Chapter 24: Truth or Dare
Back to Timon as he sings along song, "Sweet Home Alabama" by Lynyrd Skynyrd on the radio when driving his car on the highway as the sun goes down.
Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet home Alabama
Lord I'm comin' home to you
As he came to halt when the light turns red. Just then, Mr. Boonchuy approach riding his scooter next to him as he delivers some food from Thai Go. Timon noticed this and opens the window while the music is playing.
"Hey, Mr. Boonchuy!" Timon greeted.
"Oh, Timon! How are you been doing?" said Mr. Boonchuy smiling.
"Just got out work. You?" replied Timon.
"Just delivering foods?"
"Good to hear. Any plans coming up next week?"
"Yes, there's a game expo that's been coming up next Friday."
"Really?" Timon asked.
"Yep, and I'm gonna sign up for that." replied Mr. Boonchuy.
"(chuckled) Well, my daughter is gonna beat you to it." Timon chuckled.
"As if. Think it's gonna be father and daughter quality time?" Mr. Boonchuy asked smirking.
"You bet there is." replied Timon smirking.
Just then, the lights turned green.
"That's our cue. See ya later." said Mr. Boonchuy.
"Take care." replied Timon.
Both fathers drove off and went separate ways. Few minutes later when Timon finally arrived home as he parks the car on the curb. He turns off the engine, step out from, and walk straight to the door.
"I'm home!" Timon hollered.
"Hi, Timon! Just in time for dinner." said Pumbaa peeked his head out from the kitchen.
"Ooh! What's for dinner?" Timon asked.
"Noodles!" replied Pumbaa.
"Which noodles? Italy or China?"
Pumbaa revealed his homemade noodles with mixture of vegetables on his bowl showing to him. Timon smiling when raising his eyebrows.
"Pumbaa, you've done it again."
"Thanks."
Marcy is playing her game console on her bed. She's been addicted to any video games since she was so young back at the orphanage. And today, Marcy has been practicing for the next game competition.
"Alright, one more hit and I'll earn a new record in no time." said Marcy.
"Marcy! Dinner's ready!" Timon hollered offscreen.
She looked at her doorway. She smiles knowing that her dad is home.
"Coming!" replied Marcy.
She got off from her bed and walk downstairs to the kitchen. Timon and Pumbaa had already set their dishes at the table until Marcy took her seat.
"Hi, dad."
"Hey, pumpkin." Timon greeted her. "How's school?"
"It's going great! I got another A+!"
"That's my girl!"
"Have some Chinese noodles." Pumbaa offered. "It comes with chow mien."
"Don't mind if I do." said Marcy.
She picked herself some noodles on her bowl and start to eat her food. They eat their food as well as they slurp their noodles.
"Delicious." said Pumbaa.
"So, what else you've been doing at school?" Timon asked before eating his noodles.
"Oh, you know, Anne keeps me safe from being clumsy and all that stuff." Marcy answered.
"You took your game to school, didn't you?"
"What? No." Marcy teased. "Why would I?"
Timon raise his left eyebrows at her. He knows her well. Then Marcy gave in.
"Okay, you caught me."
"(sigh) Marcy, we talk about this." Timon shook his head.
"Sorry, dad. I can't help it."
"You have to help it. How many times we keep discussing about all this?"
"I know, but the game expo is coming up next week. I can feel it."
"I know it means a lot to you, but what would happen if you get caught during school? They're gonna take it away and won't give it back to you until after school." Pumbaa reminded her.
"See! Pumbaa gets it. Do you understand what I'm saying?" said Timon.
"Yes, dad." Marcy answered softly.
"It's alright, pumpkin. There's nothing to be ashamed of. If you want to go the game expo, you have to promise me that you should leave your game switch here when you're at school. Deal?
Marcy really wanted to beat the game so badly, but she has to promise her dad that she can't bring her game console to her school, otherwise it's bye-bye videogame.
"Deal." replied Marcy.
"That's my girl."
