Issue #0: Along Came a Spider
Years ago...
"Eureka!"
Seth had finally done it, he had created the ultimate superweapon! It was simple really, just a couple of tools and he had completed it.
A spider, but not just any normal spider, it was one of a kind. Now all he had to do was-
"Hey! Seth, you still in here?" Seth heard his buddy Andrew call out.
"Yeah, I'll be out in a sec," Seth answered back.
He put the spider in a glass container and put the lid on.
"I'll come back for you later Lucas, until then, don't you go anywhere!" Seth said to the spider, then he left the room completely, closing the door completely.
10 minutes later...
Lucas began to crawl from the container and using one of its legs, lifted the lid and crawled out from the container onto the table.
Lucas made his way from the table, crawling onto the leg of the table and onto the floor, where it spotted a crack and slipped right in through it. Lucas continued to crawl, waiting for the day to come when his purpose would finally be fulfilled.
About 5 hours later...
"Ahhhhh, man. That was fun," Seth said as he opened the door to his room, and closed it behind him.
"Lucas buddy, hope you-" And that's when Seth froze.
Lucas was gone. He wasn't in the container anymore.
"Lucas?" Seth called out, hoping that the spider would come crawling back. When that didn't work, he repeated again, "Lucas?"
He expected that the spider would appear any second and crawl right back into the box. But, nothing worked. The spider didn't show up.
Seth began to search his room repeatedly, looking under his bed, in the closet, the drawers, his clothes.
When he couldn't find anything, he checked the whole house starting with the living room, then the kitchen, the bathroom, and his parent's room.
His journey trying to look for Lucas, eventually led him back into his room where he searched long and hard, but no matter how hard he looked, he just couldn't find Lucas.
Osborn was going to come down on him like a storm. He hoped that Stormin' Norman would be reasonable and just let it slide. But knowing the boss and how he hated failure, it wouldn't end well for him.
Lucas. I hope wherever you are, that you're safe and sound. I pray that you're not dead or about to die.
A single tear rolled down Seth's eye as stared outside his window.
Someday, we'll meet again, Lucas. No, we're gonna meet again. I'm sure of it.
I hope.
