Hello there lads and lassies, before we continue the story, I shall note out that new chapters will not come out as frequently, due to online studies and some other stuff that I have no energy to particularly dive into, without further ado, I present Chapter 2.

"Nowhere huh?" Brenda stated as her eyes rolled left and right, inspecting from corner to corner, for weapons maybe, or the general clue that might tell her who the two were. "You have any weapons with you?" she added.

"We only have that gun," Luna said as she pointed her index finger to the handgun lying on the cold dirty tile, a knife won't do them any good against a crowd of those beasts.

Brenda looked down to the floor and picked the polymer-framed gun up with her right hand, "this?" she asked before passing it to Luna. "So Jesse, where did you both come from?"

"We were from... Ohio," Luna lied, hiding their story.

"Why did you leave?" Brenda asked with a grin on her face. "Some drama with a lover maybe,"

Luna stuttered, trying to come up with a lie, "n-" a scream broke the conversation as one of the beasts ran into the station, catching them by surprise, the three heavily armed survivors opened fire upon the general direction of the humanoid beast. Its sharp yellow teeth latched on the Asian man's neck and its hoofed feet kicking the poor man's body. Fearing that they might shoot their friends. Jim pulled the beast off, only for his face to be bitten to shreds. Blood puddled on the floor, and Brenda opened fire on the beast, caving its skull-like head into a pulp.

"Oh fuck, my face," Jim cried out as he held a piece of his cheek that was ripped off the furry creature. "Oh shit, Paul!" Jim exclaimed as the Asian man or Paul's body turned limp. "Brenda he's dead,"

"Shit," Brenda said as she aimed her rifle at the door, more screams echoed.

Fearing for Lily's survival Luna picked up Paul's automatic rifle and aimed at the only opening the beasts were flowing through, the front door. The rifle was heavy, but it meant some business. The screams and the thunderous foot poundings neared their location. Lily froze in fear as her eyes were served the sight of a man laid lifeless on the floor, all this while Luna hid her from death and despair. In the end, death will always remain victorious.

"L-Lun..a" Lily stuttered quietly as she retreated into the office.

"Kid..," Jim said under his breath as he tried to reach Lily, but his approach ended with Lily screaming for help, the sight of the man's bloody face was enough to scare the living shit out of the blonde girl.

The kid's weeps echoed through the room, worried Luna turned around and hugged the kid, then the beasts arrive, one by one emerge from the door, their exposed deer skull-like head shrieked, their long-clawed hands stretched, and their deer legs split, it taunted the remaining two fighters in the room, shrieking and screaming. With Lily in her arms, Luna opened fire, caving the creature's head in, others now angered they lunged, but all were shot down by Luna, whom all the beasts focused on.

One, two and three, the bullets stopped flying as the weak ravenous creatures met their makers. Shocked by the adrenaline, Luna laid the rifle beside her, tightening her hug as Lily continued to cry on her shirt. "I'm sorry you had to see that Lils," Luna said.

The heartfelt moment died as another freak of nature screamed, this one is not like the other dozen that died easily, it was bigger, it had mountain sheep horns on its head and spikes down its spine, surprisingly it kept the fur the others had. Luna grabbed the rifle she laid down before, as the trigger was pulled, the sound of unholy clicking started, the magazine was empty. The creature screamed, Luna threw Lily back into the back room and closed the door as fast as she could. To which Lily protested by pounding on the door continuously. With teary eyes Luna lunged at the creature with the rifle, hitting it twice before getting thrown to the side. "Is that all you got?" Luna taunted it, the mindless creature it was didn't understand nor flinch at what she had to say, with its claws drawn it closed in on the injured twenty years old.

With all her might Luna stood up, grabbing a broken piece of metal from the shelf, holding it like a bat she stroked the creature hard, but nothing happened, like before it did not flinch. Seemingly out of nowhere its head blew open, forming a huge crater on its head. Its lifeless body fell on the dirty tiled floor and Luna saw Brenda, behind the counter with her rifle smoking.

"Cheers," Luna said as she gasped for hair. "Oh god, Lils,"

She swung the door open, and there Lily was crying as she helped the injured Jim with his torn face. Not a word came out of her mouth, she pulled Lily into a hug, "Please don't do that again," Lily said.

Outside, the sun rose up to its throne, reclaiming its rightful spot in the kingdom of God and demons. "You good Jesse?" Brenda asked Luna, her shirt was ripped, and her face was bruised by the brawl.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Luna replied as she stood up, breaking the tight hug.

"You fine back there Jim?" Brenda asked as she looked at Jim.

"Yeah, my pretty face ain't going away yet," Jim replied jokingly, how could he joke when half of his face was ripped? Coping mechanism maybe. Then his jolly tone died as he asked "What should we do with Paul?"

"Burn him, and the station, we can let them defile a man like him," Brenda replied as she kneels in front of her dead comrade. "Rest in peace brother,"

"Who are you people anyway?" Luna asked as she placed her right hand on her right leg, "You people are certainly not a bunch of wanderers"

"We're from a settlement not far west," Brenda replied, "You two should come with us, get some food, and you did say you weren't heading anywhere"

"No thanks, we're fine-" Luna was cut-offed by Lily who tugged on her shirt.

"Lun.. I mean mom, we should go there, you're sick," Lily said. "Just for a few days"

They needed food, they need water, they need meds, a few days won't hurt, Luna thought to herself, "Okay we'll go," Luna told Brenda who had already picked Jim up.

"Splendid, now come on let's go to town," Brenda said as she brought Jim up, Luna went back in the back room, and grabbed what's left, their backpacks, and their sleeping bags, good things are hard to find nowadays. "Luna you might need a jacket, take Paul's he won't need it anymore," Brenda said.

Morbidly true, Paul is dead, why would he need it, and yeah she's not at all sensitive about death, different people, have different coping mechanisms she guessed. In a jiffy, Luna picked the olive drab jacket off of the corpse. The jacket was denim, tough material.

"Thanks... Paul," Luna said as she puts the jacket on, saddling the rucksack she walked, following the two acquaintances. "C'mon Lils," Luna said as she held her hand out to Lily, to which Lily gladly held on to along the way.

Hope it's not too short, 'til next time mates.

Edit: the extra "where" in the beginning, sorry.
