Chapter 18: Sleepover

Back home, they finally arrived by parking by their house. Timon and Pumbaa got out from their vehicle carrying their lunch in the bags while Marcy and Anne gout from the back as they followed them behind. They all went inside the house and set their lunch in the kitchen.

"Alright, let's our hands washed up before we eat." said Timon.

"Okay." replied Marcy.

They washed their hands from the downstairs bathroom and then they all sat the table. Timon gave some kids meal to Marcy and Anne while Pumbaa pulls out two burgers for him and Timon as they started to eat their lunch.

"So, you girls feeling okay?" said Timon when eating his burger and took a drink.

"Yep. I'm okay." replied Marcy

"Mmm hmm." Anne added.

"Good, just want to make sure, but let me tell you something. Marcy, I should've known better to keep an eye on you when you been picked on by some bullies. I'm sorry for not be there for you and your friends when were shock that they treated you so bad." said Timon as he apologizes.

"It's okay, dad. I know you tried to help me, but I stood up against them rather being scared." said Marcy.

"Well, that's good. I am so proud of what you stood up against and I like to know when did you learn to say some harsh words like that?" said Pumbaa as he asked.

"Oh, I heard what my dad said something all the time." said Marcy softly playing her french fry.

"(chuckles) It's alright, pumpkin. We were surprised that you called those mean girls that way, but don't do that again. Okay?" Timon reminded her.

"Okay."

"Good, now let's finish those up so that I can give you girls a bath time."

"Yay! Bath time!" Marcy cheers.

"It's okay. I've already learned how to wash myself." said Anne.

"Hmm, good for you kid, but I still have to wash off some dirt from your hair. Besides, you got some leaf's all over your hair." said Timon as he noticed.

Anne raised her arm to take a leaf off from hair her and looked at it.

"Huh, that's weird."

Pumbaa finish eating his meal and drink his soda. Of all of sudden, he let out he burp and quickly covered his mouth. He thought it might be embarrassed in front of the girls while he was blushing.

"Sorry." Pumbaa apologize.

Both Anne and Marcy are giggling at Pumbaa.

"Pumbaa, Pumbaa, Pumbaa. What am I going to do with you." said Timon shook his head gently as he smile a bit. "Let's washed you girls off."

"Yes, daddy." said Marcy.

Both girls got off from the table after finishing their lunch as they ran upstairs to the bathroom. Timon followed behind as he takes two towels and went inside see both girls that turns on the bath tub. Before they get started, he heard a doorbell rang. He heard Pumbaa's hollering.

"I'll get it!"

"You sure you can handle that?" Timon asked.

"Yes sir." Anne answered.

"Okay, why don't you girls washed off while I'll have a little chat."

"Okay." said Marcy and Anne altogether.

He closed the door and walk downstairs to see Pumbaa was standing by the door, but closed. Once Timon opens the door where it shows Sasha stood in front of her parents wearing her backpack.

Her mother that has dark blonde hair wearing her red earrings, red long dress shirt, black dress pants, and her black dress shoes while her father has light blonde hair, wearing grayish short sleeve shirt, brown pants, and work shoes.

Sasha was smiling waving at them, but her parents were both calm and respectful like rich people rather than smiling at Marcy's adoptive father. Speaking of which, Timon and Pumbaa were smiling at them.

"Oh! Hi there. You must be Sasha's parents." Timon greeted them.

"Yes, is this the Wu's residence?" Mr. Waybright asks.

"Technically, it's "Berkowitz" residence and yes, we live here." replied Timon.

"What brings you here, neighbor?" Pumbaa asked.

"Well, you met our daughter, Sasha who came to your house recently and told us that you defend her from those ruffians." replied Mrs. Waybright.

"Oh, yeah! Those bullies. (scoffs) We chased them off." Timon recalls from the incident, but covers up his secrets.

"I must say, I should be thanking you for defending our daughter." said Mr. Waybright as he calmly smiles.

"You're welcome, mister...uh..."

"Waybright."

"Waybright. Got it. You're welcome, Mr. Waybright."

"Are you two like together or something?" Mrs. Waybright asked raising her eybrows.

"Actually, we were both roommates." Pumbaa answered. "My friend and I adopted Marcy when I became her uncle."

"Really?" asked Mr. Waybright.

"Yep! We're like brothers!" Pumbaa answered.

"Yeah, brothers." Timon added.

"I see." Sasha's mother bends her knees looking at her daughter.

"Now Sasha, I want you on your best behavior while were busy. Listen to her father, do what he says, and try not to break anything."

"I'm not gonna break anything. I promise I'll behave." said Sasha softly.

