*This is the first Steve POV and for him I am going to have a third party narrator instead of talking for him, I tried to do it but it was a bit more difficult.

Steve's Crazy Night

(Steve POV)

As Steve is riding to the Avengers compound his mind is still reeling from all that happened last night and this morning, he was just simply going on his nightly run! He usually goes around 10:30 but Sam had called him about training the new recruits in the morning, after hours of having to get prepared for that he lost track of time and knew he needed to go on it because if he didn't it would throw his whole next day off for training, he also didn't sleep very well and running every night helped for some reason, at least enough to function for the next day. Also something was just telling him that he couldn't miss it even though he couldn't explain why.

He had barely left his apartment and started running for about 15 minutes when he heard muffled noises coming from an ally way, he saw a man on the ground on top of a woman, it was difficult to see since it was so dark and it was hard to tell if the woman was in trouble or if they were doing something naughty until he got a little closer and saw a second man above her and that's when he could hear crying and her kicking her feet slightly. That's when he knew this woman was in danger. He wasted no time and attacked them, these guys didn't deserve a chance to reason with. These jokers actually thought they could intimidate him with a knife, he took them down in 3 seconds without Steve breaking a sweat.

When he hunched down to the woman he first saw she was all bloody, her face bloody from her cheek and her chest. He wanted to make sure she stayed calm because even though she was acting like she was fine and wasn't freaking out he could tell she was inside and he had no idea what other injuries she could have. When he helped stand her up on her feet he instantly noticed how beautiful she was...despite the blood and scratches on her face...quite frankly he had never seen such a beautiful woman, it made his heart stop for a moment. That was until she tried to push him away so he just gently held her and sure enough just seconds later she collapsed in his arms.

He didn't know what to do, the hospital was not close. Damn, he had to stop forgetting his cellphone when he went on his runs but he was still getting use to the damn thing. He didn't know what to do, this woman was bloody in his arms without a hospital near by, he didn't want to leave the attackers but she needed help. He secured her more in his arms and took her to his apartment which wasn't very far away. He wanted to get back to the attackers as quickly as possible so he gently put her on his couch and bandaged her chest to stop the bleeding but when he got there the attackers were already gone. He cursed to himself, this made him very worried that they would come after her again but he wasn't going to tell her that, he didn't want her to worry or be scared, so he was going to ease her mind as best as he could. He thought about just taking her right to the hospital but he was worried that she would wake up and be terrified that she was in a strangers car, at least his apartment wasn't a moving vehicle and also this way she could decide what she wanted to do. She woke up about 10 minutes after he returned, he was getting the wet rags and tea ready when he heard her winching in pain.

He quickly saw that this woman had a big bite to her, a very tough exterior, she even accused him of trying to sleep with her, he was very taken back by that. But he also couldn't blame her, she had been attacked and she was scared and confused. He was not going to leave her until he knew she was safe at home, even if that meant staying up all night. After he dropped her off at her apartment he couldn't sleep. He was still worried, thinking maybe she fell asleep or was just scared all night...what if those guys did come back to finish the job they started? But she told him to leave and he was going to respect her wishes...for tonight.

Morning came and he couldn't go to the compound without making sure she was okay first. He couldn't believe how cold she was being, she definitely is a tough and hardened person...he kind of likes that! But as much as he likes it he doesn't know what he did to make her act like this though, he wasn't the one that hurt her and he thought he had been a gentlemen all night and at the time thought she was just taking it out on him from what happened earlier but now as a new day begins she's still cold...even colder then last night and when she shuts the door in his face he thought that was it, he would probably never see her again but then she re-opened the door. The second she brought up that she hated and didn't trust men he looked in her eyes and saw sadness and a lot of pain and she reminded him of when he found out about Shield and all the secrets and lies. Ever since he's woken up from the ice he knows how difficult it is to trust people...to who to trust and even though they're completely different situations and he has no idea what she's been through he felt like he could really relate to that in someway. He found her so fascinating, she was drawing him in and wanted to know more about this girl and last...there was something about her that said she needed a friend and felt like he could be that for her.

Ever since he's been in this new world he doesn't have very many friends besides the Avengers but its hard to be friends when you are trying to be the leader, having to be strong, not show vulnerability and always had to present himself as Captain America. Ever since Sokovia he had devoted his entire life to be an Avenger, train and mentor other Avengers. He realized in that moment he needed a friend outside of work too...and maybe she could be that friend.

When they got coffee it was very hard not to pay for it, he always paid for the ladies coffees, even if they were just friends. It was just something his mother taught him, to teach him to be a gentlemen. He bought Natasha's and Wanda's all the time, they didn't mind and even though it wasn't a date he had a great time and wanted to see her again.

"Wow, you look like shit." Natasha said while he walked into the training room exhausted from no sleep.

"Thanks Nat, that's very nice of you." He replied sarcastically. "It's been a long night okay."

"What happened?" She asked.

"Let's just say it was a long long night." He only responded, he was not going to tell Iris' business, that wouldn't be a friend thing to do. Natasha could tell something was up but she knew he wasn't going to talk about it so she decided to drop it. "Are you ready?"

"Yep, lets hope the new recruits are ready," Steve answered while Natasha gave him a big grin. "This is going to be fun." That made him smirk a little.

There were brand new recruits to eventually help them if they needed any other back ups or small missions that Steve or Natasha couldn't be there for. He had all 8 lined up, 6 men and 2 women. Four of the recruits were former cops, had some training but nothing to this extent and the rest were former Shield agents that hadn't been there long before Shield fell.

"Listen up recruits, I'm not going to lie to you, I am going to push you harder then you have ever been before, it's not going to be easy, your going to be bruised, sore, want to quit and give up but trust me in the end it will be worth it when you have to save the world...or save a complete stranger...If any of you can't handle that then I suggest you leave right now." He waits for anyone to say or do something, no one moves a muscle. "Okay, are you ready?" With that last question he asks with authority.

They all shout at the same time, "yes sir." And all look at him in amazement saluting him.

Steve trained them like they were on a base, they did drills over and over again. He was tough and stern but he also showed compassion. He also knew all of these recruits were not going to give up easy, they had to impress Captain America after all.

Now we got to see Steve point of view of the night and what was going on in his head. Is he already starting to fall for her? Maybe or maybe not!
