Peter twisted out of the way of Venom's fist and smashed a fist across the symbiote's face, knocking a few fanged teeth to the floor. Peter flinched and hoped that wouldn't carry over to Miles, Peter had forgotten Viri's passive boost to his abilities and would never forgive himself if he permanently damaged Miles because he went too far. Even as he prayed, he knew he couldn't afford to hold back since he was fighting Venom all out and definitely willing to kill him to keep him from separating Miles from him (the only thing he didn't want to use his symbiote suit because was sure that if he evened the playing field entirely using it, he was still technically stronger than Miles because he his older body was far more developed and he had his powers for far longer). Peter's flinch was a bad mistake as Venom only stumbled before flinging his hand into a vicious back-fist that crashed into Peter's ribs. The arachnid-themed hero let out a sharp cry of pain as he was sent sailing over the edge of the building and fell to the streets below. Peter fired a web-line that snagged at the edge of the roof and swung to land on the side of the building. His ribs throbbed painfully and Viri was already beginning to soothe away the pain as Peter saw Venom come to the edge of the roof and glare down at them, mouth already sprouting new teeth. His body bulged and Peter inwardly grumbled at the muscles bulging and bulkier form and the white vanishing from his look as the spider symbol, eyes, mouth and white patches on the back of his hands became the only things not black.
"That hurt, Parker." Venom snarled, his hand cocked back and launching forwards, stretching towards Peter, "We're going to enjoy ripping you and Viribus apart!"
Peter crossed his arms in front of him just in time to block the blow, but the force ripped him from the building's side and once again he fell towards the streets below. Venom leapt after him and Peter twisted as his waldoes erupted from his back and swung into Venom, two of them anchoring Peter into the wall while the other two slammed Venom into the side of the building. Peter launched himself off the wall and into the air and fired two web-lines to slingshot himself back at his somewhat stunned symbiote-clad friend. Peter slammed feet first into the symbiote's chest and Venom smashed straight through the wall, rolling into the room and scattering the people with cries of fear as Venom straightened with a roar and ran at the hole. Peter crawled through the hole only for Venom to tackle him around the waist and out the hole Peter just made. They both fell to the earth while still locked in mid-air combat slamming punches and kicks into each other while Peter's waldoes also weaved around him to attack. Venom saw the approaching street while Spider-Man's spider-sense warned him of the oncoming splat. Spider-Man used fired a web-line and pulled away as Venom landed on his hands and feet hard enough to crumble the street. Cars swerved and people screamed as Venom glared maliciously at all of them, no doubt his monstrous appearance scaring the people around him. Spider-Man scowled as Venom slowly straightened and he only seemed to be angrier than hurt no doubt healing fast thanks to his symbiotic abilities.
Spider-Man grumbled internally, 'Why is it always things that I love the most about something that tends to cause me the most irritation later on?"
'Parker luck, Peter.' Viri replied as he sighed, 'Parker luck.'
'Thank you for reminding me.' Peter snarked sarcastically.
Venom didn't seem intent on waiting for Peter and Viri to finish bantering as he reared back before lashing out with a mass of writhing tentacles towards Spider-Man. Spider-Man twisted and flipped out of the way of the tentacles, occasionally batting away the ones that got too close. His waldoes were put through their paces as they clashed and swiped with the tentacles that Peter couldn't cover alone; Viri had already given him the tools to enhance his mental commands to his waldoes, which he was glad he incorporated before this bout with his symbiote-clad protege. Venom's tentacles morphed into a massive fist that came down to squash a Spider-Man into a paste forcing the hero to flip out of the way. Peter didn't wait to land before he shot two web-lines and snagged Venom's legs before yanking the anti-hero's legs out from under him and pulling him into the air. Venom didn't let the sudden loss of his footing startle him too much and prepared to close in only to feel himself being pulled over and around the arachnid-themed hero's form before being slammed into the floor.
Venom growled in annoyance and felt Spider-Man falling from above and lashed out. A symbiotic fist stretched out and swatted the hero right out of the air and into the side of the street. Spider-Man had tried to block the blow but just couldn't put his guard up in time before being hit and knocked out of the air. He crashed into the floor and grunted as he landed harshly on the sidewalk, several people gasped in worry.
"You got this spidey!" One called out in encouragement, "Don't let that knock-off beat you!"
"Knock-off?" Venom snarled as he approached, "I'm no copy of this weakling! He lacks the determination and will power to do what must be done!"
"Murdering criminals is the right way to go about it!" Another person shouted, "You are maiming and brutalizing them to the point that they almost don't make it to the hospital! Did you forget what you did to Mysterio?"
