Chapter 10: Mixed Madness

We find ourselves in a drome battle where Roxas was facing a teenage boy with brown hair and a green jersey.
On the board we see Roxas had Hifdan, Rothar, Rarran and Vidav while the other guy only had Tartarek left.
"Tartawrecker it is your attack."
"You think your Mixed Team is really gonna win you the match?" Tartawrecker asks.
"Well seeing as how your whole team was the same creature." Roxas shrugs.
"Shut up! Tartarek is awesome!" Tartawrecker snaps.
Growling Tartawrecker spins the location Randomizer.
"The next location, the Forest of Life."
"Yes. Tartarek attacks Rarran!" Touching their creatures both players transform with Roxas becoming a scary bat creature.
"I am going to put you in your place!" Tartarek said.
"We'll see." Rarran glares as a light engulfs them.
In the forest, Rarran was flying through the trees.
"Hmm at least it'll be easier to find him from the air." Rarran said.
"Vine Snare!" Suddenly vines shot out tying up Rarran in its grip.
Struggling Rarran looks down to see Tartarek approaching him.
"Too bad for you. This one has the Ring of Na'ran which gives me tons more power and since I have more power than you the Forest of Life gives me more energy. Old Tartarek feels like a kid again." Tartarek brags.
"Well then I guess it's time for your timeout!" Rarran said breaking out of the vines. "Wind Slash!"
Firing a blade of air, it knocks Tartarek backwards.
"Lightning Burst!" As Rarran released multiple bolts of lightning Tartarke grabs a tree stump and throws it at him canceling the attack out.
"Viper Lash!" Tartarek said hurling snakes at him.
"Whoa!" Flying upwards Rarran dodges the attacks.
In the sitting area many were watching the battle but one figure was watching this with interest.
"Hmm so that's TwilightKing."
"Mugic Reprise!" Using a mugician from Vidav, Roxas brought back one of his previously used Mugic.
"Is the best you got?" Tartarek mocks.
"Hardly." Rarran grins. "I got enough for one more Mugic. Song of Geonova!"
As another melody played a green light flew down smashing Tartarek into the trees.
Groaning Tartarek found himself tangled up in the vines.
"Tartarek is a pretty handy creature but only if you have others to back him up. When he's on his own. Not so much." Rarran said flying in.
Growling Tartarek tried to escape but was trap.
"Torrent of Flame!" Blasting him with a fierce fire attack Tartarek was coded.
"The winner…TwilightKing." The dromemaster said as Rarran and Tartawrecker appeared back in the drome.
"I can't believe I lost." He growls.
"Well you did." Roxas said taking his scanner and walking out.
As he made his way back to the main area, he looked out at the Imthor Drome and couldn't help but think about said Codemaster.
Back at the main area, Roxas was sitting at a table scrolling through his cards but his mind was elsewhere at the moment.
'I gotta be more careful. More creatures are starting to see my keyblade and now the Overworlders and Underworlders are out looking for me. How long before the other tribes want me?' Roxas asks remembering when Imthor sought him out.
"My world is unstable and I hope that a keyblade can balance it out." Imthor's words echoed in his head.
'What did he mean? I get the tribes are unstable and they don't like Chaotic Players messing around but that can't be it.' Roxas thought when Petyon, Sarah, Joey and Erika spot him.
"Hey Hey Hey if it isn't the man of the hour. What you doing bro?" Peyton asks.
"I'm thinking." Roxas said.
"About what?" Erika asks curious.
"Perim is an amazing world with unique creatures but I've been thinking why are they on war? Or what reason they hate each other. Why is it like this?" Roxas asks.
Ahhh I see. Guess you never heard about the story of Cothica did you Roxy?" Joey asks.
"Cothica? What's that?" Roxas asks confused.
"Hoho you really don't know. Well young Grasshopper it's time for a history lesson." Peyton said as they sat around him.
