Chapter 11: Thai Go!

Marcy is relaxing eating her donut sitting in the backseat. Timon turn his around and see Marcy sitting when she took her last bite. This is his first time seeing Marcy happy since yesterday.

"So, how does it feel?" asked Timon

"Happy!" Marcy answered.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"We're gonna have so much fun together. You, me, and my bestest best friend." Pumbaa added.

"Now before we get started, there's gonna be some house rules when we get back." said Timon.

They pulled in by their house. They got out from their vehicle and open the door for Marcy when she climbed out from the backseat carrying her backpack and her stuffed caterpillar. She looked up at her new house amazed. Timon closed the door behind her.

"Welcome to our humble home!" said Timon.

"You live here?" asked Marcy.

"Yep, we just moved here from three days ago. If you live with us, you have to follow the rules." said Timon pullout his notebook and handed to Pumbaa.

"Timon's right, every morning we woke up early and have our own breakfast. By noon, we will be eating our lunch. By evening like around five or six, we will be having our dinner. And finally you get to have your snack before you get to bed by nine o'clock. You can still have your playtime until our meal is ready. By the time summer has ended, you'll be going to school and do all your homework." said Pumbaa when he explained to Marcy to follow the rules.

"Okay mister, I understand." said Marcy kindly.

"Please, call me 'Uncle' Pumbaa."

"Okay, Uncle Pumbaa."

"That's the spirit. I'll go get your suitcases." said Pumbaa handed the note book back to Timon.

He opens the trunk to get her suitcases out and closed it. They walk closer to the front door. Timon pulled out his keys to unlock the door and open it. They have entered their house and close the door behind them.

"Here we are kid, home sweet home." said Timon.

Marcy went to the living room to sit on the couch.

"This couch is comfy." said Marcy.

"It sure is. This is a living room where we get sit down watch TV or play video games." said Pumbaa.

"You played video games?!" asked Marcy smiling with eyes sparkles.

"Yep, we got so many games to play with." replied Timon.

Marcy got off the couch and followed him to the dining room.

"And this is a dining room where we can eat lunch and dinner. Speaking of which, we have plenty of food and water in our kitchen. And there's a bathroom in case of emergency. And down there is the basement where we work on something." said Pumbaa showing every room downstairs.

"What's down there?" asked Marcy curious.

"It's a secret." replied Pumbaa winking his left eye.

"Okay."

"Oh, we have our backyard whenever we like to go for swimming."

"You have a swimming pool? Cool!"

They walked upstairs until they reached the top. Now it's Timon's turn to show Marcy. He showed his best friend room to Marcy where it shows his bed right next to his desk with computer. It also has a bookshelf where he can read books and there were diplomas on the wall since Pumbaa earned it.

"Here we have four rooms. This one is Pumbaa's room where he sleeps and I put up some sound proof whenever he snores." said Timon.

"What's a sound proof?" asked Marcy.

"Sound proof is made by most people so they won't get interrupted like they were in music record or voice recording." explained Pumbaa.

"And you don't you have to worry about waking up in the middle of the night." Timon added.

Then he opens the door to his room where it shows his king size bed between two night stands. The left side that has an alarm clock and right the side has the lamp. He has his drawers for his clothes holding flat TV screen. It also has a painting of the jungle from Africa.

"This is my room where I sleep. I get to watch TV whenever I'm resting and I got my own bathroom." said Timon showing his room and his bathroom.

Then he showed her a guest room that's covered in blue sky with a bed, drawers, and desk.

"This is the guest room in case any of our friends would like to sleepover."

"Is this where I'm sleeping?" asked Marcy curious.

"Oh, that's not your room to sleep in. This…is where you sleep in." said Timon open the next door while Pumbaa set her suitcases down.

Marcy walked in and gasp softly. It is revealed that this room is covered with light green on the wall. Her bedsheets were both dark green and light green with two pillows. Her drawers have a piggy bank, brontosaurus toy, and a globe next to tea party set with Pikachu plush and stuffed teddy bear sitting at the table. Her bookshelf was filled with biological and science books. Her desk has some crayons to color on each papers. The toy box was next her bed that has lots of toys to play with. Finally, a butterfly was hanging from the ceiling.

