Candy Bar Creep Show
"That's it, guys!" Tommy said excitedly "We have to scream out there in the haubid house! That's how we'll get our Reptar Bars!"
"But Tommy," Chuckie said, "how are we supposed to get out there? We can't leave the playpen anymore."
Tommy had been thinking about that. His mommy and daddy had made it so he couldn't open the latch with his studriver anymore. But Tommy was a determined baby and had come up with a plan.
"I know how!" He said with a grin. "Help me pile up our toys!"
Eventually they'd made a crude ramp out of blocks and stuffed animals, one that Tommy slowly began to crawl up. It took trial and error, and more than once he toppled down, but finally he managed to get to the top.
"Okay, here I go!" he said excitedly.
"I can't look!" Chuckie said, covering his eyes.
"One… two… three!" Tommy did a little somersault off the makeshift ramp, spinning before he came down right on his padded behind. He winced, a bit startled by the sudden stop, but was happy to see that he'd finally figured a way out of the playpen. "We did it guys! Come on!"
"Okay!" Phil said. "So we just have to get to the haubid house and scream?"
"Of course! And when we do we'll get our-"
"Oh! Phil!"
Tommy turned, eyes wide in shock as his mommy and daddy ran in and grabbed Phil before he could take his tumble out of the playpen. "And how did you get out?" Didi said, reaching down for Tommy. But the baby, knowing that if she grabbed him he'd just end right back up in the playpen, hurried between her legs just as she reached down, wobbling and stumbling as he rushed along as quickly as he could. His mommy called his name and Tommy ducked to avoid his father's lunge, though that did cause him to fall down and Tommy decided to crawl as fast as his little diapered bottom could go.
"Whoa!" his grandpa said as Tommy hurried past him. "Where are ya goin', Sprout?"
Ignoring him Tommy practically threw himself into the garage before letting out a scream.
…nothing happened.
He looked around, confused.
"Someone is hyper today!" Didi said, finally catching up to Tommy and lifting him up. The baby fussy and struggled to escape her grasp but his mommy held firm.
"Guess we shouldn't give him his Reptar Bar," Stu said with a shake of his head. "He's already so energetic it will just keep him up…"
"We'll save it for tomorrow.
Tommy froze, having stopped listening when his daddy said he was going to get a Reptar bar. He didn't hear his mommy at all, focusing only on his daddy saying no Reptar Bars… because he'd gone on an adventure.
It was a confused and frustrated baby who threw back his head and howled all the way upstairs, his parents deciding on an early bed time.