"A long time ago the tribes lived in harmony between themselves but one day a powerful energy source that suddenly appeared lots of Perim creatures gained amazing powers and prospered. But one tribe got greedy and wanted the power for themselves and that tribe amigo was the Underworld."
"Uh excuse me teacher the greedy bad guys here was the Overworld." Sarah points out.
"Excuse me missy The Overworld aren't bad compared to the underworld they are heroes. The creatures of the underworld don't care about anyone except themselves they wouldn't show mercy if an ally get captured and would destroy their own members just to get the job done." Erika glares.
"Can we please get back to the Cothica? So you're saying it's a source of unlimited power?" Roxas asks.
"Bingo that's right." Joey nods.
'Oh no, it's Kingdom Hearts all over again.' Roxas thought.
"So basically the tribes have been at war with each other for years hoping to find the secrets of the Cothica and you know rule over the others." Peyton said.
"Oh boy." Roxas facepalms.
"What are you hiding Roxas?" Erika asks suspiciously.
"Huh? Wha?" Roxas asks.
"What's bothering you?" Erika asks.
Seeing that he couldn't tell them his big secret he needed another issue to throw them off.
"Well you see everyone here is an expert on their unique tribes. You and Tom with Overworld Sona and Kaz with Underworld Joey and Peyton with Mipedians and Sarah and Miles with the Danians. And I'm…
"Feeling you're alone because you're the only one of the group that is the expert with Mixed Tribes?" Joey assumes
"Joey!" Erika snaps raising her fist.
"No Erika Joey is right my way is unique and I feel lonely because not many people understand my playing style." Roxas said.
"Don't worry Roxas maybe someday you'll find someone that share the same ideas as you." Sarah said.
"That's right patience is a virtue who knows maybe there is someone out there with the same mojo as you. You just have to wait." Peyton said.
"Thanks guys, it means a lot." Roxas said feeling better about at least one of his problems.
But before he could do anything else his scanner beeped.
When he opens Roxas and his friends seeing in Roxas scanner screen a Chinese girl with medium-length black hair, which is tied back in a ponytail with brown eyes with a pink eyeshadows dressed in a red Qipao this girl is Chan Lee.
"Nihao TwilightKing I'm QueenLotus. I've heard a lot of rumors about you. And one of those them is that you defeated the undefeated Herculeon in a match using a mix team of Overworld and Underworld. I saw your match today and you seemed very good. So I challenge you into a match to see how good you really are. Meet me in the Hottekk Drome in an hour I'll be waiting." She winks before ending the message.
"Who does that girl think she is saying things like that to my Roxas?" Erika asks.
"My Roxas?" Sarah, Peyton and Joey asked.
"Student I meant my student Roxas." Erika corrects trying to hide the blush on her face.
"Right." Peyton and Joey trailed off.
"Don't you numbskulls think of any funny ideas as a teacher I'm helping Roxas with everything related on chaotic." Erika corrects.
"Yes Ma'am." Both said.
"Erika relax I'll be fine you have nothing to worry about besides you taught me everything I know about this game I won't disappoint you." Roxas assures.
"I know you will." Erika smiles.
"Innocence is such a strong gift grasshopper." Peyton said when Erika bonks him on the head. "Ow!"
"Well Mr. Monk your randomly babbling is making Roxas confused so I brought you back to reality." Erika glares.
An hour later, Tom, Kaz, Miles and Sona were arriving from Perim.
"Well that was close." Kaz pants.
"Oh stop whining we got the scan." Sona said.
"Yeah but we almost got trampled by Skeletal Steeds to get them." Miles said.
"Guess you should always look both ways when crossing the street in the real world and in Perim." Tom said.
"That's the case anywhere." Sona said when Kaz spotted the rest of their friends sitting at a table with some drinks.
"Hey guys what's going on?" Kaz asks.
"Hey you're just in time. Roxas got challenged to a match." Peyton said.
"Oh wow, who's the player?" Tom asks interested.
"She calls herself QueenLotus." Sarah said.
"I've heard of her. She's a mixed battler. A very dangerous one." Miles said.