Suddenly, she felt a vibrate. She pulled her phone and looked at her text, but her eye grew shrank.
"Oh shoot! I almost forgot!" exclaimed Marcy.
"What is it?" Pumbaa asked.
"Oh, dad, is it alright that I can have a sleepover at Sasha's?"
"Of course, you can, but on one condition." Timon pause for something. "No more scary movie. Got it?"
"Got it!" Marcy thumbs up. "May I please be excuse?"
"Yes, you can."
"Thank you!"
Marcy left the table as she runs upstairs to pack her stuff. Timon is smiling softly at her.
"(sigh) Our little girl is growing up so fast." said Timon.
In her room, Marcy has packed her stuff like her pajamas, clean clothes, her videogames, and her books to read as she packed up in her duffle backpack. Once she's done, she walks back downstairs to the kitchen where they're washing dishes.
"Okay, I'm ready." said Marcy.
"That was fast." Timon surprised.
"Yep, I'm heading out."
"Oh! Before you go, you have to be extremely careful when it's getting dark."
"Rumors has it when bad guys are running loose." Pumbaa added.
"Bad guys are the worst." Timon finished it.
"How come there aren't any superheroes here?" Marcy asked.
"Just because they're busy at New York, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any superheroes here." Pumbaa explained.
"The point is when there's trouble, someone could get hurt or kidnapped. The last thing I know is when your friend got framed that he couldn't do." Timon added.
"That was like 10 months ago." said Marcy.
"Yeah, but we cleared the kid's name if it weren't for us. I mean, why would anyone tried to steal some sneakers from the shoe store?"
"Well, according to the newspaper, it's says here that the police has already found a criminal who framed Frank for stealing shoes." said Pumbaa showing the newspaper to them.
"When did this happen?" Marcy asked raising her right eyebrows.
"It was last week."
"That kid give this crook a really good punch." Timon remark.
"So does this mean that I can't ride my bike to my friend's house?" Marcy asked.
"You can, but you have to be careful out there. If anyone comes near you, use this." Timon hands out a taser.
"Is that a taser?"
"I don't think it's a good idea to use it." said Pumbaa when he's concerned.
"Oh, you're right. Too soon." He put away a taser and pulled out a spray. "How about pepper spray? Will it work?"
"Yep!" Pumbaa thumbs up.
Timon handed a pepper spray to Marcy and put it in her pocket.
"You know how to use it?" Timon asked.
"Yep." Marcy answered.
"Good, now all you gotta do is you gotta get safety smart." said Pumbaa.
"Isn't that the safety program that you showed me?"
"Yes. It's what we taught you better."
"Stay safe, have fun, and whatever you do, don't talk to strangers. If they come near you, use pepper spray." Timon reminded her.
"Got it. Love you, daddy." Marcy hugged her dad.
"Love you, Mar-Mar." Timon hugged her back.
"You be good now, okay?" said Pumbaa.
"Okay, bye Uncle Pumbaa. Bye Dad." Marcy waved as she exits the house.
"Bye Marcy." Timon waved smiling.
"See you tomorrow." Pumbaa added.
Marcy walks through the door. She walks over to the fence gate and got her bicycle out. She got on and start peddling as the middle age girl is heading over to her friend's house. It takes an hour to get to Sasha's house when Marcy arrived.
She got off her bicycle and set it by the tree. She walked up to the front porch and rang the door until Sasha opens the door smiling.
"Hey! You made it!" said Sasha.
"Here I am!" replied Marcy.
"Perfect timing, step right in."
Marcy walks through the door while Sasha close it behind her.
"Thanks for inviting me over to your house, Sash." said Marcy.
"No problem, Marbles. Anne's upstairs waiting for you."
"Sweet!"
They walk upstairs to Sasha's room as they enter where her room was covered with pink, but her wall was covered by some posters including "The Good Witch Azura" poster. Up on the ceiling where Christmas lights was hanging above her posters. Her bed has some plushies of an owl, a stuffed bear, and a frog next to her nightstand where it has figurine statues of Azura and Monster Hunters. She has her computer on her desk.