Marcy couldn't believe her eyes. She was lost for a word, but she never felt so happy when her room was filled with wonders. It's perfect. Marcy is smiling with her eyes sparkles.

"It's beautiful." said Marcy softly.

"Well, you like it?" asked Timon kindly.

"I love it! I can't believe you did all of this for me! It's perfect!" squealed Marcy happily. She went over to hug Timon's leg.

"Thank you so much, mister." said Marcy kindly.

Timon hugged her back putting his hands on her backpack.

"No problem, kiddo. You know, you can call me whatever you like."

Marcy looked up at his eyes smiling.

"I love you, daddy."

Timon felt his heart warmed when she called him daddy. He kneeled and gave her a warm hug.

"I love you too, Mar-Mar." replied Timon.

Pumbaa tears were shed a little, but happy as he took out his phone and take picture. It is so beautifully perfect. They let go of their hug and looked at each other's eyes.

"Welcome home."

Then their moments were interrupted when they heard a stomach growl. They looked at Pumbaa confused. He thinks he felt embarrassed.

"Sorry." Pumbaa apologize.

"Don't be sorry, Pumbaa. It's your stomach and speaking of which, what are you hungry for?"

"You know, I think we should let Marcy pick out something for lunch." Pumbaa suggested.

"Good idea, Pumbaa. So Marcy, what do you want for lunch?" asked Timon.

Marcy hasn't think about it at first, but then she started to remember when her friend's parents used to work in a restaurant.

"How about Thai Go?" Marcy suggested.

"Thai Go?" asked Timon curious.

"Uh huh, Anne's parents work at the Chinese restaurant. I have never been to a restaurant before since I'm an orphan." Marcy explained.

"Alright then, Thai Go it is." said Timon standing up.

"Really?"

"Yep, that's where we're going. Oh, and you might want to leave your Wormy and your backpack here." replied Timon.

Marcy nodded. She took off her backpack and set it by her bed. She gently set her stuffed caterpillar on her bed in front of the pillows.

"You be good, Wormy. I'll be back before dinner." said Marcy talking to her toy. She walked out from her and run downstairs. Timon chuckled as he and Pumbaa following her. They exit through the door and close the door behind them. Marcy is skipping to the car singing.

"We are family! I got my daddy with me! We are family! Get everybody and sing!" Marcy singing happily.

Timon and Pumbaa walking over to their vehicle.

"Your father will be very proud of you, Timon." said Pumbaa.

"Yeah, Pumbaa. Me too."

Timon open the door for Marcy as she climbs into the backseat. She put on her seatbelt while he close the door for her. They got into their vehicle and start the engine. They pulled out from the house and drove off. Timon looked at his phone to tapped on the map and search for a Chinese restaurant.

"So Marcy, any music you like to listening to?" asked Timon.

"Radio Disney!" cheered Marcy.

"Okay then, coming right up." Timon switched the channel on a radio until he reached the channel and the music is on. Marcy remember this song where she used to watch TV back in the orphanage.

"I love this song!" squealed Marcy.

"Wait, you love this song? Well me too! Wanna sing along?" said Timon offering.

"You got it." replied Pumbaa

The music stops. They all laughed together.

"Oh man, this feels great!" said Timon proudly.

"Yeah, it was my favorite music!" said Marcy happily.

"Glad you enjoyed, kid. (sigh) Brings back so many memories where we used to enjoy our summer vacation."

"Hey look! We're here." said Pumbaa.

They pulled in to the parking lot and turned off the engine. They got out from the car and looked at the small building with a sign says "Thai Go". Timon open the door for Marcy when she got out and close the door behind her.

"Is this the restaurant?" asked Timon.

"Yep, that's the one when Anne's been telling about." replied Marcy.

"I hope you're right about this."

They walked over to the restaurant and enter the building. There we see a woman who was working until she hears Marcy saying hello to her.

"Hi Mrs. Boonchuy." Marcy greeted the woman.

