Hagrid took Harry and Tom and Jerry to London. From there, Harry read through his list of books of items that was needed for his first years.
"All students must requier a name tag at all times. They are to bring if they desire, eather an owl, a cat, or a toad. Parents and Gardions are reminded that first years are not aloud to bring their own brooms."
"Can we find all this in London?" Tom asked.
"If you know where to go." Hagrid said as he lead them into a wizarding pub invisible to muggles. The pub was called, The Leaky Cauldron.
Inside, many people were seen eating and drinking. Until the bartender saw Hagrid.
"Hello Hagrid. The usile I suppose?"
"No thanks Tom. I'm here in offical Hogwarts busness. Just helping young Harry here buy his school items."
"Bless my soul. It's Harry Potter."
The moment he said that, all the witches and wizards turned to him.
"Harry Potter."
"Welcome back Mr. Potter."
"Good to see you at last Mr. Potter."
"H-H-Harry P-Potter." Said a man with a purple clouth on his head.
"Ah. Professor. Didn't expect to see you here. Harry. This is Professor Quirrell. He'll be your Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts."
"Yes. A f-fasinating s-s-subject. Not t-that you'll n-n-need it. Fact i'm on m-my way to p-p-pick up a new b-book on v-v-vampires."
"Well, we best be on. Lots ot buy." Hagrid said as he took the trio out back to a brick wall. "See Harry? You're famous."
"But why am I famous Hagrid?" Harrk asked.
"All those people. How do they know who Harry is?" Jerry asked.
"Well, we'll talk about it later." Hagrid said as he moved his umbrella onto some of the bricks. "Three up. Two across."
The three watched amazed as the bricks moved. And then revealed a wizarding shopping district.
"Welcome boys to Diagon Alley."
The trio was amazed at the place. They past by the shops and Jerry was amazed at the huge pair of golden sizers moving. There was even a pet shop.
"Wow." Said a boy who was looking through the window of a broom shop. "Look at it. The new Nimbus 2000. It's the fastest moddle yet."
"Hagrid. How am I gonna get all this?" Harry asked. "I don't have any money."
"Well there's your money Harry." Hagrid said as he pointed up ahead. "Gringotts. The wizard bank. An't no safer place than there. Except Hogwarts."
As they walked to the front door, Tom spotted some text on a sign close by.
"Whoa. You'd be mad to rob this place." He said.
Inside, they saw tiny creatures doing paper work.
"Hagrid. What are those things?" Jerry asked.
"They're goblins Jerry. Quite clever as they come. But not very friendly. Best you three stay close."
By then, they had eached the tellers desk.
"Excuse me." Hagrid said to the teller. "Mr. Harry Potter wishes to make a withdraw."
"And does Mr. Harry Potter have his key?"
"Hold on." Hagrid said as he looked and then pulled out a key and a letter. "Here's the little devil. Also, Professor Dumbledore gave me this. It's about the you know what. In vault you know which."
"Very well then. Griphook will escort you."
The ride on the mine cart was a lot of fun to Harry and Tom and Jerry. Until they had to stop at the requiered vault.
"Vault 687." Griphook said as they all got out. "Lamp please."
Hagrid gave him the lamp.
"Key please."
Hagrid then gave him the key. Griphook then inserted the key into the hole and unlocked the vault. And when the door opened, Harry and Tom and Jerry were stunned. Inside was a whole bunch of gold and silver and bronze coins. More gold than silver and bronze.
"Bronze Knuts. Silver Sickles. Gold Galleons." Said Griphook.
"Thought your parents didn't leave you anything did they?" Hagrid asked.
Of course, Harry had found a magical bag that has a zero on it in black ink.
"That's a wizarding wallet Mr. Potter." Said Griphook. "It keeps track of your money by Knuts. 27 Knuts add to a Sickle. 48 Knuts and 18 Sickles to a Galleon. Use it to take as much as you need."
