My maid is sick
It was still raining...
"Ugh... I wonder if the other two are just as bad." Kyoka Jiro rolled over on her bed, trying to get some rest. She was sick after they spent all that time playing in the rain at the beach. "Those bastards." She coughed before looking for her phone on her bed, sending a text to the group chat that the three had.
"It was worth it..." Momo panted as she tried to sweat out her cold. She was just as bad as Jiro. After they spent time at the beach Momo had gone to her place to get some clean clothes but instead of going over to Midoriya's apartment like she usually would, she was too fatigued and fell asleep there, waking up sick. She looked for her phone on her bed once she heard the text chime.
"I wonder if they got sick?" Izuku mumbled to himself as he stared out the window of his classroom. He was the only one of the three, that was perfectly fine, having shown up to school while the other two were at home, resting up. Once he stepped into the classroom he couldn't help but to notice that both of them were absent.
He then received a text, pulling out his phone to check it.
Kyoka: U bastards got me sick
Yaomomo: Me too!
Izuku chuckled because Momo had also sent an emoji of a chibi-neko blowing its nose with a tissue.
Izuku: I'm feeling plus ultra!
Kyoka scoffed at that jerk's reply not aware of her own cheerful mode.
Kyoka: Wow dude... way to rub it in
Yaomomo: Your maid is going to get you sick!
Momo playfully schemed also sending another neko emoji with an angry face.
Izuku: I'll bring you guys medicine after school.
Kyoka: I need that herbal shit
And she followed it with a few fire emojis.
Yaomomo: Kyoka, no...
Izuku: Kyoka, YES!
Yaomomo: Master!?
Jiro was rolling around her bed, laughing her ass off, even forgetting that she was sick for a moment, she reread the texts to smirk at them but noticed something. Midoriya called her Kyoka, it was through text but he still did it, right? She assumed it was just because of the moment and joke but in truth didn't mind it and figured it was okay.
Kyoka: Izuku, your such a dummy
Yaomomo: My thoughts as well! How can Master be so smart yet so dense at the same time?
Izuku: Oi, I'm right here...
Kyoka: Yaomomo... youre just as bad as him
Yaomomo: Eeip!
Izuku and Kyoka had the same thought for a moment. 'She actually texted her surprise noise... it's too adorable!'
For the rest of the school day, Izuku, Momo, and Kyoka texted each other as he kept his sick neko-maids company. When the school day was over, Izuku began to get his things together, about to head out to pick up some medicine for them. As he was leaving the classroom he got a call. It was from Momo.
"Hello? Momo?" Izuku asked as he put the phone to his ear as he walked down the hall.
"Hey, Izuku, Dear." As she greeted him she had to clear her throat from some built-up phlegm. "Ugh, excuse me."
"N-No, you're fine, Momo, what is it? I was just about to go get you guys some medicine."
"Yes, that is why I was calling. I figured that you were serious about that." She coughed a bit and apologized before continuing. "I just wanted to call to let you know that you don't need to bring any to me. I already have some, although Kyoka might be in need of some. I'll be fine, so you don't have to come over, okay?"
"Huh? Are you sure Momo? I don't mind coming over, y-you know, to t-take care of you..."
"Eeip!" And she coughed from her loss of breath, due to understanding his implications. "I'd like that... But really Izuku I insist that you don't... If anything check up on Kyoka for me and I know she'd appreciate it as well, despite her attitude."
Izuku had a perplexed tone in his voice but agreed. "Alright Momo, I'll bring some medicine to Jiro and check up on her okay?"
"Thank you, Darling, I appreciate it, I really do."
"Yeah..."
"...Yes."
They said goodbye to each other as Izuku left the school. He figured he would do what he said he would, get Jiro some medicine. He stopped by a convenience store and bought some. As he was leaving the store, Izuku spotted a restaurant that specialized in soup.
"Ah, maybe I should bring Momo a warm one this time." He chuckled to himself, remembering the time Momo was sick at the dorms and he tried to bring her soup to feel better, the problem was that he was so shy and nervous by the time he built the nerve to take it to her, it was already cold. "I mean, I know she asked me not to, but I should still check on her right? I mean she's my girlfriend after all. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't make the effort to take care of her when she's sick. Although now that I think about it, I haven't been to her house since she became my girlfriend, but I mean it wouldn't be weird right? S-She's my girlfriend after all?!"
At this point, his maid would have stopped him from rambling but as he was alone, he just kept spewing his thoughts, with the people passing him by giving him weird looks, especially at the muttering SFX that came out of his mouth.
"I mean, it should be fine, right?"
Eventually, Izuku had made up his mind, having bought soup for his girlfriend, heading over to her place, to surprise her. He did always find her home of residence to be intimidating. As he arrived, he glanced to his left and then to his right, seeing how far the area of her home extended. He gulped as he stepped up to the gate intercom, pressing the button.
After a while, there was no response and the gate remained closed. He didn't know why, but a knot was building in his stomach. He tried again and again nothing happened. The knot tightened, before he attempted again, this time speaking into the intercom.
"H-Hello? This is Izuku Midoriya, I heard Momo was sick so I came to bring her some soup. Ah, this is the Yaoyorozu residence right?" He was sure he was at the right place, considering how huge Momo's home was but still couldn't feel that something was off. He was even starting to feel that there was a reason Momo and him only spent time together at his place and not hers.
Eventually, an undistinguishable voice replied to him, and he could only assume it was one of the housekeepers. "Yes, this is the Yaoyorozu estate, although they are not currently residing here."
"Eh? What are you talking about? I just saw Momo the other day."
It was quiet for a moment before there was a reply again, completely disregarding his statement. "The Yaoyorozu family has been, and will continue to, stay overseas, indefinitely."
"What? But I just saw Momo?!"
But this time there was no reply and the gates remained closed. The only sound that reached his ears were the fragile splash of droplets falling around him as the cold air stung his face with realization. He recalled the moment he brought up her parents the day she became his maid and how she completely snapped at him. He remembered yesterday at the beach and what she said before it started raining. He remembered her sleepy eyes and the time he initially called to hire a maid, Mandalay had even told him that Momo was in a similar situation as him, implying that she was living alone just as he was. He couldn't believe all the clues he ignored because of his own infatuation...
Alone in the rain, Izuku could only whisper it out with shadowed eyes of sorrow as he let the soup grow cold...
"Did... Did Momo's parents abandon her..?"
