I didn't intend to add any more to this fic, but then this sweet scene popped into my head. As of this writing, I have no plans for any further chapters, but ya never know. Meantime, let me know what you think. No poetry, just prose this time.

Tears in the Shower

You think I don't hear you, but I do.

Through the sound of the running shower and falling water, I hear your sobs echo off the tile. You do it alot lately, my dear Light.

What is it that makes you so horribly sad? Is it something eating away at you, like a secret? Is it your homosexuality? Does your father know?

I already know, Ryou, and it only makes me want you more.

Is it your ex-lover? You broke up months ago, but I can see why you'd still miss him. He's almost as beautiful as you are, after all.

I don't know why I'm writing this. It's not like you'll ever see it. Sometimes I wish you would-- yesterday I left this book on the kitchen counter. Did you read it? If you did, you hid it well. I guess suppressing your emotions is one of your special skills.

But I guess no one can hide all the time. I can't-- my emotions pour out in this ink. I guess yours pour out in your tears. Down the drain, wash away. But more will come to take their place.

How I wish, Dear Light, that I could ease your pain. When I hear you sobbing so woefully, I stop and listen to the raw emotion in your voice. I'm the only one who gets to hear your true voice, and I can't help but want more.

I wish I could follow you.

Maybe, I tell myself, maybe the next time I hear you crying, I'll check the door and maybe it'll be unlocked. I'll slip in soundlessly, ever the perfect thief. I'll watch your nude form through the distorted glass as I slowly peel off my clothes. Then I'll slide open the doors and step in behind you. You'll be standing with your head against the tile, shaking with sobs, dead to the world.

What will I do next?

"... Ryou..."

Your sobs will abruptly end with a gasp and you'll lift your head to meet my gaze, tears standing out in your eyes.

You'll be surprised to see me, but not angry or unsettled.

"BakuChan."

I'll approach slowly. You won't move. You'll be too busy staring into my eyes, wondering what on earth I'm doing. I'll reach out and cup your face in my palm. You'll lean into it like a cat, closing your eyes, making the tears tumble down.

I'll catch them with my tongue. You'll gasp as our bodies touch. I'll move my hand lower to circle your waist and draw you even closer. You'll shudder out an aroused sigh, putting your arms around my neck.

"BakuChan..."

"BakuChan!"

Bakura jolted, his pen skidding across the page. He jumped to his feet, ignoring the ache in his nether regions as he went down the hall.

Ryou had stuck his head out of the bathroom. Bakura longed to see more than his hikari's nude shoulder.

"Could you bring me a new bottle of shampoo from the hall closet?"

"Okay." He turned and started walking away.

"BakuChan, are you alright?"

He stopped abruptly, whirling to face him, his skin beet red with embarrassment, as if Ryou knew his thoughts.

"Of course I am, why do you ask?"

"Well, you're limping..."

He mumbled some lie about his foot being asleep and ran for it, forgetting his light's request.
