Kakashi had left the position of Hokage three years ago and the twins were ten years old now.

Whenever he was home he would work on training them and building on anything that Sasuke and Naruto had already taught them. Sasuke had already started teaching them Chidori and Kakashi was now teaching them to do a purple variation that he'd come up with that was a lot stronger.

The twins had both water and lightning as their main types, so he and Shanan also passed on the techniques that they'd made when they were kids in the Kaitei and Shanan's real world Storm Cloud Jutsu.

The kids really were gifted and very lucky to be trained by so many talented shinobi.

But it wasn't always business when Kakashi was home. He wasn't their Sensei and he never acted like he was. He always tried to make sure they had fun while they were training and also when they weren't, all they did was have fun with Kakashi. So in fact, it was rarely business when Kakashi was home.

Tonight they'd been invited to have dinner with Naruto and Hinata and Shanan was happy to see that Sasuke was there too. She always loved spending time with the guys together. She did wish that Sasuke had a family too, but she still had hope for him.

And Shanan had cried when Naruto became a dad. She went to the hospital and supported Hinata as much as she could during the birth of Boruto, but she also helped Naruto to help Hinata. And Shanan always cried when Naruto did anything sweet for Hinata. Watching him love her made Shanan very proud of him.

And tonight was no different. Naruto helped Hinata in the kitchen and hugged her and kissed her and they both cooked and Shanan cried as they did.

"Why are you like this?" Sasuke asked her when he saw her wipe a tear.

Shanan laughed a little. "Shut up. I'm a proud big sister. My baby brother is a man now and he's kind and affectionate and perfect. I'm just happy that he's happy and that his wife is happy."

Sasuke looked into the kitchen at them. "Yeah, he does a pretty good job, for being an idiot."

"That's Lord Idiot now," Kakashi corrected him as he sat next to Shanan. "Crying about Naruto again?"

"Why are you guys picking on me? Yes, I'm crying about Naruto. Again!"

"She does this a lot," Kakashi told him.

"Oh, I'm aware."

"I cry for you guys all the time. Ask each other," she said as she laughed.

They both nodded and then laughed.

"I'm gonna go see if they need help," she said as she got up.

Naruto and Hinata were laughing about something as Shanan walked up to them.

"Oh hey, sis. Did ya wanna help?"

"Yeah. Besides, those two are teasing me."

"Why? Cause you keep looking in here and crying?" he said as he laughed.

"I'm leaving!" Shanan yelled as she walked away dramatically.

Naruto ran and picked her up and set her back down next to Hinata. "Here, you guys cook. I'll go sit with the guys and catch up. You big baby," he said as he made his way to the couch.

Shanan looked at Hinata and laughed as she took over what Naruto was doing. "I'm glad he leaves early once a week. I know it's hard for him to get away."

Hinata nodded. "Yes, he'll certainly have more work to do tomorrow. But the kids always enjoy having him home."

"It's been really nice seeing the twins and Kakashi interact so much. A lot of the time I just sit and watch them and they're all so much happier."

"Yes. You've always liked watching people, haven't you? And cheering for them on the sidelines when you see them happy. I've always felt supported by you, you know?" Hinata told her softly.

Shanan looked at her with tears in her eyes. "Hinata, I'm so happy we're sisters! I'll always support you," she said as she hugged her.

"I'll always support you too, sis!" Hinata said through tears.

All three of the men were watching them now.

"Why is she like this?!" Sasuke asked again.

"At this rate we'll never eat," Naruto said quietly.

Kakashi stood up and made his way into the kitchen. "Ladies."

They stopped hugging as they looked at him and wiped their tears.

"Hinata, why don't you go and spend some time with Naruto on his night off. Shanan and I've got this," he told her as he took the spatula from her hand.

"No, but you're my guests," she tried to protest.

"Please, as former Hokage, I insist."

Hinata relented and gave him a slight, respectful bow and went to the living room.

"I love the way you invoke 'former Hokage' to get your way," Shanan joked.

"Works every time," he grinned. "I see the twins and Boruto are out back training Himawari on taijutsu," he said as he looked out the window. "Yuki is relentless on those boys, I think she'll be a good influence on Himawari."

