The word "congratulations" kept replaying over and over in Shanan's head as she walked home. She had been so sick and weak lately. But she really wasn't expecting this.

She had just turned twenty-four and didn't think that she was quite ready to be a mother. She wasn't even sure if she ever wanted to be a mother. But Kakashi would be a great dad, she knew that much.

He would've been at the hospital with her, but he had to do a small mission the day before. And even though she was too sick to help, he still had to go and he still hadn't returned by the time she got home.

So she paced. Back and forth. Except when she had to vomit. Nothing they could really give her for pregnancy. No healing to be done from that. No. She just had to deal with it.

All she could do was worry about Kakashi's reaction. No, he would be happy. What about her reaction? Was she happy? She didn't know. She was too sick to decide. She vomited again.

She couldn't pace anymore, so she laid down on the couch and stared at the door. "Why wasn't Kakashi home yet?" she wondered as she dozed off to sleep...

"Shanan," he said quietly as he stroked her nose.

She thought she was dreaming at first, but then as he said her name again, she opened her eyes and saw him kneeling in front of her.

"Hey..." she said as she smiled at him.

"Are you feeling any better?" he asked as she sat up and leaned her head on her hand.

"No. Still very sick."

"They couldn't help you?" he asked, concerned.

Shanan smirked at him a bit. "Nope. They said they couldn't do anything for another eight months," she told him.

Kakashi looked confused. "Eight months? Wh-?" Suddenly, realization swept over his face. "Wait." He started to smile at her now. "Are you...? Are we...?" He could barely contain his excitement as Shanan nodded excitedly.

Kakashi threw his arms around her and pulled her in so tight, which kinda made her nauseous, but she didn't fight him.

"I get to be a dad?" he asked as his voice broke. "We're gonna be parents and have our own family together?" Tears were streaming down his face as he continued to hug her tight.

Until now, Shanan had wondered how she felt about it, but Kakashi was so happy, how could she not be happy too? No. Now she couldn't wait to meet her baby...

Babies. Shanan and Kakashi welcomed their twins in March and they were a very healthy boy with brown hair that they named Hiroshi and a very healthy girl with white hair that they named Yukiho.

And they both immediately fell in love with them. It was as if they had been in their lives for forever already.

Kakashi was the best dad. He did everything for them. He was up for every feeding. He helped with every diaper change. He even sang with Shanan when they put them in their bed to sleep.

Every night they would sit with their knees up and a baby on each of them as they fed them. Kakashi would hold a bottle in one hand and a book in the other as he read to the family. Then they would change them and bundle them up as they both sang.

After a few months, Shanan would get out of the bathtub and come out to find Kakashi asleep with both babies on either side of him in his arms. And she took pictures every chance that she got so that he could one day draw them, since she couldn't do it for him.

And watching him play with them always warmed her heart. He threw them higher than she liked, but they both couldn't get enough. All she could picture was them as they got older telling him to throw them even higher, which always made her shudder.

He even put Yuki's hair up for her, since she already had so much of it.

He was truly the best dad and Shanan had always known that he would be. Since the first time he picked up Naruto. She could see in his eyes that he would be perfect.

Kakashi was turning twenty-five tomorrow and Shanan was planning a party for him with Kushina. They had spent the whole last week planning. Even Naruto and Sasuke had been helpful in planning since they both looked up to him so much. So Shanan decided that she and Kakashi would go to bed right after they put the twins down that night.

They gave them a bath together, they could both sit up now, which Kakashi had been really excited about. They read to them, they sang to them and they put them in their crib and told them how much their mommy and daddy loved them. The same as every night.

And then they said their usual goodnights to each other and fell asleep...