Anne was sitting on the floor reading her favorite superhero comic book series until Sasha and Marcy entered. Anne looked up at her smiling.
"Hi, Anne!" Marcy greeted.
"Hey, Mar-Mar." Anne greeted back.
"You up for challenge? I brought some videogames that we can play."
"Nice!"
"Alright girls, as the Queen of Sleepover, it's time for another Scare Dare Challenge, your names going into the Book of Losers if you lose." Sasha announced.
"Didn't we do that already?" Marcy asked.
"C'mon, Marbles. It was fun, and I promise you that it's gonna be easy."
Suddenly, a 10-year-old girl pops in her sister's room. Her hair color is same as Sasha's, but with short pigtails. She's wearing her red t-shirt over white long sleeve shirt, brown pants, and her pink shoes.
"Good luck with that one." said The girl teasing.
"Sandie, what did I told you about butting in?" Sasha teased back.
"Well, if you three are going to do Scare Dare Challenge, mom might not like it."
"Shut up." Sasha chuckled.
"Whatever." said Sandie rolled her eyes and went back to her own room.
"Alright, time to do sleepover!" Sasha raised her arm up with her fist.
"WOO!" cheered Anne and Marcy.
Later on, the girls started to play Marcy's videogame on TV by setting up her game switch. Both Anne and Sasha were playing against each other for Smash Bros while Marcy is watching.
"C'mon Anne! You got this!" Marcy cheered.
"Oh ho, I'm gonna win!" said Anne.
"No, you're not!" Sasha teased.
When Sasha's character is going to beat Anne's character by picking up the crate to get more items, but instead, the crate blows up sending her character as the elvish warrior screams. The game ends when Sasha was shocked. Anne won.
"Sonic wins!"
"Aw yeah! Who's number one?! I'm number one! Uh huh! Uh huh!" Anne cheers while doing her victory dance.
"Way to go Anne!" Marcy cheered for her.
"How are you keep winning?!" Sasha shocked.
It's Marcy turns to play against Anne as different characters. Sasha is watching them playing until time runs out, but then it ends up in "Sudden Death" mode.
"Alright, whoever win shall do the victory dance." said Anne.
"It's on!" replied Marcy.
Her character does her special move against Anne's character as the frog like Pokémon strike the fox sending him flying when the game ends.
"Greninja wins!"
"WHOO! I WON! I WON!" Marcy cheers while doing her victory dancing.
"Dude! That's uncool!" Anne exclaimed, but smiling at her.
After they took a break from playing videogames, they are setting up popcorns and their drinks at the coffee table to watch the movie. Marcy brought her DVDs with her when being told by her dad about not to watch scary movie.
The only movie she's allowed to watch are fantasy, sci-fi, action, or any genre movie that are good. For Sasha, however doesn't like the idea how Marcy made a suggestion for different movie.
"Alright, I brought two movies that we can pick to watch. Shall we watch "The Princess Bride" or "Pirates of the Caribbean"?" Marcy suggested.
"Marcy, did your dad ever tell you tell us about not watching scary movie?" Sasha asked, but uneased.
"Well, he said that it's not very healthy when I woke up from my nightmare which I got freaked out about dress like clowns" Marcy shuddered.
"I have to agree. Let's watch pirates movie." Anne suggested.
"Alright, you win, but just for the reminder that this movie we were watching might contain some scary image." said Sasha.
"As long as there isn't any scary part, how bad can it be?" Marcy added.
She spoke too soon when they are watching the part where pirates are walking underwater as they are cursed. Anne and Marcy were shuddered a bit while Sasha is eating her popcorn on couch. Once they step out from the shadows, the cursed pirates were turned into skeleton, but then Sandie jumped scared at them.
"BOO!"
"AAAHHH!"
Anne and Marcy screamed while the sisters laughed.
"Good one, sis!" Sasha laughed.
"Thanks!" Sandie giggled.
