A/N: Since so many of you loved 'Melting the ice around her heart', I decided to do another Bella/Edward 1918 love story but this one will be shorter, like my last story, updates will be scattered. (Will be in Edward's POV) Two-shot.

Disclaimer: I know some people have already done something like this before, but I'm NOT plagiarizing anyone's works and I'm sorry if it seems like I am but I am not.

Summary: Edward Masen is quickly losing his fight against the Spanish Influenza when Isabella Swan, a fellow patient of the illness, moves into his room; he knows that he can't let her die. Even in the midst of death, people can still fall in love, no matter how much time they have left.

Will both of them convince the other to fight this so they can stay with their soulmate?

Do I want this mysterious cure my doctor is talking about?

I look at Dr. Cullen with hesitant eyes.

"Use it for Bella, you must save her!" I insist. Dr. Cullen looks at me. "Edward, I need you to think about you for a minute: do you want to live?" He asks urgently. I close my eyes, thinking of my Bella all alone, clinging to life.

"GIVE IT TO BELLA, GIVE IT TO HER!" I scream at the doctor, who nods at me. "Okay, okay, Edward, the cure will make you and Bella immortal, which means you'll have eternity together, you'll never die. You can be together forever, but there are some drawbacks to the cure." Dr Cullen is saying but all I'm hearing is that me and Bella will be together forever.

"I DON'T CARE!" I scream, my throat hurting from screaming. Dr. Cullen sighs. "I can save you both." He mutters under his breath before he leans over me, his teeth at my throat.

Why is he leaning over me?

Why hasn't he left to save my wife with this cure?

"I'm sorry, Edward." Dr. Cullen tells me before he bites onto my neck.

Almost immediately fire is flowing through me as I fight it.

Why am I burning?

What has Dr. Cullen done to me?

Is he a fan of Devil's magic?

Why am I burning?

Once again I've lost all track of time as I burn from the inside out.

Finally, the fire starts receding from my body as I open my eyes, shocked about how I'm alive. I was near death and now it's like I was never sick. A burning sensation at the back of my throat is what brings me out of my amazement. I hear movement near the window and see Dr. Cullen, the man who bit me.

"What did you do to me?" I growl at him. A flash of brown hair and brown eyes flash through my mind. Bella. I think to myself, Bella is my wife, what happened to her?

"Where's Bella? Where's my wife? What did you do to her?" I demand of him, the fire at the back of my throat forgotten.

"It's alright Edward, Bella is fine, she's at the end of the corridor you may go see her but if you value people's lives, I suggest keeping to this end of the hospital." He tells me, I nod curtly before opening the door, ripping it from the hinges, and walking down the hall to see my wife.

I can hear a soft voice humming at the end of the hall. The door at the end of the corridor is open a little bit, allowing me to peek in and see a girl around my age with brunette hair, sitting in a rocking chair, near a burning fire, with a book in her lap and humming a tune. This must be Bella, my wife.

"Bella?" I say hestinly as I enter the room. She looks up from the book and gives me a smile as she stands up.

"Are you my husband? Are you Edward?" She asks, her voice like a thousand bells. I nod and she instantly falls into my arms, her scent intoxicating me.

"Thank you for saving my life, I'm eternally indebted to you." She says, I chuckle, shaking my head. "If anyone is indebted to anyone, I'm indebted to you." Bella pulls away from the big and smiles, putting her hand on my cheek.

"Let's just call it even and say we saved each other."

I agree with her because in a way we did save each other from succumbing to the disease, if we hadn't met each other we'd both be dead.

"We did save each other." I say just before Bella's lips are on mine, kissing me.

After several minutes we pull away and lean our foreheads against each other's and smile.

"I love you, Edward."

"I love you too, Bella."

It just goes to show that even in the midst of death, you can still find your soulmate, no matter how much time you have left.
