Chapter 46: Good Cop, Bad Cop

Meanwhile in downtown L.A. where the police department was running, in the interrogation room when Justin was sitting in a room with Gibbs. He was locked up last night after the police apprehended, until the next day when crooks kidnapped two siblings.

The commissioner has returned and start questioning Justin where to find this culprit, until he grows impatient when he slammed his fist down at the table, demanding an answer.

"TELL ME WHERE YOU'RE BOSS IS?!" Commissioner Gibbs yells.

"I'll never tell you!" Justin snaps.

"I'm getting tired of all this! You're such a pain in a neck! Where's your boss, boy? Or you go to prison for life!"

"Screw you!"

"Fine then. If that's the way you want, then so be it! Now don't you move until I settle this."

He left the room, leaving Justin behind sitting the chair. He locked the door behind him and exhaled breathing through his nose. How is he going to ask him further to get the information? Unless they're good people that they can help.

In the waiting room, Timon, Pumbaa, and Tatiana were sitting in the chairs along with Marcy's friends. All seven of them. The commissioner has already contact schools to have them excuse for questioning them and then he told his partner to contact their parents to pick them up

Most kids were worried about Marcy and Eddie. Anne knew that Marcy could be injured. Sasha is comforting Anne by rubbing her shoulder. Bailey is praying for Marcy and Eddie's safety. Ethan is devastated that his girlfriend is in danger. Darrel, Ivan, and KJ were waiting patiently while sitting in the chair.

As for the adults, Timon is praying if anything happens to his kids. Marcy was so special to him. There has never been any kind of trouble, but until now. Tatiana is comforting her boyfriend while praying. Pumbaa was fiddling his fingers nervously. And by then, Commissioner Gibbs approach, holding the folder as they got attention.

"I've contacted your parents. They'll be on their way to pick you kids up when we're done here. Now before we get started, there's something you should be aware of."

He hands over the file to Timon as he opens the file where it shows this man on a photo with criminal record. He raised his eyebrows and start to think of him as he realizes. Tatiana looked at the file that she read.

"Last night, we got call from a kid who was a friend of Marcy. He said that he apprehended this man who was expelled from school and I believe this man is the one who work alongside with his partner who stole those shoes." said Commissioner Gibbs.

"Hold on. You mean to tell me that this person was that same bully who bullies those girls and then I threaten him to back off? Eight years ago?" Timon asked raising his voice a bit.

"Not that I heard off, but this kid has grown up to be a criminal after he was expelled. Eight years ago, when his father got arrested for robbery, damaged the city, and black marketing. He was sent to prison for at least 40 years, but he died with a cancer in about three years later. When his son turns 17, he harasses some girls and start pushing kids too far, but the he got into fight with a 10 year old, the same kid that was got framed. The principle broke up the fight after that kid was almost beaten up painfully."

Timon made a wince look, but for Anne and Sasha when they started to remember what the event takes place. They remember when this boy who used to be friends with picking up a fight with that bully they've been pushed and they were a bit shocked that the boy was almost beaten up so painfully.

"What happen to this boy?" Tatiana asked.

"He was sent to the nurse office. Kid got lucky. And as for Justin, he ain't got lucky. He violates everything in this and then the principle decided to expelled him for good. As we apprehend him last night, we start questioning him, but he refuses. I believe this menace is working for something. Or someone." Commissioner Gibbs answered.

"How long have you been through?" Timon asked.

"For eight years, we've been searching to crack down this scumbag, who's responsible for the incident. You all may think it was all an accident from the crash, but when we investigate from a crime scene, it was all setup."

"What?"

"Think about it. We couldn't find the bodies. Either be captured or missing in action. FBI never lies. If anyone likes to go first, now it might be a good time to tell us about those kids."

They all shared their exchange look. They know what must be done.

First up is when Ethan goes first, sitting in another interrogation room. He's the first person that has witness and saw everything before he calls the cop. Commissioner Gibbs came in first with paper file and his notebook to write down the records.

"Alright, I'm gonna have to ask you questions and then you will answer to me. Are you ready?" Commissioner Gibbs asked.

"Yes." Ethan answered.

"Good. Now, how long have you been to the library before all this happen?"

"Well, I was on my to return some books during lunchbreak. I went to pick up another book to read to check in and when I got out, but then I heard screaming. I realized that my friends were captured. I tried to stop them, but they pushed me." Ethan explained.

"Were you picking up a fight?"