Venom flinched minutely with wide eyes and took a step back before shuddering and stepping forwards again, back in control. Venom radiated anger when suddenly he doubled over, a flash of yellow causing his body to bulge unnaturally before exploding out and Kid Arachnid's head and upper body ripping free for just a moment, crying out for the symbiote to let him go and leave him alone. Venom quickly straightened as the symbiote wrapped around his host and yanked him right back into his body. People who had initially been angry immediately gasped as they heard the young hero screaming in fear and anger before it was quickly muffled. Peter's eyes widened when he realized Miles hasn't lost himself to Venom entirely and was still fighting back to free himself.
And Peter's anger at the symbiote skyrocketed as he crouched and sprang at Venom, plowing a fist into Venom's face. Venom stumbled and Peter flipped over onto Venom's back and grabbed two fistfuls of the symbiote covering Miles' face and yanked with on it, causing the symbiotic mask to strain until it tore, revealing Kid Arachnid's mask under it, eyes narrowed in strain.
"Kid!" Peter shouted, struggling to keep the mask from getting free from his grip, "You can fight it! Don't let it take you over, I know you won't let this ink stain control you!"
Viri sent a tendril to attach to Miles' head, "You are not this thing's puppet! Fight him! Fight!"
"I... am... trying!" Miles grunted, jerking his head in an attempt to pry an arm loose, "I can't... break... free!"
This was all Miles could say before a symbiotic tendril wrapped around Peter's face and tore him — and Viri for that matter — off Venom's back and slammed him head first into the floor twice before tossing him away from the struggling teen. Peter rolled to a stop and pushed himself to his hands and knees, Viri already beginning to work on the bruises and disorientation that was making Peter's head swim. Miles cried out before the symbiotic mask wrapped around his face and morphed mack into Venom's face. Peter growled in anger and felt Viri squirm, ready to shroud him in his symbiotic coat in a moment if needed. Peter could probably rip Miles out of the symbiote, but he needed the symbiote to ease off Miles first.
'Peter, this can't go on. We can take him together, and figure out what comes after he's down.' Viri offered.
'No.' Peter said, straightening up and taking a sharp breath, 'We should use the sonic weapon first. Miles is able to use his bio-electricity to force Venom off of him for a few seconds. Maybe if we can both work together, we can force Venom off of him. Then we need to find a place to throw the symbiote where it can't hurt anyone else.'
'As long as it has a chance to find a host, it will continue to find new victims.' Viri whispered softly, knowing it would never end, 'We can't afford to let this continue, especially since it will come after you, after me, after us.'
'But killing it...' Peter thought softly, knowing that if you were alone, finding someone like yourself was nigh impossible.
'I don't want to kill one of my kind Peter...' Viri replied, heartsick at the thought of having to kill Venom and wishing desperately otherwise, 'But this cannot continue. Whatever damage has been done to its psyche is just too traumatic. It's also to late to make it see reason now, you rejected it when it tried to tear me away from you and now you are trying to rip Miles away. It will hate you now no matter what.'
'There has to be a way!' Peter protested, knowing that he wouldn't be able to bring himself to kill it, 'I hate what it is doing to Miles, but it doesn't deserve to die!'
Venom ripped a chunk of concrete out of the street and hurled at Spider-Man, who webbed it up and spun to launch it back at its sender. Venom barked out an amused laugh before he punched the projectile into a cloud of torn webbing, bits of concrete, and grey dust. Spider-Man launched himself at Venom and smashed a kick into Venom's chest, sending the symbiote stumbling back; his waldoes expanding from his back to hold Venom in place.
Venom was having none of it and webbed up all of the waldoes and swung Peter around like a wrecking ball before throwing him into the side of a building. Peter cried out as he crashed into the wall and barely managed to adhere himself to the side before Venom was on top of him, slamming blows into Peter. Even with his armor and symbiote, each blow was enough to stun Peter anew and send a tremor through his bones. Peter gritted his teeth and caught Venom's fist heading towards his face and slammed an open palm into Venom's lower jaw, shoving his teeth into his upper lip and nailing his tongue there as well. While Venom's head snapped back and he was reeling for a brief second, Peter's waldoes sheared themselves free of Venom's webbing before all of them consecutively stabbing into Venom and flexing out, knocking him off the spider-themed hero. Peter took a moment to hang from the side of the building and catch his breath as Viri immediately started patching him back up and probing him for what else he could fix.
It wasn't exactly a surprise that Venom's blows were this strong, Peter wasn't using Viri's full potential in order to limit the damage he might inflict on Miles, and his passive boost was barely enough to contend with Venom full take over of Miles' body. Peter's durability was up, so was his strength, agility, and a whole bunch of attributes that could probably be summed up in a RPG character's status screen, but Venom was that and more. Miles may not have been as strong as he was but a fifteen times multiple let him keep up with and overtake his five times passive boost no issue. The only thing that was really keeping him in the game was Viri patching him up every time he took a lot of damage, his armored suit, and his waldoes acting as an extra offense and a defense and that he wasn't holding back at all. But Venom was able to take all he could dish out and fix Miles up to keep him going. That wasn't good though, Peter knew Miles's body was probably at its limit. Venom had been barely letting Miles rest at all and his recent joyride in Miles' body probably hadn't made thing better.