Looking to the screen they saw Roxas standing across from Chan Lee.
"Good to see you accepted my challenge." Chan Lee grins.
"I don't run from battles." Roxas said.
"Good, I don't like cowards." Chan Lee said as they both began setting up their teams.
"Hey she's kinda cute." Tom said.
"Man Roxas is lucky to have a girl like that call him out." Kaz said.
Narrowing her eyes Sona shoves him as she walked to the table.
"Hey watch it." Kaz said.
"Sorry guess I didn't see you." Sona said sitting nearby.
"It doesn't matter. No way Roxas is gonna lose to her." Erika glares.
"Players lock your decks."
Clicking their scanners we see both sides were using mixed teams.
On Roxas' side was Zalic, Magmon, Rarran, Raimusa, Grook, and Tangath Toborn.
On Chan Lee's side was Frafdo, Drakness, Pyrithion, Aivenna, Nievenna and Heptadd.
"So you use Mixed teams too." Roxas said.
"That's why I challenged you. Not many Chaotic Players stick with mixed teams so I wanted to see for myself how good you are." Chan Lee said.
"TwilightKing since this is a challenge match you will have first attack."
"Sounds good to me." Roxas said spinning the wheel.
"The first location…the Lava Pond."
"Yes. Just what I wanted." Roxas grins already off to a good start. "Alright. Magmon attacks…huh? Who is this shadow-looking creature?" Roxas asks looking at Drakness.
"You mean Drakness?" Chan Lee asks.
'He kinda looks like a Heartless.' Roxas touches his turning into a molten magma monster while Chan lee turned into a dark shadow like monster surprising him.
"What's the matter Roxas don't tell me you're afraid of Drakness." Drakness mocks.
"Hardly. For once, this is my kind of battle." Magmon said ready to win.
"You talk big let's see if you can back it up. Let's get Chaotic!" Drakness said.
In the Lava Pond, Drakness was moving through the terrain with ease.
'Hmm he thinks he's got me, but this location gives Drakness a boost as well.' Chan Lee thought.
Suddenly bursting out of the lava, Magmon landed in front of him.
"Lavalanche!" Blasting Drakness with a powerful fire attack Magmon knocks it into the rocks.
As Drakness tried to recover, Magmon leaped over the rocks and hurls fireballs at Drakness forcing it to dodge.
"You're not getting away from me!" Magmon yells.
"Whoa, what's with Roxas? He's on fire." Kaz said.
"Literally. Magmon is bringing the heat." Peyton cheers.
"Shadow Strike!" Disappearing into the shadows, Drakness narrowly avoids another fire attack.
Looking around Magmon tried to locate Drakness.
"Just like a Heartless." Magmon mumbles knowing this tactic all too well.
Appearing behind him, Drakness attacks blasting Magmon to the ground.
"Coil Crush!" Wrapping around him, Drakness squeezed tight crushing Magmon.
Growling Magamon jumps back slamming Drakness against the rocks and forcing him to let go.
"Shadow Strike!" Drakness said disappearing again.
"I'm not falling for that again!" Slamming his fist down, a pillar of lava shot out blasting Drakness out of the ground.
"Torrent of Flame!" Releasing a powerful flame attack it blasts Drakness turning it into code.
Appearing back in the drome, Magmon turns back into Roxas.
"Round 1 goes to me." Roxas said.
"Not bad. You certainly wanted that win badly, but don't think the rest of our battles will be easy." Chan Lee said narrowing her eyes.
"Let's just say I have lots of experience dealing with stuff like creatures Drakness." Roxas said.
"QueenLotus your turn." Spinning the wheel, it landed on a bizarre-looking arena. "The next location…the Carnival of Confusion."
"Alright just the location I was hoping for." Chan Lee grins.
"No way she has the Carnival of Confusion in her deck? I've been trying to find that place for a long time." Sona gasps surprised.
"What's so special about a carnival?" Joey asks.
