A Moth To A Flame
Part 2: Wishes
He worried about her. Day after day she would risk her life for him, by now it was a reaction and she didn't even have to think about it, but he did. He feltgreat regret for what she was being forced to do by her job title. She had been shot before but it had never been fatal. He was constantly afraid that, thatwould change, it could happen on a moments notice. He wished that he could be brave enough to stand in front of that gun for her, longed to be able andwilling to do anything to save her, but that was impossible. He needed to keep his position and his life. He wanted to be selfish, but he had to avenge hisfallen comrade, the man had died gathering information for him after all. He hoped she could see and understand that but knew it was just a dream he madeup to console himself. He respected her for her bravery, loyalty and foolishness.
But he would forever wish that it could have been the other way around.
