A flashback to an earlier date in the lifespan of the Mega Pizzaplex, deep in the lower confides beneath the main facility itself and around the Parts & Service station. It is after hours as most of the lights strung about the halls were shut off for the night. However, there is a brilliant shine coming from one of the rooms as, still working in the evening, Vanny can be seen observing Afton working on an endoskeleton they secretly obtained. Though their "faces" did not show it, Afton was ecstatic as could be while Vanny looked on with similar vigor. But as Afton worked, the faint sounds of children groaning and crying could be heard echoing around him, ultimately ignored by the villainous man…
FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: SECURITY BREACH
SUPERSTAR EDITION
Hour 3.3: I Won't Let You Suffer! Gregory's Secret Gift
~ 2:14 am | Atrium - Main Floor ~
The atrium floor once again erupted into a battlefield of animatronics as the large Bonnie was fighting against the awakened evil, Moon. The smaller robot hopped around the large rabbit's attacks, maliciously giggling each time he missed. Each time he missed, Bonnie's temper only seemed to grow. Gregory and Vanessa watched from the sidelines, guarded by Freddy and a makeshift barrier of a turned over party table. Sun's unconscious body laid nearby with Helpy attending to him.
"Freddy….do you think he can win?" the boy asked. Freddy kept his eyes on the fight, observing Bonnie's small facial changes.
"I do not know. This is….not the same Bonnie I know. But even so, I still believe he can." he said. Gregory lightly nodded, turning back to the fight.
"I sure hope so." he said. With another of Bonnie's attacks missing, Moon laughed and lunged for the animatronic from behind. He latched onto his outer casing before driving his slender fingers inbetween the gaps. Though Bonnie had noticed, something built within Moon's hand emitted a paralyzing shock to his inner skeleton. Bonnie howled in agony as Moon leapt off and his body overcoursing with static, causing the animatronic to forcibly drop to his knees briefly.
"Great. Afton must've given this little creeper his own built in taser." Vanessa groaned "Why am I NOT surprised?" Gregory looked on at Bonnie's agonized face while Moon continued to attack, dive punching and kicking at the downed animatronic. In his mind, the boy was interpreting Bonnie's suffering to another similar type of bullying he had previously in life as an orphaned child.
"STUPID RABBIT!" he cackled before slugging Bonnie across the face with a right hook. The punch was strong enough to throw him off balance and the large rabbit crashed down on his side. Everyone watched in shock as Moon kept laughing. Bonnie's body was still crippled from paralysis as he showed no signs of getting back up.
"W-What the…? Freddy! Why isn't he fighting back?!" Vanessa asked, pointing his way. Freddy's eyes narrowed.
"The electric shock must have damaged his endoskeleton…damaged enough that he cannot stand back up." the animatronic explained. Vanessa gasped, shocked that a single hit could cripple Bonnie. Meanwhile, Gregory remained silent as a mouse, still visioning the events playing out similar to a moment in his past. In his mind, Bonnie was a younger version of Gregory being pinned down in a sandbox from a nearby playground as a larger kid was kicking him multiple times without mercy, Gregory reduced to merely cowering. Unfortunately for him, there was no one nearby to come to his aide.
"No! Stop! Leave me alone!"
"Heh heh heh! What's wrong, "Gwegowy"? Too scared to actually FIGHT BACK?!"
"I-I said stop it! STOP!"
"Ha! Admit it! You're not the toughest kid around! What kind of "tough guy" would be crying on the ground like a baby?!"
Anger began festering inside his heart, making a fist with one hand while gritting his teeth. The bully's words continued echoing in his head, his mind eventually projecting those same words coming from Moon's mouth. His rage grew to the point that he could be heard faintly growling, catching the attention of Vanessa. She turned his way and saw the look in his eyes.
"Gregory…?" she muttered. Without a word, Gregory suddenly reached for Vanessa's belt and quickly unclipped her tazer off it. She wasn't fast enough to stop it as he vacated their barrier and ran straight for the wounded Bonnie, Freddy left shocked as well.
"H-Hey! Where do you think you're going with that?!" she shouted.
"Gregory! Come back!" Freddy cried. But he did not stop until he was close to Bonnie. Quick as a flash, he whipped out his mostly emptied water bottle and unscrewed the top before flinging it with all his might at Moon, standing atop Bonnie. The impact caused him to momentarily flinch as, at the same time, the small bit of remaining water splashed out atop him. The water on his circuits ignited a brief sparking, Moon yowling as he felt his own body freeze up.
"Hey! Over here, dumbass!" Gregory yelled, quickly gaining Moon's attention. Freddy and Vanessa simultaneously gasped as Moon quickly jumped down and faced Gregory while emitting a beastly snarl, once again twittling his slender fingers.
"NAUGHTY CHILDREN…." it begun to say. But before it could finish, Gregory quickly pressed the trigger on the tazer. Moon gawked momentarily, giving him enough time to thrust it straight at the base of the animatronic's neck. Added on top of the water dumped on him earlier, the shock was amplified greatly while Gregory kept the tazer firmly planted on him. Moon screeched in agony while his voice box began to fritz out and his arms began freaking out. The others watched in dead silence until Gregory's attack eventually downed the vicious animatronic. Once he knew it was over, he quickly drew back the tazer as if he just drove a knife into its neck. Moon was now left as a crippled mess on the ground, his entire body paralyzed and joints short circuiting. As this happened, the shock that overtook Bonnie seemed to wear off as he slowly rose back up. The rabbit looked back at Gregory's deed with a look of total surprise, same as Vanessa, Helpy and Freddy.
