I timed myself five minutes to write this. This is what I got. Points to whoever can guess the characters in this drabble. I purposely refused to name them. There are clues though, but they may not be very clear.
He wasn't sure of what he was doing. Walking there in the middle of the night didn't help the situation either. In a normal state of mind he would have called himself stupid, turned around and gone to bed. But as it was he wasn't in that state of mind.
He was surprised to see her walking in his direction, had been sure that he would have had to walk the whole way to see her but like always she kept surprising him. She knew exactly what he needed and took his hand. She led him down the hall to where she lived and pulled him into her room before pulling him into a hug where he could let go of the turmoil inside.
She was the only person he felt he could break down in front of and not feel ashamed. She was the only one who wouldn't judge or laugh at him. Instead she offered him comfort and acceptance. She was his touchstone.
He sank to the floor and began to cry, letting out the despair he felt after reading the letter. She was dead. His mother, not even fifty, was dead because of a stupid mistake. His companion said nothing, but held him closer, knowing words wouldn't be enough. They never were.
She held him till he was done and then continued to hold him as he slept, worn by his out powering emotions.
EAN: This drabble was originally on LJ which made it harder to guess the pairing. However now that its on is obviously easier. However I plan on writing other five minute drabbles about various pairings