"Joseph the Carnival of Confusion is one of the most treacherous locations in the Underworld territory. The place has an extraordinary special ability. When creatures with elemental attacks battle in that location, they lost the original elemental and is substituted with another: Creatures that lose Fire gain Water attacks, Creatures that lose Air gain Earth attacks, Creatures that lose Earth gains Fire attacks and Creatures that lose Water gains Air attacks." Sona explains
"Whoa that's insane." Mile said blown away.
"This is not a location for novice players in Chaotic. Let's see what she is planning with this." Erika said narrowing her eyes and taking a sip on her soda.
"I've never heard of this place before." Roxas said.
"Well then I'll have to make sure this place leaves quite the impression." Chan Lee grins.
"QueenLotus, choose your attacking creature."
"With pleasure. Heptadd attacks Rarran!" Chan Lee said as both transformed.
"You better be careful this location it's full of surprises." Heptadd said.
"Thanks for the warning I'll try to keep that in mind." Rarren said as a light engulfed them.
"Oh no this isn't good for Roxas." Sona realized.
"What do you mean by that?" Sarah asks.
"Rarran has Fire elemental attacks and it will be swapped by water attacks and Roxas have no idea this is going to happen." Sarah said.
"Wait you said all creatures are affected in that place but so her Heptadd will be effected too?" Tom recalls.
"Yes Thomas but I think Heptadd is an exception to the rule." Sona said when Erika gasps.
"I got it! since Heptadd can use all the 4 elements if he lost 1, he could compensate with the other which means it's a never ending cycle. he is immune to the effects of the Carnival of confusion." Erika realized.
"Bingo." Sona nods.
"Whoa. Kung fu Girl knows about it and is now a few steps ahead with this info. Poor Roxy he is in a pickle on this match." Peyton cringed.
Looking around Rarran saw he was flying around in what had to be the craziest location he's ever been in so far.
"What the heck?" Rarran said flying around trying to avoid debris.
Looking around he spotted Heptadd on a Torwegg.
"Gotcha! Flame Orb!" Rarran said about to launch the fire attack but for some reason water shout out instead. "What the? Water?"
Seeing this Heptadd couldn't help but grin.
"Inferno Gust!" Firing a powerful flaming wind attack Heptadd blasts Rarran out of the sky. "I told you this location was full of surprises!"
Eyes widening, Rarran pulled up narrowly avoiding a crash landing.
"Where did all my fire attacks go?" Rarran asks confused.
"You lost them! But I didn't lose mine! Pebble Storm!" Flying in Heptadd fired a barrage of rocks hoping to shoot Rarran out of the sky.
'Okay if Rarran's attacks are all messed up. I'm gonna have to change things up.' Roxas thought.
Summoning a Whepcrack, Rarren flings it at Heptadd nailing him in the face.
"You may have messed with my attacks but my battlegear works just fine." Rarran said going on the attack.
"You think that'll work? Discord of Disarming!" Using a mugician from Nievenna, the mugic was cast.
"I don't think so! Go Song of Obstruction!" Rarran said using one of his mugic to counter.
"Whoa, where did Roxas learn that combo?" Joey asks as Peyton whistles impressed.
"Yo." Erika grins pointing to herself proudly. "Song of Obstruction is a Generic mugic that can cancel out another mugic cast. Very handy to have."
"They don't call you LadyMuge for nothing." Tom said impressed.
"No they do not." Erika smiles.
"Yes it's that amazing. Meanwhile Roxas is still in trouble." Sona said gesturing to the screen.
On it, Rarran flung the whip at Heptadd hitting him dead center, but when he pulled back Heptadd grabbed the whip.
"Frost Blight!" Breathing ice, Heptadd freezes Rarran where he stood.
Smirking Heptadd let go making Rarran plummet to the ground.
"Torrent of Flame!" Blasting Rarran as he fell, Rarran was sent smashing into the building coding him.
Appearing back in the drome, Roxas looks at Chan Lee surprised.
"That location is insane and yet you used it perfectly." Roxas said.