"N-N-NAUGHTY CHILD….M-M-MUST B-B-B-B-BE…P-P-P-PUNISSSS…" Moon glitched, voice eventually failing and red eyes fading out. Gregory did not budge an inch shortly after, panting heavily before dropping his weapon. But reality soon hit him as he stared down at the damaged animatronic, the tazer at his feet and then at his shaking hands.
~ 2:19 am | Pizzaplex Lower Floors - Main Stage Elevator ~
Gregory remained completely quiet as, alongside Vanessa and Freddy, helped move Bonnie's injured body onto the stage elevator. Sun's body was seen still carried over Freddy's shoulder and Helpy stood by Gregory. Vanessa then initiated their descent while standing alongside him. But Freddy could not help but observe Gregory's look of sheer terror. Vanessa then took notice, seeing his eyes lightly shaking.
"Hey…." Vanessa said softly, partially startling him "It….It's okay. I know that entire scenario might've seemed, well, extreme….but you helped someone when they really needed it. It's thanks to you that we can help Bonnie now." Gregory slowly looked away.
"I-I mean…its not like you actually killed an actual person. Moon…wasn't even an animatronic that dwelled here in the….Pizzaplex." she continued, soon realizing it wasn't working.
"But…w-what if I….I attacked Freddy? Or the others? I-If I snapped like that…at Freddy, I…I wouldn't be able to forgive myself." he stuttered "I'm trying to help the robots here…and I might as well have KILLED that one." Freddy could not bring himself to say anything, albeit he was touched by Gregory worrying about their bond. Vanessa then turned away, one hand resting against Bonnie's exterior. It was then that Gregory noticed Bonnie attempting to move his arm, gently casting his hand towards him. The young boy could see the look of relief in his eyes.
...Thank you….Gregory….
Gregory lightly gasped, surprised that the animatronic was thanking him. Helpy looked up at Gregory.
"You….did good….superstar." the small bear muttered. Though he was still silent, Vanessa could see his anguish partially lifting from Gregory's heart as he seemed more at ease while glimpsing between each of them. Freddy was able to see this as well, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Gregory…please never forget that I am….proud of you for standing up for Bonnie…the way you did." he said, bringing a small smile back to his face.
~ 2:21 am | Parts & Service ~
Once they reached the lower floors, the group worked together to help walk Bonnie and Sun into the center repair station. Sun was the first one prompted up onto the repair table, Vanessa at his side, while Gregory waited nearby with Bonnie and Freddy. Even though he was on the sidelines, observing from the outside of the repair station meant only for technician usage, he could not keep his eyes off the security guard working to fix Sun's damage. A look of determination was in her eyes as she did a quick overlook.
"You weren't kidding. Vanessa really does care for the robots." he said, turning to Freddy.
"Indeed. In fact, she will drop whatever she is doing if it means coming to our aide…even if it is merely for one of the staff robots. She once rushed to Roxanne's side when she found out her teeth were coming loose, saving "her image" before any of the guests called her out for it." Freddy explained "According to Roxanne, she was a "life saver". Saved her from having to get braces." Gregory lightly chuckled, as did Helpy.
"Why would an animatronic think that they were going to get BRACES put on?" Gregory asked, still chuckling. Freddy merely shrugged, unsure of the reasoning himself. Just then, he noticed Gregory looking back to Bonnie, puzzling Freddy.
"Hey….can I tell you something, Freddy?" he asked. The animatronic nodded.
"What is it, Gregory?" Freddy replied.
"Well, on the way to the main stage…and down on the elevator….I kept having these weird "visions"….or are they thoughts…that were trying to tell me something was really hurting Bonnie." he explained "And…it wasn't anything to do with his parts or endoskeleton. It was…more so he was in pain…from the casing on him." Freddy quickly turned back to Bonnie in surprise, shocked by Gregory's words. At the moment, the animatronic rabbit had shut down to conserve power and its consciousness.
"Bonnie's casings…are causing him pain?" he thought. A brief silence overtook them before Freddy faced Gregory again.
"What do you mean by that? Can you…elaborate?" he asked. The boy seemed heavily unsure himself, slightly fidgeting as he tried to think of a reason.
"The best way…I could describe it…is like I could hear the metal shells were emitting a weird sound. And…it sounded like…the voice of multiple kids in pain. I could hear their voices overlapping with each other." he said. Despite his best attempt, Freddy was still unable to process what he was saying, all the while Vanessa was still working hard at restoring Sun.
"Perhaps…it is an effect of the stress you have been under since the night started. Maybe you need to rest more." he replied, narrowing it down to that. But before the boy could reply, Vanessa turned to him from inside the repair chamber.
"Hey! Freddy? Can you let Gregory inside? I need some help that requires more "human assistance" rather than your beefy mechanical hands….uhh, no offense." she called. From outside, Freddy merely nodded before he and Gregory eyed one another.
"Looks like I'm getting a lesson in robotics…from a "wanna-be" security guard." Gregory chuckled before heading inside. The door opened automatically as Gregory then hurried to her side. Vanessa looked down at him with a smile on her face.
"Thanks for coming to help…"technician trainee"." she teased "Ready to resume "helping" the animatronics?" Gregory retorted with a cocky smirk, crossing his arms.
"Tell the truth. You aren't REALLY a security guard, are you?" he asked coyly. Vanessa coyly laughed herself, shaking her head.
"Sometimes I ask MYSELF that very same question." she teased. The two then returned to working on Sun while Freddy stood watch outside, overlooking Bonnie with Helpy resting on his shoulder.
