"Disadvantages of Eavesdropping"

By Tilted Star

Summary: It's Valentine's Day and Aerith decides to do a little eavesdropping at Yuffie's door! What will she hear? A challenge drabble.

Aerith paced up and down the corridor outside Cloud's room. It was Valentine's Day and thus a perfect day to profess her feelings for Cloud. However, it was only morning and she was already wringing her hands in uneasiness, apprehensive about Cloud's response. What if… what if he doesn't feel the same? I'll be making a fool of myself…

Finally, after what seemed like hours, Aerith mustered enough courage to raise a hand and rattle Cloud's door. She closed her eyes and held her breath, feeling jittery about this. A few minutes passed by and Cloud still hadn't answered the door. Aerith frowned, twisting the doorknob and peering into the dimly lit room, searching for the silhouette of the spiky-headed guy. Sensing that Cloud wasn't in his room, Aerith sighed and closed the door.

Aerith was about to return to the kitchen when she heard some voices coming from Yuffie's room. Letting her curiosity get the better of her, Aerith approached Yuffie's room and pressed her ear against the door.

"Cloooouuuddd!" Aerith recognised Sora's voice. What's Sora doing in Yuffie's room anyway? "Why don't you try this, it's good, you know…"

"No." came Cloud's voice.

"Pwease?" Sora whined.

"But it looks a little too… hard."

"You can suck it if you want."

Aerith gulped, her eyes widening to the size of saucers. Suck what?

"Maybe you should ask Yuffie instead, she's right here."

"But Cloud, I really wanted you to be the first."

Various thoughts raced through Aerith's mind, as she thought she had a pretty good idea what was going on in the room.

"Well, I said no. And that's final."

"Aww… Please please? Dearest Cloudy-kins, please?"

"…"

"Alright then, looks like I'll have to force this down your throat, then."

"Oh, no! You're not going to do tha-" Cloud's sentence was cut short, making Aerith cover her mouth to stop it from producing a shriek, squeezing her eyes shut in disgust. This is bad, what is he doing to my dear Cloudy?!

"Why won't you say something, dear?" Sora said in a sweet voice, stressing on the word 'dear'.

After much struggling, Cloud's voice was heard again. "It's bad."

"Told ya, Cloud. You should have tried mine." Yuffie chimed in, for the first time. "I'm more experienced."

Aerith couldn't take it. I HAVE TO SAVE MY DEAR CLOUDY, she screamed in her mind. With that, she barged into the room and marched up in front of Sora and Yuffie.

"Hey Aerith," Yuffie grinned brightly when she saw the flower girl, "Sora and I are having a cookie contest, you know, to see who can bake better cookies. Wanna try some?"

A/N: Ah, well. I know this idea is kinda common, but I can't think of anything else to write, 'cause I ran out of ideas.