"Dude! Not cool!" Anne exclaimed.
After the movie ends, they all change their clothes into pajamas when taking turns by using the bathroom. They went back to Sasha's room as they are playing "Truth or Dare" challenge. Sandie joins the fun as well.
"Alright, we're gonna do "Truth or Dare" challenge. Whoever goes first shall get to pick." said Sasha.
"Oh! Oh! Pick me! Pick me!" said Marcy raising her hand eagerly.
"Alright, Marbles. You go first."
"Yes! Alright, Sasha. Truth or Dare?"
"Truth."
"Out of scale from one to 10, how long you have a crush on Darrel?" Marcy asked.
"To be honest, Marcy. I've known him since we were kindergarten." Sasha answered.
"Uh huh, and how often do you treat him that way. Did you give him a kiss?" Marcy tease.
"Sasha and Darrel sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Sandie teased.
"Cut it out!" Sasha snapped when she's blushing.
All three girls are laughing.
"Sorry, Sash. If he's your boyfriend, you had to treat him well." said Anne.
"Alright, my turn." said Sasha. "Truth or Dare?"
"Dare." replied Anne.
"I dare you to prank call on Marcy's dad."
"(gasp) You wouldn't dare!" Marcy gasp.
"C'mon Sash, not again." Anne groaned.
"Relax, Anne, where's your sense of humor? Unless you're too scared." Sasha teased.
"I'm not scared!"
"Then prove it."
"Fine, then I will!"
Anne picked up her cellphone to call Marcy's adoptive dad. Marcy knew that he's going to get ticked a little bit. Once Anne hears a ringtone, she heard a voice.
"Hello?"
"Is Homer there?" Anne asked, but with fake deep voice.
"Homer who?"
"Homer... Sapiens."
We cut to Timon as a meerkat after taking a shower holding his phone wearing yellow bathrobe and small towel on his head.
"Just a second, I'll check." He pops his head out to hollered his friend. "Hey, Pumbaa! Do you know Homo Sapiens?"
"What?" Pumbaa hollered.
"I said homosapiens!"
"Are you talking about cave men?"
"Wait, who is this?" Timon suspicious on them.
Back to Sasha's house as all the girls laugh while hearing Marcy's dad voice.
"Anne Boonchuy! Are you pranking me?!"
"(laughing) Sorry, sir... it was all just a prank!" Anne laughed.
"Yeah, well I'm lucky that I got home from work otherwise it's laughing stock for the rest of my life."
"Okay, my bad." Anne hangs up the phone while laughing.
"Do you really have to do that again?" Marcy giggled.
"It was all Sasha's idea."
"Well, you asked for it." said Sasha.
"Alright, Truth or Dare, Marcy?"
"Hmm... truth."
"Alright, time for the ultimate truth. Who do you have a crush on?" Anne asked.
Marcy started to blush.
"I... have no idea what you're talking about." said Marcy quietly.
"C'mon girl, admitted it. Who's your boyfriend?" Anne teased.
Marcy was too shy to talk about her feelings. She knew that she couldn't keep it a secret a little longer.
"Okay, I'll tell you, but if you promise me to keep it a secret."
"Don't worry, Marbles. I won't tell anyone."
"Okay, do you remember Ethan?"
"Yeah?" replied Sasha.
"You see... back when we were kids, we used to play together and he gave me a flower."
"Yeah, so?"
"The point is when we all grown up and go to school together, we bumped each other as we drop our school works. He was going to pick up my book, but I laid my... hand on his hand." Marcy finished her sentence.
It was silent for a second until Sandie breaks the silence.
"Aww!" Sandie cooed.
"Way to go, Marcy." said Sasha.
"Not bad, Mar-Mar." Anne added.
"You don't mind?" Marcy asked.
"Of course not! We don't mind. That's all." replied Sasha.
"Whew! For a moment, I thought you were gonna say that I..."
"Don't spoiled it."
"Girls, lights out! It's time for bed!" hollered Mrs. Waybright offscreen.