Shanan nodded. "Did you know she can use Shadow Possession?"

Kakashi glanced over at Shanan. "How would she be able to do that?"

Shanan smiled at Kakashi, "I had Uncle Neji scan them the other day and they both have dual chakra sources. I think she's been holding hands with Shikadai."

Kakashi dropped his head. "Not my little girl. In love already...?"

"Were you not in love with me when you were ten?" she reminded him.

"That was different. We lived together and I knew you my whole life."

"Nah, it's not that different. He's a good kid. Shikamaru goes on and on about him when we have coffee."

"I just hope he doesn't break her little heart," he said gently.

"I wouldn't worry about her, my love. She's pretty fierce."

Kakashi smiled at her. "What about Hiro? Any crushes there?"

"Nope. Even though he could have any of the girls in his class. They all like him, you know... just like his dad."

"Well, as long as it doesn't go to his head," he said as he looked back out at them.

"I wouldn't worry about him, my love," she sang. "He doesn't care about them, just like you."

Kakashi thought for a moment. "Well, then there is someone. I mean, I didn't care about them in the real world either, but that was for reasons Hiroshi wouldn't have."

Shanan stopped and looked at him thoughtfully. "Huh. Maybe you're right. I wonder who it is..."

"You know, come to think of it, I've seen him acting like a complete idiot around Tomoe quite a bit."

Shanan immediately teared up as she put her hands over her mouth. "Are you serious?"

"Calm down," he told her. "That might not be who it is."

"No, I think it is. That's why he always wants to visit Uncle Neji. He loves Tomoe..." she said as she beamed out at her kids.

"Can we finish cooking, or are you actually going to cry at everyone tonight?" he chuckled.

"I haven't cried at Sasuke yet..." she joked.

"Oh brother..."

Kakashi ended up doing most of the cooking and they all finally ate and talked.

"Uncle Sasuke, dad is teaching us his purple Chidori!" Hiro told him.

"Oh really? Even I can't do purple Chidori."

"No fair! I wanna learn too, Uncle Kakashi." Boruto said.

"Sure, I'll come and get you tomorrow and we can start working on it. If that's alright with your parents," he said as he looked over at Naruto and Hinata.

"I'm fine with it." Naruto shrugged.

"Yes, that's ok!" Hinata agreed.

"Alright, just be ready first thing," Kakashi told him. "Have you perfected no-handed jutsu too?" he asked. He figured he probably had, the same as the twins, but he hadn't had the opportunity to train with Boruto as much as them.

"Of course he has, Kakashi Sensei!" Naruto yelled.

"Why would you even ask that?" Sasuke asked a bit incredulously.

"Oh, my love, obviously he would know how to do that already."

"It's the Konoha Orphan Three Clan's signature technique. Of course we're passing it on to our kids!" Naruto added loudly.

Kakashi sighed very audibly. "Sorry I asked," he said as he rubbed the back of his head.

"You precious angel," Shanan said as she shook her head and patted his shoulder before they all burst into laughter.

The no-handed jutsu had been one of the first techniques they'd all instilled into the kids when they started training ninjutsu. And the power of visualization was a useful tool either way.

They spent the rest of the night discussing the various techniques they'd come up with over the years, which led to Shanan talking about how she and Kakashi had spent four months working on him learning how to do no-handed jutsu and about how much he'd fallen in love with her during that time and then about how the Kaitei had happened shortly after that. Kakashi always enjoyed it when she gushed about his feelings for her and was still thankful everyday that she shared those same feelings for him. The twins, especially, always enjoyed the story of how they'd existed inside of the Kaitei and were basically Shanan and Kakashi's dreams come true.

They ended up having to carry the twins home since they'd stayed so late and Sasuke insisted on helping so that Shanan wouldn't have to do any heavy lifting. They were big kids now.

Once they'd gotten the twins tucked into their beds and saw Sasuke off, Kakashi insisted on spending the next few hours showing his appreciation to Shanan for the way she'd talked about them at dinner.

They'd been together for so long in their minds, but they were both often surprised at how new and intense their love for each other felt.
