Ok so I know I should get on and finish my other story, and I will eventually when I get inspiration. This was just something I thought of whilst watching the rain outside my window. I know its only short, but I had didn't have long to write it because I was revising.
Disclaimer: I do not own Mulder or Scully unfortunately they are the property of Chris Carter.
Summary: Mulder tells Scully he loves her. How does she react? One shot. I thought I would write something that isn't angst for a change.
Kisses In the rain
"I love you" he said finally.
She stopped walking and stood open mouthed. "What?" she asked.
"I love you" he mumbled now secretly cursing himself for saying anything.
That's when the rain started, it poured down from the blackened sky, soaking them.
Still they stood unmoving.
Mulder turned his back to Scully, his face blushing slightly now with embarrassment. Again he cursed himself for opening his mouth.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything" he said quietly. Then he started to walk away.
Scully was shocked, she knew she loved him, but had never expected him to say that he loved her. It was then that she noticed the rain, and the fact that he was walking away.
She moved forwards to catch up with him and from behind she clasped his hand. She felt that familiar feeling of electricity that seemed to run through her when his skin came into contact with hers.
He stopped walking and gradually turned around to face her.
The rain was getting heavier now, and they were both soaked, but neither of them seemed to mind.
He stared into her deep blue eyes, and she smiled warmly at him.
"I have 4 words for you" she said smiling, noticing how nervous he was.
They both stood there staring in each others eyes, listening to nothing but the steady falling of the rain. Her eyes reminded him of beautiful oceans, so deep and blue.
"What?" he said eventually, scared of what she might say next.
She smiled again at him.
"I love you too" she said, staring deeply into his hazel eyes.
Those were the only words he needed. A small smile appeared on his face and as he watched her smile again, his smile grew.
He watched as the rain drops fell upon her hair, turning it a darker shade of red. He didn't care how disheveled and wet she looked in the rain, to him she was always the most beautiful woman in the world.
He moved his arms around her, and began moving closer to her. There damp bodies closed together and he watched as the glistening rain drops fell down her face.
It was then that the sun began to shine. The darkness of the atmosphere began to disappear, all the tension had gone.
The light shone through and the last of the summer rain fell and left the earth refreshed and revitalized.
As the rain fell, he moved his lips over hers. They bothforgot about everything and fell into the kiss. He moved his hand through her damp hair and brought the kiss to a more passionate level. He had wanted to do this for sucha long time, and it was every bit as perfect as he had imagined kissing her.
As they became aware that the rain had stopped they moved apart.
Still staring into her eyes, he took her hand in his, and together they walked off down the street. Both knowing that they would remember that moment forever. It was their perfect moment.
