FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: SECURITY BREACH
~ SUPERSTAR EDITION ~

~ Chapter: Gregory ~

Knowing what was waiting ahead of him, Gregory made for the gift shop close to the main lobby to suit up for the final confrontation with Afton and Glitchtrap. A new sense of determination and courage coursed through him. The first thing he did was discard his older clothes, his shirt and shorts been worn down and stained from the chaos so far, into a small dumpster in back. He then looked through the selection of clothes in his size and decided on a "Freddy and Friends" dark blue hoodie and a pair kid-sized pants sporting white striping down the legs leading to a silhouette of Roxy's head. He also stocked up on other items such as a bag of marbles, a pack of batteries for his flashlight, a new bottle of water and a baseball bat similar to the one he found near Bonnie Bowl. He also traded in his old shoes for a newer pair and firmly tied the laces before looking over himself in the mirror. One thing that surprised him was the bandage on his face, given to him by Vanessa in Lost and Found, had eventually worn off and fell off.

"Must've fell off when I was in the sewers." he muttered while rubbing his cheek. Finishing his check over, Gregory firmly nodded and picked up his backpack and slipped his arms through the loops. Since his pack had been through as much as him, the boy made it a point to fix it up with duck tape he found when behind the front counter. As he adjusted the feeling of his backpack, he noticed a shadow being casted from one of the windows behind him. He turned back and saw Freddy standing by the doorway.

"F-Freddy!" Gregory gasped, realizing he forgotten about them earlier. The animatronic walked through the doors in a clumsy manner before Gregory hurried to his side. The boy gasped at the sight of his robotic friend, seemingly damaged pretty badly from the encounter with Fake Roxanne. More cracks were seen coating his previously shiny body and his colors had a darker shade to them.

"G-Gregory...I'm glad you are...all right." he said, sounding wounded and voice jittery. Eventually, he regained his stance before looking down at Gregory.

"Freddy...what happened to you?!" he asked. Freddy glimpsed over his body before shaking his head.

"It is...nothing to worry about. After you left, we...found a message left behind by Roxanne's imposter. She wanted...you to face her at Roxy Raceway...for the missing parts you've been searching for." the bear explained "Since you...weren't with us, we...took her on...ourselves. But...we won." Gregory was speechless, unable to fathom the amount of damage he had seemingly taken. It was shortly after that Freddy saw the wardrobe change he took.

"When...did you change your clothing?" Freddy asked.

"Oh...after I had a run-in with Afton. We got into a pretty heated argument a little while ago...right here, when the night started." the boy explained. The animatronic gasped heavily.

"Y-You ran into Afton?! Are you hurt?! Did...Did he threaten you at all?! Tell me you are not hurt!" the bear asked in a panic. Gregory shook his head.

"No. I'm fine. But...I managed to get that whacko to tell me what all this was about. Apparently, everything he put me through...was just him trying to "test" me like a lab rat. His goal is to somehow pass on his soul...into my body before leaving the Pizzaplex." the boy explained. Freddy lightly gasped.

"Is...that possible?" he muttered.

"From what he told me, yes it is. Remember that shiny goop we smashed downstairs? That was something he called "remnant"...something he seemed to value greatly." Gregory continued "But...don't worry. I told him I wasn't going to run anymore. We're not leaving the Pizzaplex until the sun comes up...and all of us leave alive, Vanessa included." Freddy lightly gasped again.

"You know where Officer Vanessa is? That is great, Superstar!" Freddy proclaimed. But Gregory looking away with a saddened expression quelled his excitement.

"U-Unfortunately, it looks like she's been...hypnotized into joining Afton's side. Thanks to that glitch, they were able to use her several times before...disguising her as Vanny." he said "It's...her following their orders...that I even came here." he said "But...enough of that. Did you manage to smash the parts you got back from Fake Roxy?" The bear seemed oblivious at first before prior events came back to him.

"Oh...yes. It took all of us working together...but it appears you were right. Destroying them somehow helped the children begin to regain consciousness. They're waiting for us in Children's Cove." he explained. Gregory nodded as the bear put a hand on his shoulder.

"In...In that case, I need you to relay a message to them. Afton wants me to face him...in half an hour at the Main Atrium. Before that happens, we HAVE to move them somewhere safer. That way, nothing will happen to them." he explained. Freddy momentarily was silent before he nodded.

"All right. Leave it to us. But...what about you? Surely you're not going to...face Afton all by yourself?" he asked "We've...come so far...as a team." Gregory chuckled briefly.

"Of course not. We're gonna free Vanessa and ruin his reign of torment...just as we always have, Freddy. I can't fight him without you." the boy said "Since you're here, I need to gain access to a computer or some kind of phone. Is the office we used earlier still open?" The bear glimpsed out the window, scratching his chin before briefly nodding, assuming nothing had changed since they were forced to move.

~ Lost and Found Office ~

Freddy's feeling ended up being true as they were able to re-enter the Lost and Found office and the computer Vanessa had signed into was still active and out of Glitchtrap's control. However, there were signs that either Vanny or Afton had previously passed through to use it in their absence.