She turned around when it bears a resemblance quite similar to Anne but has light wrinkles at the side of her eyes, and unlike Anne, her hair was tied into a ponytail at the back. She's wearing her dark blue and purple coat, light grayish jeans, and her dress shoes. She smiled at the girl.

"Marcy? What a wonderful surprise to see you." Then she looked at those two gentlemen who's standing with five-year-old girl. "And who's this?"

"This is my dad and my uncle. They adopted me." Marcy introduced her adopted family to a woman.

They waved their hands.

"Hi there." greeted Pumbaa.

"So, you must be those two when you found Marcy and stood against this bully? Anne told me everything about you." said Mrs. Boonchuy.

"Why yes, yes we are. I'm Timon and this is Pumbaa, my best friend."

"Please to meet you, ma'am."

"ความสุขเป็นของฉันทั้งหมด" said Mrs. Boonchuy speaking Thai. (The pleasure is all mine.)

"Come again?" Timon confused.

"I think she's speaking Thai." said Pumbaa.

"You learned my language. How smart are you." said Mrs. Boonchuy impressed.

"Why thank you, ma'am." Pumbaa thanked her. Suddenly, they heard a familiar childish voice.

"Marcy? Is that you?"

Marcy looked and smiled.

"Anne!"

It turns out when Anne came in giving Marcy a hug and looked at each other's eyes smiling.

"I don't believe it?! You finally came!" squealed Anne smiling.

"That's right, I'm here and looked who's with me?" said Marcy showing her friend to her adopted family.

Anne remembers those two.

"Hey, you're here too?" asked Anne smiling.

"Yep, we're her family now." replied Pumbaa.

"Wow! That is so cool! Mom, those are the ones that jumped over us that while riding their skateboard." said Anne.

"Really?" asked Mrs. Boonchuy.

"Well, yes, technically we have trouble with doing exercise when I had to help Pumbaa to slow down and we didn't know that there are two girls riding their bikes as jumped over from crashing them." replied Timon when rubbed back of his head nervously blushing.

"It's quite alright. Accidents happen."

Suddenly, a man shows up resemblance to Anne, though mostly the dark brown hair. He has a big chin, dark thick brown eyebrows above his eyes, light wrinkles underneath his eyes and a big yet a bit flat nose. He's wearing a yellow polo shirt with red stripes having a blue shield like symbol at the heart area as well as a 3 at the back of his shirt, a pair of blue jeans and a pair sandals.

"Hello, how can I help you?" greeted Mr. Boonchuy.

"Dad, they're the ones that jumped over us from the park." said Anne introducing him.

"Those two?" asked Mr. Boonchuy.

"Yes sir, we were practicing for skateboarding." replied Pumbaa honest.

"Really? Well, you two should be more careful when you hit someone."

"Sorry." Pumbaa apologized.

"Hi, Mr. Boonchuy." greeted Marcy

"Oh, Marcy. I didn't see you here. How are you?" asked Mr. Boonchuy.

"It was great! My dad and my uncle adopted me this morning." replied Marcy.

"Well, congratulations."

"Why thank you, sir. We just wanted to make her happy." said Timon

"Awe, how sweet of you. What brings you two here?" asked Mrs. Boonchuy kindly.

"We thought we could try something new here in your restaurant." replied Pumbaa.

"Well, you came to the right place. I'll let our employees know that we're having our lunch break." said Mrs. Boonchuy and she spoke Thai language to the receptionist woman when nodded.

Anne's parents are escorting their customers to their table and they all sit down together. Marcy is sitting at the table between Anne and her adopted father while Anne is sitting right between her mother and her best friend. Soon a male waiter arrives with their menus. Mrs. Boonchuy thanked him in Thai language and looked at the menu.

"Now, what would you two like something to eat?" asked Mrs. Boonchuy.

"Alright, let's see here. Uh…. are there any bugs on the menu?" Timon asked when looking at the menu.

Anne's parents were confused at first. Pumbaa shrink his eyes and nudged his friends shoulder.