"Then listen to your mother. I don't want any trouble like the last time you got into fight with some boys from the playground. Do you understand?" said Mr. Waybright reminded her.

"Yes, daddy." replied Sasha softly.

"That's a good girl."

Mrs. Waybright ruffled her hair gently and kiss her daughters fore head and stood up. Sasha walks slowly inside to the door passing by Timon and Pumbaa.

"Bye mom. Bye dad." Sasha waved.

"Goodbye darling, see you tomorrow." replied Mr. Waybright.

"I trusted the two of you to look after our daughter during her sleepover." said Mrs. Waybright.

"Don't worry, ma'am. We'll look after her." replied Timon.

"Take care!" Pumbaa exit greeted and close the door.

They both look at Sasha smiling while standing.

"So, what do you wanna do for tonight?" Timon asked kindly.

"I don't know. Maybe some makeover?" replied Sasha.

"We will see about that. In the meantime, I'll go check on the girls that are in the bathroom. You're welcome to watch TV if you want."

"Okay."

Timon went upstairs to check the girls while Sasha went to the living room to watch TV when Pumbaa turned on. Timon open the door and see that both girls wrapped themselves with towels. He was surprised that both girls wash themself off without assistance. The bathtub was empty. Marcy and Anne looked up and smiling.

"Look, daddy! We're all clean together!" Marcy smiled.

"Wow! You two did washed off by yourself!" Timon impressed.

"Told you that I can handle it." said Anne.

"Very nice. Anyway, Sasha's here when her parents dropped her off."

"Really?!" Marcy gasps smiling.

"Yeppers, so get dressed. You don't want to keep her waiting."

Anne and Marcy cheerfully ran off from the bathroom and went to her room closing the door. Timon shook his head gently with smiling. He went to get the basket picking up some dirty clothes and put it inside as he carries it downstairs.

He went to the living room to check on Sasha watching TV where it shows boxing channel sitting on the floor while Pumbaa was sitting on the couch. Timon was curious that he was expecting for Sasha to watch cartoon rather than sports.

"So, whatcha watching, kiddo?" Timon asked.

"I'm watching wrestling!" Sasha answered fisting her bumps.

"Huh. You sure you don't want to watch kids show?"

"Nah, it's fine. My parents wouldn't allow me to watch wrestling because I got into a fight with some bullies."

Timon took a glance at Pumbaa who's shrugging.

"Don't look at me. She was asking if I can switch the channel." said Pumbaa.

"Okaaay." said Timon then turned his head at Sasha. "Just want to let you know that your friends are putting on some clean clothes."

"Okay." replied Sasha.

Suddenly, they heard the door open from upstairs as both girls were running downstairs as they entered the room smiling. Marcy is wearing her light green shirt, brown pants, and white socks while Anne is wearing her yellow shirt, blue sky shorts, and white socks.

"Sasha! You made it!" Marcy cheers as she and Anne give Sasha a hug.

"Of course, I'm here silly." Sasha giggles.

"Wanna play some games?" Anne asks.

"Sure!" Sasha answered. "Let's do make over!"

"Yay!" Both Anne and Marcy are cheering.

All three little girls ran upstairs cheering when it comes to playtime. Timon and Pumbaa were smiling warmly at that moment.

"They reminded me when we used to hang out with Simba back when he was just a little cub." said Pumbaa as he remembers.

"Yeah, me too." Timon agrees.

He left the room carrying a laundry basket and walk downstairs to the basement. Timon put some dirty clothes inside of the washing machine adding some soap as he set on warm. He closes the lid and start the laundry.

Timon waited for the laundry to get washed up. He took a glance at the safe where it stood there. He smirked as he remembers about what happen back there. He looked at his watch as the clock ticks. It was all too quiet in the basement with laundry is running. He took a glance back at the safe again.

"Hey, you're not having trouble, are you?"

He was staring at the safe silently.

"What's the matter? Frog got your tongue?"

Suddenly, his golden yellow gemstone on a necklace started to glow as it goes bright up and down. Timon looked down raising his left eyebrow. He picked up his necklace by using his left hand looking at it while scratching his head with his right hand.

"That's odd."

Then all of sudden, there's a bright light of neon's color from the inside of the safe box. He started to get confused for all of sudden. He looked at the door thinking that it was just a prank.

"Ha ha. Very funny, Pumbaa." said Timon sarcastically. "If you think this is about a prank, well think again."

He's waiting for Pumbaa to reply, but then he heard a voice whispering.

"Touch the box."

"Hello?"

Timon looked around noticed something. He started to concern about it. He must've thought that it was a ghost, but it doesn't sound like one. He picked up the broom shakingly for self-defense.

"Touch the box."

"Who's there?!"

