Ruthless Tommy
"Have fun with Grandpa, Tommy!" Didi said, walking out the door… and shutting it behind her. Because she wasn't a moron who just left doors wide open. Especially with a baby in the house!
Tommy just stared at the now shut door. Yes, his house had so many fun things in it; his toys, his bottles, his stuffed aminals and his blankies. He loved his house so very much. But out there was… mystery! Excitement! That door was his ticket outside! Yes, his mommy had closed it but Tommy knew he could figure a way out! And when he did he'd get to experience so many new and exciting things! In fact he was sure his mommy had meant to keep it open for him… yes, he was sure of it! She WANTED him to go outside! Because mommy loved him and knew he loved ADVENTURE!
Pretending to fall asleep Tommy waited for his grandpa to take his own nap before he quickly got up and grabbed the pair of pliers he'd hidden in his playpen, walking over to the latch… only to find it wouldn't move!
Tommy had completely forgotten that after his first birthday his dad had decided to glue the latch shut so it wouldn't come open.
Grunt and straining, the baby spent 20 minutes trying to free himself before he heard his grandpa wake up. But as he hurried to hide the pliers his grandpa spotted the tool and frowned.
"Dang gumit Stu, ya can't leave things like this out! Tommy might get hurt!" Lou took the tool away, Tommy's lip trembling before he burst out crying. "Sorry sprout but this is a big boy toy," Lou said, pocketing the pliers and walking away.
Tommy, seeing his grandpa wasn't going to give in and give him the tool back, fell onto his body and sobbed. It wasn't fair! It wasn't fair at all! Why did this keep happening? What was so horrible about him just wanting to explore? It wasn't like he'd get hurt! He was a baby! Babies never got hurt! What was so dangerous out there?
Meanwhile, outside his house, two dim witted criminals finally realized they were at the wrong house and drove away when they DIDN'T see an unattended baby just wandering around.
"Alright, so nice and easy!" the first criminal said to his brother as they finally rolled up to Mr. Thump's mansion. He got out of the car and smirked as he saw Mr. Thump's son Ronald Thump Jr. playing in the yard, happily sticking his face in the pristine white sand in his sandbox. "We grab him, nice and quick."
"Right!" his brother said, chewing on a banana as they snuck onto the estate. "One… two…"
"INTRUDERS! SHOOT TO KILL!"
Because of course Ronald Thump had security. He was a millionaire and not a idiot.
Back at his house Tommy sighed, no one coming to comfort him. 'Mommy and daddy don't let me have fun at all!'
