Two days. It's been two days since Emma and Alison refused to talk to Jonah. To Jonah, it felt like years. And he didn't blame them. He was incompetent when it came to girls. No wonder that Kenzie was better than him when it came to that specific topic. Jonah was in his room, the sounds of Blink-182 filling the atmosphere when someone knocked on his door.
"Go away."
"Jonah, it's Mom."
He groans.
Great. Another lecture on girls. Someone fucking kill me now.
His mother, beautiful and graceful with her long black hair and sparkling blue eyes (no wonder his father married her), came inside his bedroom and frowns upon what she saw. A moping Jonah with crumpled papers all over the place and loud music that made the closest birds go deaf. She shakes her head and sighs.
"Jonah, I know you miss your friends, but this is unhealthy!"
"Mom, I don't need a fucking therapist right now, ok! I'm sorry, but..."
He was a loss of words.
His mom sat next to him and hugged him from the sides (since he was picky on people touching him).
"Jonah. Maybe you should talk to them."
"I tried calling; that failed. I wrote letters; that failed too. I'm at a loss, Mom."
"You're a smart boy, Jonah. You'll figure it out."
As his mom kissed his temple, got up, and left, Jonah sighed.
Easy for you to say, Mom. You had Dad eating out of the palm of your fucking hand.
Jonah tried calling Alison again. Luckily, she picked up on the first three rings.
"What do you want now, Jonah?"
"Al, can we just make up?"
"Wish we could. But, no."
"Why? You can't be THAT jealous. I know you long enough."
"I liked you MORE than her, Jonah! You met her only a week ago and she's some fucking princess!"
"Her parents were murderers,Al! Shit!"
Jonah went quiet. Shit. He wasn't supposed to say anything...!
"Oh my God...Jonah. How'd-"
"Al, I wasn't supposed to say a thing. Please keep it between us?"
Pause.
"Fine."
"Thanks. I really miss you."
"I miss you too..."
As things were looking up, someone was trying to reach Jonah.
"Al, I'll call you back, ok?"
"Sure. Jonah...?"
"Yea?"
"I'm sorry for everything."
"I'm sorry too. Bye, Allie."
"Bye. Heh."
Jonah hung up and re-answered the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey. It's me. Are you free?"
Crap. Emma.
"What's up, Emma?"
"I'm driving up to your place right now and I wanted to know...if we can talk things over."
Jonah breathed through his nose. Double shit.
"About?"
"I wanted to tell you I'm sorry...and I think I love you."