Timon panicked when he hears it again. He took a glance at the safe with neon shines behind the safe door. He cautiously walks closer to the safe and quickly type the passcode as he opens the door.

His eyes wide open when three gemstones on music box was glowing. He was shockingly surprised that the stones were glowing. He quickly glanced down at his necklace as it glows and looks up again. Timon has no idea how the gemstones are glowing.

"Take a peek."

"Quit whispering in my ears!" Timon snapped dropped the broom covering his ears.

"Just a little peek."

He closes his eyes gritted his teeth thinking it was trying to haunt him. He slowly opens his eyes staring at the music box. The more whispering to him, the more curious leads to danger. He slowly releases his ears as he slowly reached his right hand to the box.

"I think I'll just take a little peek."

As soon as Timon reach his hand slightly touch the gemstones thinking that it might zapped him or something, but then there was a flash as it shocked him with many voices and unexpected event.

"Too dangerous for all of us."

"I will rule not only this world, but all worlds!"

"You'll never get away with this!"

"I give you this! I gave you everything!"

"We're right with you Anne, til the end."

"Me and Grime will hold him! Just go!"

"I just….. didn't want to be alone."

"No, it can't be?!"

"Polly, get the box! Get the box!"

"Give him back. Give. Him.BACK!"

"I'm sorry...for everything."

Then it was all too quiet.

Timon slowly open his eyes when it's all too blurry until Pumbaa as a warthog telling him something when he can't hear anything until his ears is getting better when his best friend repeatedly saying his name.

"Timon?! Can you hear me?!" said Pumbaa worrying.

Timon groaned as he lifts himself up, but as a meerkat that he didn't notice. He rubbed his eye until he was staring at Pumbaa.

"Pumbaa?"

"Are you okay?" Pumbaa ask worrying.

"(groan) I'm fine. What just happen?" Timon asked.

"You were lying down on the floor." Pumbaa answered.

"I did?"

"Don't you remember?"

Timon move his head around and see that he was in his own room. He was laying on his bed. he grabbed his tail and quickly glance at his necklace holding to it by his hands.

"How did I get here?" Timon asked again.

"I found you lying unconscious from the basement and I brought you back upstairs."

"Really?"

"Yeah, what were you doing with the music box?"

"Wait, what?"

"You know, when you open the safe and then I close it back on."

Timon raise his eyebrows as he started to react. He remembers what he just saw or what he did. He doesn't know what just happened. He remembers when he touches the box until this happens. he tries to recall, but he has no clue about experience.

"Pumbaa, are you seeing this?" Timon asked in concern.

"See what?"

"Well, at first I thought it was just a prank, but it turns out that it wasn't."

"What are you talking about?"

"Okay, I know sounds crazy, but here me out. While I was waiting for laundry, my necklace started to glow when I look through the safe which turns out that it was the music box that just glows. There's a creepy voice whispering in my ears saying that I have to touch it and then BOOM! All of sudden, I had so many experiences and I have no idea how that happened."

Pumbaa blinked his eye staring at him.

"Maybe you should need a therapy." Pumbaa suggested.

"What?! No! I don't need a therapy! I want answers! I like to know what the heck is going with this box!"

Suddenly, the door burst opens. Timon and Pumbaa were startled as they turn their heads at Sasha holding her makeup supplies with Anne and Marcy smiling at them.

"Who wants makeover!" Sasha claims it.

Timon and Pumbaa held on to each other's arms screaming. Later on, the girls put on some make up as they giggled dressing both Timon and Pumbaa up wearing their makeup.

Timon is wearing a red dress with red lipstick, pearl earrings, and red dress shoes while Pumbaa is wearing a feathery scarf around his neck, sunbathing hat, sunglasses, red lipsticks and four red makeups on his hooves of each foot.

"There. Now you're both pretty!" said Sasha.

Both Anne and Marcy were giggles at their appearance. Timon took a glance at Pumbaa sternly while Pumbaa was all confused.

"You should never speak any of this." said Timon sternly.

"Oaky." Pumbaa agrees.

Later that night at the hotel, a rented car has arrived in front. Eddie and his grandparents came got out from the car and took out their belongings from the trunk. They must've already took an airport that flew all the way from Taipei to Los Angeles and took rented car to the hotel.

Eddie's grandfather paid his money for everything that they can travel. Later on, Eddie and his grandparents has entered their room. It was his first time coming here in America as he thought. Then he decided to talk to his grandparents about his first visit.

"Hey grandpa? Have you been here before?"

"Yes, Eddie. You were there when you were young along with your parents." His grandfather answered.

"Really?"

"Yes, your parents used to live somewhere in Los Angeles, however when your parents dropped your sister off at the orphanage, they send you back to Taiwen with us. We have no idea what happen."