And he did. It amazed him as the number on the bag increased with every coin he added.
"Vault 713."
"What's in there Hagrid?" Harry asked.
"I can't tell you. Hogwarts busness."
"Stand back." Griphook said as he moved his claw on the door.
And then, the door opened and revealed, just a small raped up package which Hagrid walked in and grab.
"Best you three don't mention this to anybody."
"Might as well get your uniform." Said Hagrid.
"Later. I wanna start at the book shop." Said Harry.
Having got his money, Harry started with the book shop. Florish and Blots. Aparently, Hagrid tried to convince Harry to buy only the things on the list. But Harry was to destent to buy more as he wented to know everything about the wizarding world.
"Harry. I'm telling you. You're only aloud the books on the list."
"Then I won't know everything about the wizarding world if I don't get all of these."
"But,"
"I like this one." He said as he grabbed a copy of Hogwarts A History. Then Quidditch Through The Ages. And many others the got to him no matter how hard Hagrid tried to stop him but failed. And he bought all of them as well as the course books.
Next they went to the potions shop. Hagrid also tried to not let Harry buy a solid gold cauldron. But Harry still bought it anyway.
"Sorry Hagrid. I couldn't resist it. And I had enough for it anyway."
Harry then went and got the rest of his stuff. Hagrid also tried to stop him form buying a remembrall. But Harry still bought it anyway in case he needed to remember something he might forget.
BAM!
"Oh not again. Not now." Said Harry. "Tom! Jerry! Stop!"
Harry chased Tom and Jerry into Madam Milken's Robes which was his next stop anyway. He did manage to grab their tails to stop them.
"I sware. One of these days your gonna get hurt so bad you might not even recover." He said to them. "Alright. Who started it this time?"
"It was Jerry!" Tom shouted.
"No! Tom did it!" Jerry protested.
"Never mind then." Harry said as he walked to Madam Milken. "Excuse me."
"Hello dear. First year at Hogwarts?"
"Yes ma'am."
She then meshered him.
"I'll have your robes ready soon. So why don't you wait in the back?"
Harry walked to the back and sat down and started reading Hogwarts A History. The moment he did, a boy with blond hair walked over to him.
"Hello. Hogwarts to?"
"Yes."
"My father's next door buying my books and my mother's down the street looking at wands. Then I'm gonna drag them to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first years are not aloud to have brooms."
"It says here first years are not aloud brooms because they're not aloud to play Quidditch." Said Harry. "Only if you're really good they make ecseptions for first years."
"Well I don't care. I think I'll bully Father to get me one somehow and then I'll smuggle it in."
This boy reminded Harry and Tom and Jerry of Dudley. This boy was just like him.
"Have you got your own broom?"
"No. Like I said. We're not aloud broom because we're not aloud to play Quidditch."
"Well did you play Quidditch at all?"
"No he didn't." Said Jerry.
"Shut it! I wasn't talk to you!"
"Then you shut your mouth!" Tom shouted.
"You shut it pussy cat!"
Harry wondered if the boy was surprised or not that Tom and Jerry can talk. He wasn't saying anything about it.
"Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked for the team. Know what house you'll be in yet?"
"No." Harry said as he looked at the page taking about the four houses. "But by the looks of it, Gryffindor sounds like my kind of house."
"Really? You look more like a Ravenclaw. No one really knows until they get there. But I know I'll be in Slytherin. All my family has been in Slytherin. If I were to be in Hufflepuff I'd leave straight away. Wouldn't you?"
"No. I'd be happy there."
"I say look at that man." The boy said pointed at Hagrid standing outside with a snowy owl in a cage.
"That's Hagrid." Said Jerry.
"He works at Hogwarts." Said Tom.
"Oh I heard of him. He's a servent."
"He's the gamekeeper." Said Harry. He and Tom and Jerry were disliking the boy every next second.