"Yes, but I'm not strong. My mom says that I should never pick up a fight."

"Why?"

"Because some bullies make fun of me, but at least one of my friends, Sasha who protects me from bullies."

"How long have you known about your friends?"

"Since we were kindergarten. We hang out together, but Marcy... (sigh) she's the only friend that I first met. I'm so worried about her."

"Don't worry, kid. We'll get your friends back. I promised."

Ethan nodded sadly. Up next where it shows Darrel and Ivan that they take turns after Ethan.

"So, you boys' hangout with those girls?" Commissioner Gibbs asked.

"Yes, sir. I met them first, and then Ivan came when were kids." Darrel answered.

"Uh huh. So, what do you do for your activity?"

"Well, I helped my dad fixing cars. We made a great team like father and son." Ivan answered.

"That sounds nice. And you, Darrel?"

"Marcy was my dungeon buddy. We were playing Creatures and Cavern from the other day. Then Sasha and I were fall in love each other." replied Darrel.

"Did she treat you well?"

"Well, mostly. But when we were having lunch, I let her slipped away when I get caught. I didn't pay the bill for food. Don't get me wrong, but I really like her. I do."

"Does your parents know about this?"

"They did. my dad lectured me a bit, but it was all in the past. I ended up working at Thai Go with my best friend, Anne. I have a dept to pay."

"That's understandable. Thank you for your information and we'll let you go. Dismissed."

Then they switch their turns when KJ is talking to the commissioner about how his life has been.

"And then we played video games together. Sometimes we played against each other, but sometimes we played online just for fun." said KJ.

"So, was Marcy your babysitter?" Commissioner Gibbs asked curiously.

"Actually, Anne was my babysitter while I was at her house. My parents go on their business trip to save enough money. Marcy came by to visit." KJ answered.

"Does your parents come home often?"

"They do, but I loved my parents. They always come home to check on me. They were worried when I was alone, but now that I have some friends and I'm not alone anymore."

The commissioner wrote down some notes about the boy. He slightly chuckled that the fact his parents do love him like all kids do. After take turns, Anne and Sasha goes next. Despite the fact that they're both childhood friends to Marcy since she first met.

"So, you girls used to play together with your friend when you grow up." Commissioner Gibbs guessed.

"Yes sir. Marcy's been our friend back when we were kindergarten. I met her first, and then Sasha came along." Anne answered.

"Mmm hmm. Then you were bullied by Justin right before she was adopted."

"Mostly. He always makes fun of us for being racist towards both Anne and Marcy." Sasha answered.

"Why is that?" Commissioner Gibbs asked.

"Marcy's parents are from Taiwan and my parents moved here from Thailand before I was born." Anne answered.

"And how can you describe that?"

"My parents work at the restaurant called Thai Go and when I got older, I volunteer to help out my parents. Couple of years later, one of my friend Darrel ended up working with me after he failed to pay his money after lunch."

"How did he not pay his bill?"

"It was my fault that I got him into this mess." Sasha admits quietly.

"How?"

"By stealing change and then I my mom grounded me when I got home."

"Wait, you stole money from a restaurant?" Commissioner Gibbs raised his eyebrows.

"It wasn't like that!" Sasha raised her lowered voice a bit.

"Then why did you steal?"

"It was complicated! Okay?"

"Look, stealing money isn't good for you. Do you want this to happen?"

"It's not my fault that my parents were divorce." Sasha muttered.

The room went silent for five seconds until Anne speaks up.

"She's been like this since we were kids. When we attend middle school, she made ditched school to do whatever she wants." said Anne.

"Anne, shut up!" Sasha gritted her voice quietly.

"Does your teacher know about this? Your parents?" Commissioner Gibbs asked.

"Yes, we were caught numerous times, but Mr. Berkowitz suggest that our school needs security footage in case neither of us tried to sneak out. As much as I don't like to get bored at school, but I don't want to leave her. I have to protect from getting herself injured." replied Anne sadly.

"You cared about your friend, huh? I know how that feel. When I was your age, I was so selfish because my father singed me up for self-defense class and then I realized that not only my father protects me, but he protects the city and its people."

Anne smiled softly a bit when she nodded. Sasha felt a bit ashamed for her misdeeds. Was she really selfish towards her friends? She hasn't felt that way in the first place. Sasha really wants to protect her friends more than anything, but there's only one person left that she forced them to end their friendship with the boy who got framed.

