Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon, the concept, or its characters. They belong to Bandai, Toei Animation, Saban... maybe others as well. I'm merely using them for my own personal enjoyment. Please don't sue

Notes: I see Shuichon as being rather stubborn and reckless when she grows up. You have to factor in that she's the baby of the family and that Jenrya was trying to shelter her the whole time in the Digital World. Plus, Jenrya's rather stubborn himself, and he'll probably rub off a bit of her. XD;;

Small snippet from a Tamers saga-thing I'm planning. First thing I've written in a few weeks, and I'm not thrilled with it, but it came out decent. On a sidenote, thanks to Dark Qiviut for helping with a title.

This takes place six years after the end of Tamers, making Jenrya 16 and Shuichon 13.

Growing Up
By: Daystar-chan

("I'll try, at least. After all, the Digital World is dangerous, Jen-niichan.") Shuichon's safety means the world to him. But he knows he has to let her grow up sometime. (Jenrya, Shuichon)

"You can't keep me from having a life, 'niichan."

"I'm not trying to," Jenrya replied, sounding offended at the comment. "But you're my sister. I'm supposed to protect you. The Digital World is dangerous, Shuichon."

She scowled. "You act like I don't know that. I've been here before, remember? But I'm older now, Jen, and Lopmon's still my partner. He'll protect me."

Jenrya opened his mouth to argue, but then he felt a hand rest on his shoulder. A glance over his shoulder let him know that it belonged to Takato; the rest of the Tamers behind him looked a little worried, like they were afraid of how this conversation would end. They had seen him almost slap his sister once because she wouldn't listen to him; now they were both older, and Shuichon had a temper that made him want to strangle her instead of slap her.

But he couldn't. She was just a kid still, like he had been when he first came here. How many irrational and childish moments had he had back then?

"You're right," Jenrya finally admitted, earning a shocked expression from Shuichon. "And I'm sorry. I shouldn't keep treating you like you're still a little kid. Just... just promise me you'll be careful, alright?"

She shrugged, smiling a bit. "I'll try, at least. After all, the Digital World is dangerous, Jen-niichan."