Eddie did recall what his grandfather talks to him about the past. He never thought that he lived once in Los Angeles along with his parents and his sister, but doesn't seem to remember. He wants to know why his parents send him away back to Hong Kong with his grandparents.

"How long do we have to stay?" Eddie asked.

"We'll be visiting to China Town first and then we'll go over to the park. We have two days to visit in order to save up our money." His grandmother answered.

"Was it like similar from Hong Kong?"

"Yes, that's where were going. We'll get some rest. We're waking up early in the morning."

"Yes, grandma."

Eddie walked over to the back door and opens the door as he stepped outside to balcony. He was staring at a place where he can see so many lights from highway traffic driving north and south. He can see Los Angeles far away from here. This place sure is pretty, but he couldn't see some stars up in the sky due to population in L.A.

He sighed as he stares at the city thinking about his past. How can he not remember anything? He took out a photo of him as four-year-old boy with his father stood close to his mother holding a baby girl. Eddie sighed sadly.

"Marcy. Please be okay."

Meanwhile back at the house, Timon and Pumbaa already wash themself off from makeup. They have already eaten their dinner with the girls. Timon and Pumbaa are sitting on the floor as both animals eating their popcorn while Anne, Sasha, and Marcy wearing their pajamas are all sitting together on the couch watching a fantasy show on TV.

It shows a good witch wearing her white robe and her white hat holding her magic staff against the black dragon that has black skin and blue body with wings spreading as the fire surrounds the good witch.

"Give it up, Azura! I always win!"

"You're wrong, warlock! Good triumph over evil and evil shall never win!"

"NNOOOOO!"

Azura use her magic to defeat the dragon thus transform him back into a human appearance. Five-year-old girls were amazed at the TV. Timon and Pumbaa were impressed since they started to join watch TV shows with them.

"Wow!" said The girls altogether with eyes sparkles.

"What do you know. She actually did it." said Pumbaa.

"Man, who would've thought that this dragon looks resemble from "Sleeping Beauty."

As the credits starts rolling, the girls were cheering for the show as it ends.

"I love this show!" Marcy cheers.

"It was great!" Sasha happily commented.

"Let's watch it again!" said Anne.

"It's getting late. We should probably get you girls some sleep." said Timon as he turns off the TV.

"Aw!" Marcy whined.

"Do we have to?" Anne pouted.

"Boo!" Sasha commented.

"Now girls, we don't you three up late because the two of you will be picked up by your parents first thing in the morning." said Pumbaa as he reminded them.

"He's right. You girls should get some sleep." Timon agrees.

"Okay." said Marcy softly.

"That's my girl. Off to bed."

The girls got off from the couch as they all walk upstairs to Marcy's room where Anne and Sasha get to spend the night with. They all climbed up on Marcy's bed as they snuggled up inside their bed sheets.

Sasha unties her scrunchies as her hair flows down. Marcy is holding on to her stuffed caterpillar as she's snuggling. Timon and Pumbaa entered his daughter's room to check on them.

"You girls comfortable?" Timon asked.

"Mmm hmm." They all answered.

"Good to know."

Timon jumped on the bed as he first ruffled on Anne's bushy hair, then brush Sasha's hair, and gives Marcy a peck on her forehead. Marcy yawns.

"Goodnight girls."

"Goodnight daddy." said Marcy.

"Goodnight mister." said Anne and Sasha altogether.

"Sweet dreams." said Pumbaa.

All three girls slowly closed their eyes. Timon and Pumbaa felt their heart warm knowing that it's all too cute. Timon pulled out his phone and took a picture. He looked at his phone and smiled softly.

"It's perfect."

He jumped on Pumbaa's back as they left the room turning off the light and close the door gently by Pumbaa's tail. They took a glance at each other softly.

"We should get some sleep too." Timon suggested.

"I agree. Well, goodnight." said Pumbaa.

"Sleep tight." Timon hops off of Pumbaa.

"Dream of bed bugs tonight."

Pumbaa went to his own room and close the door behind him. Timon turn off the hallway lights, entered his room and close the door behind him. He jumped on his bed as he snuggled in. He took a glance at his necklace at the nightstand.

Timon picked it up gently and examined it. He was staring at the oval yellow gemstone thinking about what happened back then. The meerkat started to pondering why his necklace was glowing when the music box glows as well. Timon shook his head and set his necklace down at the night stand. He turns of the lamp and snuggled himself inside of his bed sheets. He yawns as he drifted into sleep.

But what he didn't noticed that he was being watched by the wisps, the ones from the temple that both meerkat and warthog has encountered with. Then it started to disappear leaving the meerkat alone sleep peacefully.