"Yes. He's exactly. I heard he's a sort of savage. He lives in a hut on the school grounds and every second he gets drunck and tries to use magic and ends up setting fire to his bed."
"We think he's brillient!" Jerry said coldly.
"Do you? Why? Is he with you? Where are your parents?"
"Dead." Said Harry. "But they're magical."
"So they were our kind and not form the other sort. They should keep magic only in wizarding families."
"Well his mother was from a muggle family." Said Tom.
"His mother was a Mudblood?! That makes you a dsgrase to our kind!"
"Ahem!" Madam Milken cleared her throut as she returned. "There will be no use of that word in my shop! And you dear. Your robes are all set."
Harry got up and took his robes and left to Hagrid with the owl.
"Happy Birthday Harry."
"She's beautiful." Said Harry.
"Her names Hedwig." Said Hagrid.
"I bet the name came form the history book in my year." Harry said as he had seen the name in the book. "Just my wand left now."
"Well you'll want Olivanders." Hagrid said as he pointed to the next shop. "You go on and I'll wait for you at the pub."
Harry then walked inside with Tom and Jerry following.
"Hello?" He called.
And then, Mr. Olivander zoomed in on his ladder.
"I wondered when I'd be seeing you Mr. Potter." He said as he walked to him. "You have your mothers eyes. It seems only yesterday she was in here her self buying her first wand. 10 1/4 inches long. Swishy. Willow. Nice wand for Charms. Your father on the other hand favored a mongoidy wand. 11 inches. Clyible. A little more power and perfect for Transfiguation. Well I say he favored it. It's really the wand that chooses the wizard of course."
He then went and grab a box for him to try.
"Every wand I made has a magical core of a magical substince Mr. Potter. No two of my wands are the same. And you will never get good results with another wizards wand. Now let's try this. Beachwood, Dragon Heartstring. 9 inches. Nice and flexible."
He opened the box and gave it to him.
"Give it a wave and see if it likes you."
The moment he did, a force flew out and knocked over the boxes on the shelves.
"Aparently not." Mr. Olivander said as he gave Harry another wand. "Perhaps this. Nipple. Phoenix feather. 11 inches. Quite whippy."
He waved it and another force came smashed a glass ball with a candle in it.
"No. No. Deffintly not."
He then gave Harry one more wand.
"Holly. Phoenix feather. 11 1/2 inches. Nice and suckle."
This time when Harry waved it, a golden light surrounded his body.
"Cuorius. Very cuorius." Mr. Olivander said.
"Sorry. What's Cuorius?" Jerry asked.
"More cuorius than a talking mouse."
"What about a talking pussy cat?" Tom asked.
"That's still more. I remember every wand I've sold. The Phoenix whos father lies in your wand Mr. Potter, gave another feather. Just one other. You should be destent for this wand for when it's brother gave you that scar."
"Who owned that wand?" Harry asked.
"We do not speak his name."
"Why?" Harry asked again. "Who was he?"
"Hmm. I think you need some explaning. Not all wizards are good Mr. Potter. Some go bad. The one in peticuler. He Who Must Not Be Named gave you that scar."
"What was his name?" Harry asked once more.
"Voldemort."
"Voldemort?" Jerry asked.
"Doesn't that name stand for Fright Of Death in French?" Tom asked. "Is that why everyone fears it?"
"Fear of the name only increasese fear of the thing itself." Said Harry.
"Yes. It was dark times indeed Mr. Potter. Voldemort was gathering some followers to the dark side. Your parents dinied him and fought against him. But nobody lived when he found where your parents were hiding and killed them. Nobody. Not one. Except you."
"Me? Voldemort tried to kill me?" Harry asked.
"What happened to him?" Jerry asked.
"Some say he died. While others believes he's still out there. Too weak to carry on. That is why you are famous and why we all know you Mr. Potter. You are The Boy Who Lived."
Harry nodded as he paied for the wand and left to join up with Hagrid.