"I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve." Chan Lee smirks.
"Well so do I." Roxas said spinning the wheel revealing the Underworld City. "Grook attacks Aivenna!"
Touching the icons, Chan Lee turned into the familiar female monster while Roxas turned into a large muscular blue creature.
In the location, we see Aivenna running from the rooftops with Grook chasing her down below.
"You're not getting away from me!" Grook yells throwing a flame orb hitting the area in front of her.
Turning around Aivenna tried to double back but Grook leaped up to her level.
Throwing a powerful left hook Grook sent Aivenna crashing to the ground.
"Too slow." Grook said grabbing Aivenna and throwing her down the street and into a house.
'I've fought the real Aivenna and fought as her. I know her moves.' Roxas thought as Aivenna stood.
From the wreckage, Grook looks in surprise to see a red energy surrounding Aivenna.
"What in the? How are you doing that? I've never seen Aivenna do that before." Grook said.
"You don't know do you? Aivenna and Nivenna have a secret battle skill when you put them next to each other on the board." Aivenna grins.
Gasping everyone looked to see all the energy Aivenna lost had increased.
"That's why Chan Lee set her team up like that." Sarah gasps seeing both sisters next to each other in the middle row.
"By having the two of them next to each other they give the other a boost." Erika gasps.
"I thought those two hated each other." Miles said.
"That's probably why no one has ever tried putting them together." Sona said impressed.
"Flame Orb!" Grook tries to counter but Aivenna summons an Aqua Shield to deflect it.
"Not this time!" Summoning her own Flame Orb, Aivenna blasts Grook making his skid back.
Growling Grook retaliated going on the attack.
Acting quickly Aivenna took a martial arts stance.
"Hiyah!" Swinging her palms, Aivenna manages to deflect Grook's powerful punches.
Leaping up Aivenna delivers a powerful round house kick to the face.
Holding up his arms, Grook managed to block her second kick and headbutted her making Aivenna tumble back.
"Whoa, this is like a kung fu flick." Joey said.
"Power Pulse!" Firing glowing fists, Grook attacks Aivenna.
Quickly dodging the attack it strikes a fountain causing it to be destroyed and form a giant hole.
Grinning Aivenna saw a big opening.
"Song of Stasis!" Using a Mugician, a melody played causing a bright light to engulf Grook freezing him where he stood.
Charging forward, Aiveanna did a series of cartwheels before doing a backflip kick to the face sending Grook plummeting down the hole and turning into code when he reached the bottom.
Cringing everyone watching couldn't help but be both impressed and nervous.
"That had to hurt." Kaz said.
Appearing back in the drome, Roxas looked at Aivenna as she turned back into Chan Lee.
"Where did you learn to fight like that?" Roxas asks amazed.
"You think Chaotic is my only passion? I'll have you know I'm an expert in Chinese Martial Arts." Chan Lee said making a fighting stance.
"Not bad, but I have tons of real-world fighting experience too." Roxas said.
"Well then how come I haven't seen any?" Chan Lee teases.
"Whoa those two are something else." Tom said.
"You just keep finding more things they have in common." Kaz said.
"I'll say: mixed decks, expert fighters, the attitude. Man Roxas does not know how lucky he is." Peyton chuckles.
Hearing this Erika and Sona slammed their feet down on both of Peyton's feet
"The next location…the Mipedian Oasis."
"Hold on, why does she have a Mipedian location in her deck?" Joey asks confused.
"Yeah she doesn't have a single one on her team." Tom said equally confused.
"Maybe she put in by mistake." Miles shrugs. "Happens to me whenever I'm in a rush."
"Somehow I doubt that." Sarah said.
"Get ready for a new lesson Roxas. You can do more than just use creature and mugic combos to win a match. Pyrithion attacks Raimusa!" Chan Lee said.
Touching their cards both became their creatures before the light engulfs them.
Trekking through the desert, Raimusa was panting heavily.