After some questionings, Marcy's friends were picked up by their parents. That makes Bailey, the only girl who came last for questions. She sat down at the table while Commissioner Gibbs writing down his notes.

"Alright, Bailey. Let's talk. How long have you been friends with Marcy?" Commissioner Gibbs asked.

"Since I was four years old when her mother came to the orphanage to drop her daughter off as a baby. She trusted my mother to watch over her until she comes back, but she never really came." Bailey answered softly.

"That's what all people heard. I heard about the car crash. I've seen records."

Bailey remembers everything from the past. She felt really bad at Marcy from the beginning.

"We were mourned. Marcy is the only one that I truly cared about. When she slept in my room, I cuddled her to support her, and then we became friends. We played together for long time, and when we go grow up..."

Bailey paused for a moment. Commissioner Gibbs looked at her softly.

"(sigh) Marcy ran away from home."

"That's what I heard, but continue." said Commissioner Gibbs.

"She ran away from home is because that bully, Justin is the reason why he mistreats her that way. I was so scared. My mother was scared too. We were afraid if anything happens to her, but when I heard a voice, I rush down there to see that Marcy is back, unharmed. I was so worried about her, but I'm glad that she's safe. If it weren't for those two, I'll never be able to see her again. And the next two days when they come back for adoption, this was never a goodbye, but we can still see each other again." Bailey finishes her sentence.

"She means a lot to you."

Bailey nodded as she smiles a bit, but she dropped her smile after what happened.

"We were like sisters. In a couple of years later, her older brother, Eddie shows up to see his sister again. I didn't know that he went missing, but now I realize that he's still alive. But it won't be long when they've been kidnapped."

Bailey paused when her small tears come out.

"Now, I'm started to worried if anything happens to... Oh, god. (sniff) I don't know what to do, but... but..."

Bailey can't take when she starts to cry. She was devastated if anything happens to friends. The commissioner pulls out his tissue package and gives it to her. He felt empathy at the poor girl.

"There, there. I know it sounds scary, but I need you to be brave. We'll find a way to get your friends back."

(sniff) I know, but I'll never get a chance to tell Marcy how much I loved her as a sister. And I'll never get a chance to tell Eddie that I... that I loved him." Bailey cried softly.

She's been sitting in a table for a while until they heard a knock. The commissioner opens the door where it turns out that Julia, who came here to pick up her daughter, but she saw her daughter crying before she looks up.

The adoptive mother could tell that she's in pain. She took step closer to her adoptive daughter, then give her a warm hug as her daughter whimpers to her mother's shoulder. Commissioner Gibbs felt really terrible about all this. One day when he catches those crooks, he's going to make them pay for their mistake.

An hour later, Timon, Pumbaa, and Tatiana were standing in front of the window, looking through to see Justin still sitting at the table. They were waiting for the commissioner after Bailey left with her mother to return home. The woman in disguise couldn't tell who this man is before she's asking her boyfriend.

"So, is this the bully that you scared him away?" Tatiana asked.

"Technically, I was threatening him just to leave those girls alone." Timon answered.

"The last thing I heard when he was sent to juvies, but it wasn't enough by the time he got back in a couple of years later." Pumbaa remarked.

"Did he ever harm to anyone, like your daughter?" Tatiana asked again.

"He was, but not anymore." Timon answered quietly.

Suddenly, Gibbs opens the door to see if he's ready.

"That's the last of her friends. Their parents already pick them up. Looks like you two are next." said Commissioner Gibbs.

"Wait, are we gonna do good cop and bad cop?" Timon asked curious.

"Ooh! I want to be bad cop!" Pumbaa dibs it.

"Sorry, Pumbaa. I called dibs on bad cop." Timon calls it first.

"Oh, boo." Pumbaa lowered his voice.

"Alright, when I unlocked the door, you're up." said Commissioner Gibbs before he left the room as they followed him while leaving Tatiana behind along with some coworkers.

Justin was sitting table until Gibbs opens the door by unlocking it.

"Hey, Justin. You got some visitors here."

Justin looked up and see who it is, but then his eyes went wide open as he recognizes the man in disguise who humiliates him.

"Hi, remember me?" Timon taunted.

"You?!" Justin shocked.

"That's right. The girl's father and her uncle. Now play nice, gentlemen while I go get some coffee." said Commissioner Gibbs before he closes the door.

Justin looks up at the two of them as he gulped.