"Okay, so weakening him and distracting him isn't an option." Peter grumbled, and he blinked as Venom grabbed one of the cars that had stopped when he and Venom crashed into the street. The family inside of the car had been too scared to leave the vehicle and were now scrambling to leave when Venom paused at their fear. They symbiote gripped it's head and writhed away while the people in the car seized the opportunity to get out and sprint away. Regaining controle, Venom picked up the now empty car with relative ease and prepared to fling it at the hero, grinning maliciously at the hero's eyes widening in panic.
Lighting suddenly crackled as Venom bulged and started tearing apart at the seams with a howl of pain, dropping the car and falling to its hands and knees as yellow arcs of electricity danced across Venom's body. The symbiote covering began to writhe and arc out like tendrils of a octopus or squid that was in pain. The receding tendrils pulled away to reveal more of Kid Arachnid's suit and body, lighting shining brighter from the exposed areas.
"NO!" Miles roared at the symbiote, his voiced strained as he kept sustaining his bio-electric pulse, "You don't get to use me like this! I am not letting you hurt my friend anymore!"
Peter immediately pulled out the sonic weapon and aimed it at Venom, "Keep it up, Kid!"
He fired a wave of sound at Venom who let out a even more painful scream and flung itself off Miles to writhe on the street, away from at least one source of pain. Miles let out a gasp and collapsed, completely drained as he finally was free.
'Crank it higher!' Viri demanded, 'Knock it out!"
'But—' Peter was about to protest as his suit only prevented the mild amount of sonics that were present in the city, a full powered screech was too much.
'Do it!' Viri shouted.
Peter turned the dial up and fired, the sonics overwhelming even his suit and causing several people to cry out and cover their ears in pain. Peter himself wanted to cover his ears as the sound blasted from so close, but that was nothing compared to the agony that was flowing off of Viri. The suit mitigated some of the sound so it wasn't fatal, but it was nothing short of torture to the symbiote that was attached to Spider-Man. Miles cringed on the ground and cupped his ears and tried to block out the noise.
"Argh! Stop it!" Miles cried weakly.
Peter's focus shifted to his fallen friend and deactivated his weapon long enough for the symbiote to regain some bearings and make a plan. The symbiote picked up a stone from the earlier broken slab of concrete it shattered and threw it at the weapon, knocking it out of Peter's hands. It clattered to the floor and Peter saw it head for a storm drain before he turned to see Miles groaning in exhaustion. Peter felt torn for all of about a second before reaffirming his desires and ignoring the sonic weapon before sprinting over to his collapsed protege, lifting his head and shoulders up.
"Kid? Kid?" Peter demanded, shaking him slightly, "Talk to me!"
"Heya coach." Miles mumbled weakly, "Is it gone?"
Peter turned and saw the storm drain ominously empty and sighed before turning back to Miles and helping him sit upright before whispering, "You're free Miles. It's gonna be okay."
He knew it wasn't done by a longshot, but for now Miles needed rest.
The reassurance that he wasn't responsible and he had nothing to be sorry for would come later.
Norman Osborn fists were clenched so tightly that it hurt.
That damn Kid Arachnid!
He had it!
The entire time he had the symbiote and paraded around in it like it was his right! Like he hadn't stolen what his son desperately needed to survive! Did he understand how Harry needed that to stay alive?
He watched as Spider-Man managed to separate them with Kid Arachnid's own abilities but instead of doing the right thing and capture the symbiote so it could be returned he went to check on his protege!
Norman tamped down on his ire, he had to admit that his only interaction with Kid Arachnid was when the 'hero' webbed him to the wall of his elevator and rushed up to aid his mentor against Spidercide. He hadn't exactly sat down with the boy and talked beyond demanding to be let back into his penthouse, otherwise the boy might have come to give him what was rightfully his sooner. He pinched the bridge of his nose and resisted the urge to send out mercenaries to hunt for the alien in the sewers, knowing that with his diminished standing and no insane situations he simply didn't have the capability to hire anyone unless the he wanted an possible scandal.
Still...
What Kid Arachnid had done with the symbiote was impressive, while no doubt having his own power to rely on, Kid Arachnid's feats of strength and speed — without even considering the ability of the symbiote to shift its limbs into different forms — had kept Spider-Man on the defensive until Kid Arachnid managed to free himself. The violence was simply a sign of a child fascinated with a new toy, a force with no focus and capability. While the boy seemed to be unable to control the symbiote, Norman Osborn had always known that the weak-willed would be overwhelmed by darker impulses.
An Osborn with it though?
No chance the symbiote would be able to control an Osborn.
Norman leaned back in his chair and considered the possibilities.
