to pieces as she gains on him.
Turning around Frafdo blocks her slashes with his bow before leaping up and kicking her in the face making her tumble backwards.
"You fight well for someone who joined not too long ago." Lyssta said.
"You may have more Chaotic experience than me but I have tons of real world fighting experience." Frafdo said.
"Acceleration!" Lyssta said as green energy surrounds her and she charges in ramming into Frafdo knocking him off the roofs to the ground.
Groaning Frafdo looks up to see Lyssta leaping off the roofs.
"Song of Resurgence!" Frafdo said casting a Mugic and a bright light engulfs him healing him.
With this energy back Frafdo dodges Lyssta's slash and fires an arrow knocking her back.
"Wind Slash!" Frafdo said creating a blade of air knocking Lyssta down the street.
"Rustoxic!" Lyssta breathes a green goo that upon hitting Frafdo traps him in place. "Time to show you some Underworld Mugic. Cannon of Casualty!"
Using one of her mugicians a powerful red light shot out coding Frafdo.
"That looked strong." Miles cringed.
"Underworld Mugic always do the most damage. Cannon of Casualty is one of their best." Erika said.
"I thought you were into Overworlders?" Joey asks.
"I look into Mugic from all tribes." Erika corrects.
Back in the drome, Roxas looks as Lyssta returns into Sona.
"I thought if I healed myself I would last longer but you had a Mugic that basically blew away all the energy I healed." Roxas realized.
"When I assemble my team I take everything into account both mine and my opponent's possible moves." Sona said adjusting her glasses.
"I'm not done yet. I still have Tangath." Roxas said spinning the wheel.
"The next location…the Forest of Life."
"Tangath Toborn attacks Lyssta!" Roxas said turning into his friend while Sona turned into her warrior again.
"Once Tangath Tobron falls this match is mine." Lyssta said.
"Don't count me out just yet." Tangath Toborn said as the bright light engulfs them.
In the Forest of Life, Tangath Toborn was making his way through the forest looking for any sign of Sona.
'Alright after battling the real Tangath here I know how to better fight with him. Sona won't know what hit her.' Roxas thought.
Summoning his sword, Tangath Toborn heard a noise before he quickly turns around and blocks Lyssta's arm blades with his sword.
"Nice try." Tangath Toborn smirks.
"Not bad." Lyssta said before she jumps back avoiding the slash.
"Iron Ball!" Tangath said firing balls of metal.
"Rock Wave!" Lyssta said slamming her fist into the ground creating a wall of earth blocking it.
Jumping up Tangath Toborn grabs a vine and swings in.
"Power Cut!" Lyssta said firing a blade at him cutting the vine making Tangath Toborn fall to the ground and roll to recover.
Leaping in Lyssta swung her arm blades but Tangath blocked with his sword causing sparks to fly as they clashed weapons.
Lyssta swings her blades but Tangath Toborn dodges and elbows her back.
'How is he so good with a sword? He must have learned how to use one before he came to Chaotic.' Sona thought as she growled seeing this was gonna be tough.
"Lavalanche!" Tangath Tobron said firing a powerful fire attack at her.
"Tornado Tackle!" Lyssta said creating a powerful tornado that clashes with Lavalanche canceling each other out creating a powerful smoke screen.
Jumping up Lyssta lands on one of the tall tree branches looking down at the smoke with her arm blades ready to strike once the smoke clears.
Suddenly running out of the smoke Tangath Toborn charges towards her.
"Delerium!" Lyssta said firing her mental attack, but at the last second Tangath Toborn holds up his sword and reflects the bright light causing Lyssta to be one confused.
"I'm not falling for that trick twice! Now it's your turn!" Tangath Toborn said as Lyssta started to wobble trying to keep it together.
Using this chance flames erupted out of his sword before he leaped in and slashed Lyssta coding her.
"He did it!" Joey cheers pumping his fist.
"He could do it. He might actually win." Erika smiles.
"Not yet, Sona still has Takinom left." Miles said.
Back in the drome, Roxas and Sona were staring each other down.
"You used my own attack against me." Sona said.
"I learn from my battles." Roxas said.
"You're good Roxas. I can't remember the last time someone brought me down to my last creature." Sona said.
"I don't go down without a fight." Roxas said determined.
"Maybe so but I saved the best for last. I have many creatures that I've battled with but with Takinom I have never known defeat." Sona said equally determined.
"Me neither with Tangath so I guess after this one of us will lose our streak." Roxas challenges.
"It would appear so." Sona said before spinning the wheel.
"The next location…the Lava Pond."
"Excellent." Sona grins. "Takinom attacks Tangath Toborn!"
In the Lava Pond, Takimon was flying through the air while Tangath Toborn was on the ground trying not to fall into the lava.
"I better watch myself. One wrong move and I'm toast." Tangath Toborn said.
"I think you mean roasted!" Looking up he saw Takinom fly in.