"So, Justin, is it? I remember you when you bullied those kids and then couple of years later when I heard that my kids were kidnapped, I am so ticked off and I highly doubt that you have something to do with this! Did you?" said Timon sternly.

"Look, man. If this is about some stupid squirrel jokes when you threatened me?" Justin scoffs.

"Tell us who you work for and we'll let you go." said Pumbaa calmly.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Just then, Timon reach his arms to grip that man's shirt to lift him off from the chair, slammed him against the wall on his back while holding on with his grip. Timon looks very angry and he will not hesitate to put up a good punch. Justin was startled and looked frighten.

"My partner wants to go easy on you. He believes in your fairy tale, but something smells rotten to me." Timon angrily gritted his teeth.

"What smell?! I didn't smell anything!"

As of que, Timon angrily flips him over to the table until he slams him pretty hard. From the other side of the room, Tatiana and Gibbs were flinched that things are about to get messy. The commissioner noticed that they're onto something.

"Want to know what happens if you don't me where my babies are?" Timon asked very threatened.

"N-n-no?!"

"If you're not gonna tell me who hired you, then so help me I will not hesitate to squeeze the lemon right in your eye!"

"You're bluffing!"

Pumbaa put on his blue rubber glove and took the lemon out so that his hands will be lemon juice proof. Justin realized that he's not bluffing. Timon pinned him down so dearly while Pumbaa move the lemon close too before he attempts to squeeze the juice out.

"Well?" Timon asked.

"OKAY! OKAY! I'LL TALK! MY FATHER TURNED ME INTO A CRIMINAL BY THE TIME I GOT BACK FROM JUVIES AND HE INTRODUCE ME TO MY BOSS XUAN BEFORE HE DIED! I TOLD HIM ABOUT THE GIRL I BULLIED TO HIM AND HE SEND ME TO TRACK HER DOWN SO THAT I COULD GET MY REVENGE FOR WHAT SHE AND THAT BRAT I FRAMED WHO DID THIS TO ME!" Justin shout with fear.

"Wait, your boss sent you to track her? Why?!"

"He offered me everything that I couldn't refuse! Money!"

Timon and Pumbaa took a quick glance at each other before they continued to make him talk.

"What does this have to do with my daughter?" Timon asked sternly.

"Because she's the only smart girl there is! She will lead us to the lost city in the jungle. To find the most sacred treasures." Justin answered.

"Treasures? Wait, you mean the temple that we have been..." Pumbaa paused for a moment.

They started to realized what temple is he referring too, but they do know is that they have been to temple before. This could only mean one thing.

"Oh, crud." said Timon.

"That's all I know! I swear! I swear!" Justin whimpering.

Then without a warning, Timon move closer to that man's face. A criminal looked into the man in disguise fiery rage from his red eye.

"Then where are my kids?!" Timon hissed to Justin's face.

Back at the warehouse, Xuan is looking through the page. He made Marcy to make her talk about the legends. It takes less than an hour for a long conversation. He was getting one step close to the location. He checked it twice to make sure what's missing.

Marcy felt that she has betrayed, but Eddie knew that it wasn't her fault. He really wants to beat up that creep for messing with the wrong family. He can't take the risk if any of these goons are watching like vultures. For now, he as to wait until they left him and Marcy alone.

"So, you said that these stones aren't the only ones that made people transform into not just any animals, but turn themselves into mythical creatures. I thought it was all just a myth?" Xuan took a sip of his drink before he looked at Marcy.

"Well, not all myths are real." replied Marcy quietly.

"Well, you are the Wu's daughter. I'm not talking Dr. Wu, the guy who brought back dinosaurs. I'm talking about your father."

"You know my father?"

"Marcy, no." Eddie warned her.

"Hmm. No, not really. But my master knows." replied Xuan.

Eddie raises his eyebrows slowly.

"Who?" Eddie asked.

"As much as I love to answer, but you won't know how much you'll be in full of surprise when we head back to our lair." said Xuan.

"And where exactly?"

"Taipei."

"Wait, that's where our parents used to live before we moved out!"

Xuan turn his face at Eddie with his sinister grin.

"Exactly."

Back at the police department, all men and women put on their suit, gathered their weapons, and be ready for action. They have orders under the command of the commissioner, chief, sheriff, or any ranks of officers.

It appears that Justin has spilled the beans and finally revealed the location. Commissioner Gibbs has put on his bullet proof to prevent from injuries. He knew that there's gonna be a huge chaos by all means necessary. He walked to the meeting room where his troops are waiting for his order.