"What's wrong with Roxas? The battle hasn't even started and he looks like he's about to pass out." Miles asks.
"It's not him. It's Raimusa." Peyton points out. "Raimusa spends all his time in the Crystal Range and Glacier Plains. Dude likes the cold, not the heat."
"This is just like when I faced him in my last battle." Tom gasps.
"Roxas needs to be extra careful this time." Erika said.
"But why would Chan Lee want this location?" Sarah asks.
Pausing Sona's eyes widen in realization. "No…it can't be."
Almost on cue something burst out of the sand and nailed Raimusa in the chest.
"Aw what's the matter? You look like you could use a drink." Looking up Raimusa saw Pyrithion with a Liquilizer in at the ready.
"Rip Tide!" Firing a torrent of water Raimusa blasts Pyrithion away.
Summoning Raimusa's trademark energy whip he flings it at him whacking Pyrithion's battlegear out of its hand.
"Gotcha!" Raimusa said.
"Nope!" Quickly jumping into the sand Pyrithion dodges the attack.
"What?!" Raimusa gasps as Pyrithion slithers through the sand with ease grabbing the Liquilizer.
"Of course, sand is where a snake feels right at home. Chan Lee picked this location for Pyrithion specifically." Sona gasps.
"Of course. The heat, the sand, Pyrithion is in his element. She found the perfect location for her Underworlder that's not in the Underworld." Kaz realized.
"And the worst location for Roxas. Oh she's good." Tom cringed.
"Pebble Storm!" Firing a barrage of stones, Raimusa tried to hit Pyrithion but the slippery snake was able to use the sand to dodge and weave around all the attacks with ease.
"Power Pulse!" Firing a glowing fist, Raimusa nails Pyrithion with a direct him.
'Normally Raimusa is my kind of creature, but right now I just feel so tired.' Roxas groans holding his head.
"You need to learn more about your creatures. You may not be bothered by the heat, but Raimusa is horrible in it." Pyrithion said lunging out of the sand and blasts him with the Liqulizer.
"Coil Crush!" Wrapping his tail around his neck Pyrithon squeezed tightly crushing Raimusa into code.
Appearing back in the drome, Pryithion turned back into Chan Lee.
"Surprised?" Chan Lee smirks.
"I didn't know creatures could excel in locations outside their tribe." Roxas said amazed.
"That's the beauty of a mixed deck. It opens your eyes to all kinds of possibilities that some don't even try. So Roxas? Think you have what it takes to be a Mixed Player?" Chan Lee asks.
Growling Roxas had never faced an opponent like her. She was pushing him and he had already lost half his team to her clever combos.
"Let's find out Chan Lee. As long as I've got some creatures left I'm not stopping anytime soon." Roxas said tightening his fist.
"Then bring it on." Chan Lee said ready for the fight.
"The next location…Kiru City."
"Tangath Toborn attacks Nivenna!" Roxas declares.
In Kiru City, Nievanna was running through the streets when Tangath Toborn burst out of a building.
Swinging a Cyclance, Nievenna clashes with Tangath's Sword of Khy'at sending sparks flying.
Holding it out, she fires a blast of lightning but Tangath dodges at the last second.
Roaring Tangath slashes her turning her into code.
"Frafdo attacks Zalic!" Chan Lee said.
In the Riverlands, Farfdo fired multiple wind blasts at Zalic who had a Vlaric shard on his arm.
Slamming his fist down, Rock Wave shot out blocking the attack.
Running forward, Zalic leaps off the rock and tackles Frafdo sending him crashing into the water.
Gasping for air, Frado looks up to see Zalic diving down and delivering a powerful punch coding it upon splash.
"Magmon attacks Pyrithion!" Roxas said.
In Ravanaugh Ridge, Pyrithion had Magmon pinned behind some rocks as she used the Liquilizer.
While Magmon found some cover, he tried to counter but Pyrithion cast a mugic.
"Song of Embernova!" As a bright light shined down Magmon was coded.
"Heptadd attacks Zalic!" Chan Lee said.
