This is an idea I came up with a while ago, when I got into playing Medal of Honor again… How could I do something with that and FFVIII… Well, thanks to Ultimecia, I finally found the perfect excuse – "past, present and future all in one world" – I can see it now!

This story is just really, really… aberrant… It's going to be a little serious, but humorous. The MOH games themselves tend to make jokes all over the place – some of them are pretty good too, but you have to pay attention to really catch them, because their hidden. Others, like the demo movie in the first one… Well, that's beyond words. It taught me how to say 'The American has dog biscuits in his pocket'… I guess it's like "The Great Escape"; serious, but funny at times. I actually watched that movie about four times this past weekend… It makes me cry, but it's a good film.

So, this'll be humorous – maybe with just a touch of "All's Quiet on the Western Front".

The Cynical Jackasses Heard It Old School

By Burning Bridges

Part One: Introduction

"Always give a stranger a chance, child.

'Cause if you don't, they'll remain a stranger."

-'Little House on the Prairie'

Ultimecia looked out over the torn sea, watching creatures skim the surface, only to dive back into the darkness that ever-enticed the human race to explore the brine. Small ships passed in the distance, the tempestuous waters tossing the vessels unkindly.

The sea didn't care what they were there for, or whether they lived. Like SeeDs…

"They're coming," she said to herself calmly, "They're almost here. They'll sneak in, and try to destroy me."

She knew exactly where they were on the path to the anchored castle, and what condition they were in, and when they'd arrive.

"I won't make it easy for them."

She already knew that the monsters that guarded her chambers would not defeat them, and that, even if weakened, they'd come after her in this, the most sacred room of her flying citadel.

"I'll begin to weave the incantation now, and bind them in it when they least expect…"

Scanning the sandy land miles down under her castle, she spotted her would-be destroyers… A brunette with eyes like ice, and a blond with a soul of fire.

That's only the intro – I'll be posting the beginning of the story soon, and I hope you'll like it!

Review, if you please.

Seifer and Squall sat elbow to elbow a few feet into a forgotten shaft

Ultimecia compresses time again, S&S are there together, get into shaft to avoid monsters for a while, crawl deeper in, find group from past brought here by Ultimecia's powers, sitting and discussing the war (WWII), they eventually go down (shaft breaks?), and they ask what they're doing there, response:

"How should we know? We're just a part of your…"