"Alright troops, listen up! We have found the location where they have taken the kids. Once we have reached the location, we need to be on stealth mode, so no one knows what hit 'em. Under no circumstances, you do not, I repeat, do not open fire until I give you the signal. Understood?"

"Sir, yes sir!" said The SWAP team.

"Good! Now let's move out!

His troops dismissed and walk straight to their truck. Two of police has escort Justin out from the department with his handcuffed as they approach the commissioner with his stern look.

"Looks like your crime days are done." said Commissioner Gibbs.

"You'll be sorry when he hears this." replied Justin.

"Tell that to the judge."

He snaps his finger to escort him to the police vehicle. The adults in disguise approach to the commission when he dropped his stern look.

"Don't worry, folks. Once we find the location, we'll find your children."

"I hope we're not too late." said Tatiana.

"Don't worry, Tatiana. We'll get them back." replied Pumbaa.

"Alright, let's try this again one last time." said Timon when he took his phone out to call his daughter.

"I wouldn't be so sure if they took their phones away." said Commissioner Gibbs as he suspected.

"Aw, come on! I got her a birthday presents!" Timon complained.

"If I were you, you choose carefully. If the phone still works, be careful."

He nodded before he made a phone call just to reach his daughter one last time.

Back to the warehouse, Xuan looks closer to the map where he can find the location. Eddie tries loosening the rope very quietly. Marcy sits still and there's nothing she can do, but praying.

Two thugs were pretty bored. One was fiddling with the knife while the other was on the lookout. Then suddenly, one of the thugs felt a vibrate. He took Marcy's phone out and answered the call.

"Hello?"

Xuan turns around that one of his goons is on the phone before the bald man hands over the phone.

"It's for you."

Xuan took the phone from his goon and start talking.

"Hello?" Xuan answered before he heard a voice.

"I don't know who you are."

Marcy and Eddie look up as they recognize that voice.

"Dad?" Marcy whispered.

"I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you that I don't have the money or whatever you want, but you're making a big mistake for kidnapping the wrong kids. If you let my son and daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you... and I will beat the crud out of you."

Xuan lightly chuckled. He could tell that this must be the adoptive dad after listening to that man's threatening's voice.

"You think it's clever to rescue your kids, well good luck with that."

He hangs up the phone. Both siblings couldn't believe that their adoptive father must have heard everything. He got the message. He's gonna come and rescue them. Xuan looked at the phone where it shows the photo of Marcy with her two closest friends in the background.

"Cute, but too bad you won't be needing this."

Marcy was shocked. She couldn't believe that this man is going to break her phone meaning that she will lose, not just some contacts or some games to play, but her precious memories. It means a lot to her. Eddie gritted his teeth so angrily that this man is insane.

Xuan pulled out the hammer from his desk after he set the phone down. When he raises it up, Marcy couldn't bear enough to watch and let him broke her phone. Once he smashed it down, but it felt clink.

Marcy opened her eyes slowly. Xuan blinked his eyes as he thought. He raised the hammer up and tries to break it again, but it's not very affected. Now she realizes that she totally forgot and sighed with relief.

"It usually works." Xuan muttered.

"I forgot that my phone was indestructible meaning that it cannot be broken." Marcy answered.

"What?"

"You know, shattered proof, water proof, bullet proof, fire proof, dust proof, works every time."

He set the hammer down raising his eyebrows. Then suddenly, one of his armed men entered as he approaches.

"Boss, we picked up the signature. The police force is heading their way."

Xuan looked surprised a bit.

"Keep them busy. And you, stay here." Xuan ordered.

One of them nodded before his boss left the office along with the other two. Marcy and Eddie looked at each other with their relief looks. They knew that not just the police, but their adoptive family are coming for them.

"Eddie! Did you hear that? They're going to save us!" Marcy whispered.

"Don't worry, I'm gonna get you out of here when I cut free." replied Eddie when whispered.

Just then, a thug felt a vibrate when he took out Eddie's phone to see what it is, but he scoffs when he put it away in his pocket. Eddie looked at him where this man put away his own phone. He started to figured out how to get his and his sisters' phone back.

"Hang in there, guys."

Looks like the police force are on their way. Which means that Timon, Pumbaa, and Tatiana are rescuing Marcy and Eddie from the clutches of Xuan. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