In Lake Ken-I-PO, Zalic fired a barrage of earth attacks but Heptadd easily dodged them.
Creating a powerful air attack he blasted Zalic into the water before releasing a lightning attack zapping the now soaked Zalic until he exploded into code.
"Tangath Toborn attacks Pyrithion!" Roxas said.
In Glacier Plains, Tangath Tobron swings his sword deflecting all of Pyrithion's attacks and slashing him sending him falling off the cliff and into code.
"Oh yeah! Roxas is catching up with Chan Lee." Miles said.
"He may not have her experience but you can't deny. Roxas is a fighter." Joey said.
"I'll admit, he's making quite the comeback." Sarah said.
"He's slaying those Underworlders left and right." Erika grins.
"Maybe but Chan Lee sure has some fight in her." Kaz said as they all watched the next match.
In the Forest of Life, Tangath Toborn was on the attack slashing away all of Aivenna's fire attacks.
"Not so tough without your boost from Nivenna!" Tangath ignites his sword and throws it.
Quickly ducking Aivenna dodges it as the flaming sword chops a tree behind her.
"You shouldn't be so quick to get rid of your weapon." Aivenna said.
"Oh I wasn't." Tangath Toborn smirks as the tree started to break.
Gasping Aivenna turns around to see the whole tree come down on her turning her into code.
Appearing back in the drome, Chan Lee looks to see Tangath turn back into Roxas.
"Oops. Guess I was supposed to say Timber." Roxas smirks.
"Well TwilightKing I'll admit it. You know how to use your mixed creatures well." Chan Lee said.
"I'm a fast learner. So believe me when I say I'm gonna take you down on this next one." Roxas declares.
"Well let's see if your Tangath Toborn can stand up to my Heptadd." Chan Lee challenges.
"Tangath Toborn is my best creature. I've never lost a battle with him." Roxas said.
"First time for everything." Chan Lee said spinning the wheel.
"The next location…Carnival of Confusion."
Hearing this Chan Lee grinned. "Well what do you know. Back to one of my best locations."
"You got me the first time, but I'm not gonna fall of that trick again." Roxas said.
"Maybe but even so your Tangath Toborn has his elements changed but my Heptadd walks out of this just fine." Chan Lee said.
"So wait if Tangath Toborn can do Fire and Earth attacks what does that carnival leave him with?" Tom asks as everyone turns to Sona who sighs that they already forgot.
"His Fire attacks will be replaced with Water and his Earth attacks will be replaced with Fire." Sona rolls her eyes.
Looking up at the screen, Heptadd was flying around on his Torwegg but Tangath Toborn was hot on their tail chasing from the ground.
"Frost Blight!" Tangath breathes a freezing air forcing Heptadd to fly out of the way.
"Lightning Burst!" Heptadd releases a powerful electric attack.
Raising his sword, Tangath Toborn uses it like a lightning rod in order to absorb the attack.
Swinging it with all his might, Tangath Toborn nailed Heptadd's Torwegg causing it to catch fire.
Quickly taking it off, Heptadd throws it Tangath just as it explodes.
"Alright ready for Round 2?" Heptadd said taking Chan Lee's fighting stance.
Gripping his sword tight, Tangath Toborn went on the attack.
"Iron Balls!" Heptadd fires multiple iron spheres at Tangath who swats as many as he could away.
"Hail Storm!" Firing chunks of ice they knock the earth attack away allowing Tangath to deliver a fierce kick to Heptadd's side.
"Cyclone Slam!" Creating a powerful tornado, Heptadd blasts Tangath Tobron.
Using the wind, Heptadd launched high into the air before cupping his hands together and slamming down towards Tangath.
At the last second, Tangath rolls to the side and delivers an uppercut nailing Heptadd on the chin.
"Not bad, but not enough to stop me! Ember Swarm!" Heptadd yells hurling a powerful flame attack.
Acting quickly Tangath Tobron ran behind a stone wall.