"Pebble Storm!" Tangath Toborn said firing stones but Takinom counters with a Pebble Storm of her own surprising everyone.
"Wait a minute, Takinom can't do Earth attacks!" Joey said.
"Hardly any Underworlders can so how did she?" Erika asks.
Zooming in everyone gasps seeing a Diamond of Vlaric battlegear around Takinom's neck.
"A Diamond of Vlaric?" Tangath Toborn said surprised.
"From my little scan trip yesterday. Remember?" Takinom smirks causing Tangath Toborn to growl.
This match just got harder both he and Takinom could do both Fire and Earth attacks now.
"Flame Orb!" Takinom said firing a giant fireball but Tangath Toborn slashes it in half.
"Inferno Gust!" Tangath Toborn releases a powerful gust of flames but Takinom flies out of the way to dodge.
"Vine Snare!" Tangath Toborn said firing vines wrapping around Takinom's legs slamming her down to the ground.
Growling Takinom slashes herself free.
"You wanna dance?" Takinom asks.
"Bring it on." Tangath Toborn said taking a fighting stance.
Moving in Tangath Toborn swings his sword but Takinom dodges and uses a Flash Kick making Tangath Toborn skid back.
"Rustoxic!" Takinom said breathing acid at him but Tangath Toborn rolls out of the way.
"Flame Orb!" Tangath Toborn said blasting Takinom with a fireball making her fall backwards.
"Pebble storm!" Takinom said firing multiple stones
"Rock Wave!" Tangath slams his fist into the ground and the large rocks block the stones and knocks Takinom to the ground. Using this chance Tangath Tobron grips his sword tight as flames erupt from it.
As he charges in Takinom turns around. "Torrent of Flame!"
Tangath Toborn tries using his sword as a shield but the blast was too much and he's sent flying back and his sword flew out of his hand and into the lava.
Groaning Tangath Toborn looks up and saw his sword sinking into the lava.
"Sorry Tangath but without your weapon this match is as good as mine." Takinom said as he stood back up.
"Not yet it is! Iron Balls!" Tangath Toborn fires his attack but moved his head up towards the ceiling causing multiple large rocks to drop down towards Takinom.
"Hmph that won't stop me! Torrent of Flame!" Takinom yells lifting her hands up creating a giant fire attack destroying the rocks.
Using this chance Tangath Toborn sprinted across the field and was inches from Takinom causing her and everyone else to gasp in shock.
"No but this might. Lavalanche!" Tangath Toborn blasts Takimon from close range causing her to fly back and crash into the lava coding her.
"He did it! He actually did it!" Erika squeals.
"Roxas beat DevilSitri!" Miles cheers.
"Ah yeah! He's the man!" Joey cheers.
Back in the drome, Sona looked at him in shock as Tangath turned back into Roxas.
"The winner, TwilightKing."
"I won! I can't believe that worked." Roxas smiles as he turns to Sona.
"You used the Iron Balls as your first attack to make vulnerable and then delivered your real attack while I was exposed." Sona said.
"Just because I didn't have my weapon Sona doesn't mean I don't have other ways to win." Roxas smiles.
Looking at his smiling face a soft blush appeared on Sona's face as she smiles.
"Perhaps you can show me some moves?" Sona asks.
"Sure and maybe you can help me learn more about Underworlders." Roxas said.
"I'd like that." Sona said.
"We should meet up again. I'd love to face you again." Roxas said as he walked out.
"Yeah…me too." Sona said looking at the first person to ever beat her and instead of being angry or disappointed she was looking at Roxas like he was the most amazing thing in the world.
Back at the tables, Roxas saw Erika run waving him.
"Hey guys. What did you think?" Roxas asks.
"What did we think? You won against an undefeated player. Mind blown." Erika smiles.
"Oh man dude that was amazing!" Joey said as Roxas walks over and Erika moved over so he could sit down.
"I almost thought you were gonna lose." Miles admits.
"I didn't. You were incredible." Erika said.
"Thanks guys." Roxas said when Sona walks over.
"Hello there." Sona said surprising them.
"Whoa, DevilSitri." Joey gulps.
"Is she here for revenge?" Miles gulps.
"Actually, I wanted to know if I could join you?" Sona asks surprising them even more.
"Uh sure." Erika said when Sona sat down next to Roxas when a robot comes over.
"Here you are sir." The robot said opening a hatch to reveal Sea Salt Ice Cream sticks.
"What are those?" Sona asks.
"It's this super tasty Ice cream. Roxas brought it here and they scanned the recipe." Erika said.
"Here try it." Roxas said holding one out for her.
Slowly taking it Sona took a bite and smiles. "After a battle like ours this hits the spot."
"Yes it does." Roxas smiles.
Erika looks over at Roxas and sees Sona smile and slowly scoot closer to him causing her eyes to widen. 'Oh you really are a devil, Sona. No way in hell.' Erika thought biting off a huge chunk of her ice cream. "Aaah! Brain freeze!"