"Aw, I never get to pick one!" groan Sandie.
"Okay, Sandie, truth or dare?" said Marcy.
"Dare!"
"I dare you to give Sasha a tickle attack."
"Don't you dare!" Sasha gasps.
"Okay!" said Sandie. "Tickle attack!"
She launches into Sasha as she gives her a tickle attack when her older sister is laughing. Sandie is tickling under her older sister's stomach.
"(giggles) Sandie... cut it out!" Sasha laughs.
"Say your uncle!"
"Alright! Alright! Uncle!" Sasha laughed.
Both Anne and Marcy giggles. Sandie stops tickling. Sasha gave her a huge hug.
"I gotcha now, you little!" Sasha smiled.
Just then, Sasha's mother approach, but she's smiling at them.
"Girls, are you done playing?"
"Yes, mom." said Sasha and Sandie.
"Alright, it's past your bedtime."
"Okay, goodnight mom." said Sandie.
"Goodnight Mrs. Waybright." said Anne and Marcy altogether.
"Goodnight girls." said Mrs. Waybright as she left the room.
"Well, see you in the morning." said Sandie.
"Alright, goodnight little sis." said Sasha.
"Goodnight."
Sandie left the room. Sasha turns the light off and went to bed. Anne and Marcy shifted themselves into their sleeping bag that Sasha gave them for sleepover.
"Man, it's been fun." said Anne.
"It sure is. You're lucky that you don't have siblings." replied Sasha.
"Yeah, well my mom was thinking about adopting two since I looked after Cassandra and Zoe back when they were orphans. She told me that I have to be a big responsible girl where I meant to be, but I'm just... different."
"Let me guess, you don't like responsibility back when we were kids?" Sasha asked.
"Exactly!"
"It can't be that bad. My dad and my uncle use to not to have rules or responsibility before they adopt me. They teach me how to be a responsible girl like any girls. You should be one too." said Marcy.
"No offense, but we're all rebellious. We ditched school, we stay up all night, and we done so much trouble."
"I'm not in trouble."
"She meant me and Anne, Mar-Mar." said Sasha as she remarks.
"Oh, I know that."
"And speaking of which, are you still thinking about a sibling that you always wanted?" Sasha asked.
Marcy hasn't thought about it yet. She did remember when she use to have her older brother, but she couldn't remember what happened to him. All that matters when she feels like a burden, but she knew that a sibling would never forget each other.
"Maybe."
"Marcy?" Anne asked.
Her childhood friend looked away a bit, but she looked back at Anne with concern look.
"It's been so long and I couldn't remember what happened to him. What if he forgets about me? What if he doesn't like me?"
"That's not true. He would never forget you. All that matter is that he cares about you." said Anne softly.
"She's right. There are no reasons to get stressed out. You've always been a cheerful girl, huh?" Sasha added.
"Yeah, you're smart, caring, and most of all, the most important person of all time."
"Thanks, guys." Marcy thanked them.
"No problem." replied Anne.
"Alright, let's get some sleep." said Sasha.
"Alright, goodnight." Anne yawned.
"Sleep tight."
"Dream of bed bugs tonight." Marcy added.
Both girls open their eyes wide and looked at Marcy confused.
"I mean, don't let the bed bugs bite!" Marcy quickly retraced her sentence.
Anne and Sasha looked at each other and then they just shrugged. They all lied down and shifted into sleep. Except that Marcy is the only one that still awake. She looked to the window where it's too dark.
She knew that she couldn't see some stars up in the sky due to populations in L.A. She sighed sadly. Marcy pulled out her stuffed caterpillar like she used to sleep with when she was toddler. She closed her eyes slowly and went into deep sleep.
Our story continues where it might shows her older brother as a teenager. I might be busy for a while, but I promise that I will continue the story. It's been six months since I've published this story, but I didn't even get a review. Not a single comment. I know some of you are not fond of different crossover between a Disney Movie and a Disney Television Series, but I really wanted to try something new or something more. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next chapter.
