Sometimes I think she knows, she has to, but she's always so damned hard to read. She'll slink past him the way she always does, pass me on the way to her station, and something in her eyes screams to me 'I know what you did to him last night', but then she acts so incredibly dense and it drives me mad. My gaze shifts and I stare longingly at his back, willing him to turn and look at me, knowing that he won't. I look away to avoid any unwanted attention, but then my gaze lights on her. Was that the shadow of a smile flitting across her insanely impassive face? Someday, maybe, I'll get up the courage to ask her what she knows. I can just see the ever grim Vulcan face light up as she says it without the hint of an inflection. "Mr. Reed, you are in love with the captain."