"Okay. I'm going to try and contact the police. Can you see if you can reach out to the manager of the Pizzaplex? Whoever it is...probably should see what Afton's done." he said. The bear nodded before bringing a hand up to his ears, seeing if he could make his way through the main network. Gregory quickly plopped himself in Vanessa's chair and grabbed a nearby portable landline phone and dialed "9-1-1". After a ring or two, an officer picked up.

Hello? You've reached the Police Department. Can I please have your name?

Uhhh...m-my name is...Gregory. Last name...I don't know it.

Hmm? Okay then. Well, how can I help you...Gregory?

I-I need you to send any officers you have to the Freddy Fazbear Mega Pizzaplex before six am. I've been trapped here all night long...with a psycho who has been trying to turn the animatronics on me. T-There are other kids here too...the ones from the missing children cases.

What?! A-Are you sure, young man?

Y-Yeah. Luckily for me, the nightly security guard, Vanessa, and the head animatronic, Freddy, have been protecting me. We...haven't been able to contact anyone outside until now.

Why is that? Any idea?

Probably due to a computer virus he uploaded to the server system. We can't get the front doors open though. But...please. Contact an ambulance or the fire department if you have to. The doors will unlock at six am. If...If not for me, at least...for the other kids he's held hostage here.

Sit tight, Gregory. We'll do what we can to get officers to you as soon as possible. But make sure YOU are somewhere safe.

O-Okay. I will...

He then hung up the phone as Freddy turned to Gregory, telling him that he sent a encoded message to the manager's cell phone, urging him to come.

"Okay. Looks like our "escape route" is all set up. But...we've got to get Vanessa back before then." he explained. Freddy nodded.

"Yes. We MUST. B-But...I'm afraid I will have to hurry back to my friends. We still need to move the children. For their safety, we'll get them all to the Daycare Center. Sun will be able to help protect them. Will...you be coming with me?" the bear asked, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I-In a bit, Freddy. I need some...alone time. I'm not fully prepared...and I think some time alone will do me good. Don't worry. Once the kids are moved, we'll meet up at the Daycare." Gregory said. Though hesitant at first, Freddy lightly nodded and headed out back towards the atrium. With the computer unlocked in front of him, Gregory realized that he had access to not only the servers of the entire Pizzaplex, but important information regarded for only Vanessa.

"Maybe...I can find some kind of clues here...as to HOW I can free Vanessa from "Vanny"." he muttered, beginning to search. It took him no time to find documented proof of Vanessa's paperwork as an employee of the Pizzaplex, complete with a profile picture from her first day. To his surprise, it appeared Vanessa did not have her hair in her usual ponytail fashion upon starting.

"Huh...never thought I'd see Vanessa with a different hairstyle." the boy said. He then found an attached file, opening it to find they were recordings from therapists Vanessa had spoken to as part of her job. Looking it over allowed him to read important details such as "abusive father", "childhood trauma", "unfit for position" and, most importantly, "requested by executive of Fazbear Entertainment".

"Wait...so, Vanessa was given this job by somebody higher up?" he thought, pondering for a moment "Bet anything it was someone Afton used...or Glitchtrap probably made that up to increase her chances. But...what's this about an abusive childhood?" Just then, he noticed something near the keyboard. He found it was Vanessa's cell phone, the device unlocked just like the computer. The first thing he saw was the picture she had taken of himself and Charlie when they were at El Chip's. The boy blushed a bit as he looked on at his smiling face.

"S-Seriously?! Ugh. Least she could've done was ASKED." he complained. Looking through the main screen, he saw there was a green circle above her "Voicemail" icon. He opened it up before deciding to listen, believing it might help him reach the true Vanessa. Playing the message, he then brought it up to his ear. The voice was of another woman, most likely one of her therapists.

Vanessa? It's me...Sylvia. I...need to talk to you about something I found while I was looking into your history. You may not know this, but the manager of the Pizzaplex allowed me to do research into your past. And...there's something that stuck out to me above everything else. According to previous sessions with your last therapist, you spoke about having childhood trauma from a custody case involving your parents...in which your father used you to frame your mother.

Well, according to what I dug up, including notes from your family members...it seems that was NOT the case. You had a wonderful childhood, loving parents...even excelled at your grades and school life. They only said you begun acting strangely...after you became a beta tester for the "Help Wanted" virtual reality experience. Vanessa...why did you lie to me? Can you explain yourself? Call me back.

Hearing those words, Gregory gasped as his eyes widened.

"It's true. Glitchtrap...HAS been manipulating her. I bet he's been trying to have her believe this hoax so he could keep tabs on her." he thought "In that case, maybe reminding her...could be the ticket to freeing her from her Vanny side." As he returned to the main screen, he found the folder of photos taken with her phone, scrolling through to see many of the other pictures she had taken during their excursion together. In most of them, she had the same bright, warming smile on her face.

"Maybe...reminding her of us...can help too." he muttered.