"Wait, did I just say bugs? Sorry about that. Force of habit." Timon apologized.

"Why don't we try some the Golden Shrimp? It sure looks delicious." Pumbaa suggested.

"Alright, we'll take the Golden Shrimp for both of us." said Timon.

"Daddy, can I have some chicken nuggets?" asked Marcy when she looked on the kids menu.

"Of course you can, sweetie. It's your first time here in a restaurant." replied Timon.

"Thank you." said Marcy.

"Hey mom, can I have one too?" Anne asked.

"Yes sweetie, we'll get you some nuggets." replied Mrs. Boonchuy.

"We'll take the usual." said Mr. Boonchuy.

"Absolutely, I'll get your orders ready." said the waiter as he already written down their orders and took the menus.

Anne's parents thanked him in Thai language as the waiter went to the kitchen. A female waitress brought their cups and poured the water into the cups. They looked at Marcy's adopted father and uncle to have their conversation.

"What did you two say you were from?" asked Mr. Boonchuy.

Timon and Pumbaa started to get nervous a bit when he asked them. They moved their eyes to looked at each other and moved their eyes back at Anne's parents. They know what they have to say to them, but Timon spoke first.

"Africa."

"Really? In which country?"

"Uh, Tanzania." Timon answered.

"Ooh, sounds lovely. Are there any animals lived there?" Mrs. Boonchuy asked.

"Why yes, we have plenty of animals. We have lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, monkeys, and all other animals that are in savanna." Pumbaa added.

"So true, because we love animals, except the predators that tried to eat us." Timon commented.

"Predators?" Mr. Boonchuy asked confused.

"Well, we have rough history with hyenas and crocodiles, but not all predators are bad. As you can see, carnivores need food to survive and for the herbivores, they eat plants. If they die, their body will become the grass and the antelope eat the grass. They have all connected to the great Circle of Life." Pumbaa explained the details.

"Wow, that's an interesting story." Mrs. Boonchuy impressed.

"Why thank you. We kinda missed our home from Africa because we just moved here three days ago way before we adopted Marcy." said Pumbaa.

"Now then, how long have you two lived here?" Timon asked.

"Glad you ask, my wife and I used to live in Thailand until we get married and moved here in Los Angeles to start a new life. We have our house, our restaurant, and raising our own daughter. We sometimes visit Thailand when our families live there and celebrate our tradition teaching our daughter to do our proper way." Mr. Boonchuy explained.

"What kind of tradition?" Pumbaa asked.

"Well, sometimes Anne can be a little stubborn when she rebelled."

"Dad, you're embarrassing me." said Anne complained.

"He's just giving you example, sweetie." said Mrs. Boonchuy.

"Like I said, we were trying to teach her in proper ways when it comes to Thai, but unfortunately she was being picked on by some tourist because she talks normal here and we talk like Asian. So we have to banned some tourists for those who mocked my daughter and my families name." said Mr. Boonchuy sternly when he mentioned from the past.

"On the other hand, we signed her up for Muay Thai class after we discovered that she learned to defend herself by accidentally breaking our pots, but she's got some spirit in her." Mrs. Boonchuy added.

"Wow, can she really do all that?" asked Pumbaa.

"Only when she has to learned patience. Being a warrior has to take responsibility."

"With great power comes great responsibility."

"Exactly."

Suddenly, their waiter arrived with their meals. He set down some Golden Shrimp, Chinese Noodles with souy sauce, and chicken nuggets at the table. Anne's mom thanked him in Thai language and their waiter left. Anne's parents started eating their meal. Timon and Pumbaa picked up the Golden Shrimp and took a bite out of it and then they chew slowly.

"Hmm, that's not so bad." said Pumbaa eating.

"You liked it?" said Mr. Boonchuy.

"Yeah, taste like chicken." Timon commented.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it."

For Anne and Marcy, they are eating their nuggets. They looked at each other's eyes and smiled. Marcy enjoyed her first meal in the restaurant. She has never been outside of the orphanage until she's been adopted. Clearly, she enjoyed hanging out with her friends.

"So Marcy, you like it here?" asked Anne.