"Well then maybe I need to fix a few things. Hymn of the Elements! Restore my Earth abilities!" Tangath said using his mugician and a green light engulfs him.
"Hymn of the Elements?" Sarah smiles.
"Now Tangath Toborn has access to fire, earth, and water abilities." Kaz said.
"Roxas is back in the game." Peyton grins.
"Get her buddy!" Joey cheers.
Unleashing a rock wave, Tangath sends Heptadd flying.
"3 against 4. Odds are still in my favor." Heptadd said.
"I've fought against worst odds." Tangath Toborn said.
Attacking all kinds of elemental attacks flew everywhere.
Heptadd unleashed a Riptide attack and Tangath uses Rock Wave to block it.
Leaping over his rock wall, Tangath releases a Lavalanche but Heptadd uses air attacks dodge.
Breathing an ice blast, Tangath tried to slow them down but Heptadd countered with Shadow Strike to dodge it.
As all of Roxas' friends were on the edge of their seat none of them took their eyes off the screen.
Appearing on an upper level, Heptadd unleashes Tornado Tackle slamming Tangath Toborn back.
Diving down Heptadd hurls Flame Orbs down.
"Power Pulse!" Firing his glowing fist attack Tangath Toborn knocks Heptadd out of the air.
Tumbling to the ground Heptadd was about to get up when the Sword of Khy'At stabs the ground near his head making him flinch.
Turning around Heptadd saw Tangath Tobron with flames forming in his claws.
"Sorry Chan Lee but this match is mine!" Tangath yells ready for the finisher.
"Not if I have anything to say about it! Swarm Song!" Heptadd said casting a mugic.
"What? But Swarm Song is a Danian Mugic." Joey gasps.
"She had that surprise laying in the wings." Miles said nervously.
"That's another one of Heptadd's powers. He can cast mugic from any tribe." Erika gasps.
As the giant swarm struck Tangath Toborn, he tried to swat them off but it was too much and he ended up coded.
Back in the drome, Roxas looks to see Heptadd turn back into Chan Lee.
"The winner…QueenLotus."
Slowly Chan Lee walked up to him.
"That was a good match Roxas." She smiles holding out her hand.
"For you maybe. You kicked my butt on so many locations." Roxas said.
"I spend a lot of time in working on combinations for my creatures and cards. I don't leave anything to chance but you did good. You had some real solid combinations." Chan Lee said.
"Still I'm nowhere near your level." Roxas said.
"You'll get there and I might be able to talk pointers." Chan Lee teases.
"Really?" Roxas said interested.
"Well if you can make something worth my while." Chan Lee said.
"You like ice cream?" Roxas asks offering the first thing that came to mind.
"It's a start." Chan Lee shrugs.
On the other side of the screen, Erika and Sona were watching this and began to hate Chan Lee getting all of his attention.
"I gotta say those two make quite the duo." Joey said.
"Yeah Roxas needs someone who's good at his style too." Tom agrees making Erika growl.
"Uh oh, looks like you just lost your student." Peyton said.
"Step away right now." Erika hisses.
Pausing the three boys turn to feel a dangerous aura at their tables. Gulping they all scooted away.
Nearby Roxas gave Chan Lee a Sea Salt Ice Cream.
"Wow never had something like this before." She said enjoying it.
"So Chan why did you challenge me? I mean I can't be the only mixed team player." Roxas asks.
"No but you seemed like you really knew what you were doing. And I wanted to see it for myself. Plus you're not only a decent player but a decent person too. I swear half the players here I just want to punch in the face." Chan Lee said.
"I know that feeling." Roxas said thinking about Klay.
"Besides, after our battle today you got moves. I like to keep a close eye on the competition." Chan Lee said.
"Next time we battle I'll be the winner." Roxas assures.
"Well in the meantime you better get stronger." Chan Lee smiles.
Eating his ice cream, Roxas was more than happy to rise to that challenge.
He might not have gotten the answer to the questions he wanted but he definitely found something he needed to figure out in the meantime.