"I love it! It was so good!" said Marcy happily.

"I knew you like it here."

They have finished their meal and drank their water. They use some napkins to wipe off their lips.

"Mmm, those shrimps are sure delicious!" said Pumbaa.

"Well I gotta admit, it sure taste like chicken." Timon added.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. You see, my husband and I are running our restaurant for years. Sometimes we closed our restaurant to spend some more time with our daughter." said Mrs. Boonchuy.

"We also closed for a holiday." Mr. Boonchuy added.

"Good to know." said Timon.

Suddenly, Pumbaa let out a burp. They looked at Pumbaa. The girls begin to laugh a little bit while Anne's parents were looking at him oddly.

"Pumbaa, where are your manners?" said Timon when he takes seriously.

"Sorry." Pumbaa apologized.

"You have to excuse him. It happens all the time."

Their waiter arrived to ready for their checkout. Timon pulled out his credit and give it to the waiter. He left with the credit card to start paying. For Anne's parents, they don't have to pay their bills since they worked their restaurant meaning they get free food for discount.

"Hey mom, can I go over to her house?" Anne ask her mother.

"No sweetie, you have Muay Thai class in the afternoon." replied Mrs. Boonchuy.

"Aw, sorry Marcy." said Anne disappointed.

"It's okay, maybe I'll see you again sometime." said Marcy softly.

Timon thought of something. He pulled out his note and write down so that he can show it to her parents.

"I'll tell you what, I've written down some notes so that I can give you our address and our phone number. If that's alright with you." said Timon.

"Of course, let me add your phone number." said Mrs. Boonchuy

She and her husband pulled out their phone as they added the phone numbers into their contacts. Then Anne's mother write down her notes and shows them to their address and their phone number.

"All set, here's our address and our phone number."

"Why thank you. So what day would you like to come over to our house?" Timon ask when adding her parents phone numbers.

"How about Saturday. Anne also have her studying tomorrow."

"Alright, Saturday it is."

"What time when you come over?" Pumbaa asked.

"In about a noon." Mr. Boonchuy asked.

"Yay! Now we get to play at my house!" Marcy cheered.

"Yes!" Anne cheered.

"Now Anne, whenever we come over for visit, I want you to be on your best behavior." said The girl's mother.

"Okay mom, I promise."

Then their waiter returned and give Timon's credit card back to him.

"Thank you." He thanked the waiter and left.

They all stand up from the table and shake Anne's parents hands.

"It was truly honor to meet you, ma'am." said Timon shaking his hands with Anne's mother.

"The honor is mine. You are welcome here anytime you like to come back for visit."

"Thank you." Then he looked at his adopted daughter. "Alright pumpkin, you ready?"

Marcy nodded. Then she gives Anne a hug.

"I'm so glad that I get to see you again Anne."

"Thanks Marcy, and I'm glad that you have a cool dad. Sorry we couldn't see Sasha today."

"It's okay, we'll see her again soon. Catch ya later."

"You too, bye Marcy."

"Bye Anne."

The girls wave their hands when Marcy walked out to the exit with her adopted father and her uncle. Anne's parents waved by to them.

"Thanks for coming to Thai Go!" said Mr. Boonchuy.

"Thanks for the meal!" said Pumbaa.

"Have a good day!" Timon added.

"You too." replied the girl's father.

They watched them exit through the door. Anne's parents looked each other smiling.

"You know, those two are like odd fellows, but they seemed fine to me."

"It sure is. It's so nice of them when they adopted Marcy." said his wife. Then she looked at Anne smiling. "Don't you worry honey, we'll see them again this Saturday."

"Thanks mom. I'm glad Marcy is having a great time with her family." said Anne looking out the window when Marcy and her adopted family got into their car and left the parking lot as they went straight home.

Anne can now be able to visit to Marcy's new house. I come up with the ideas when they first met her parents at their restaurant. I was originally going to waited out until Anne's parents names were revealed, but unfortunately it hasn't confirmed yet. So I'll just continue the story without their first name. Stay tuned for the next chapter.
