Group A and Group B met up at the entrance point to the dark dense forest that surrounded their home on the beach. They bid farewell to each other, and they headed in their various directions. At first, the members of Group A all headed the same way, having been instructed to follow the path together to the furthest point they had explored up to before today. They were all enjoying themselves, happy to be mapping out the newest parts of the colony they were making. The way in which they would be able to achieve this was by using the same techniques they had learnt in the maze, by running, or in this case walking it, and keeping your memory sharp on the route you had taken and as such be able to recollect it when making an actual map back at the colony on the beach. Of course, people like Minho and Thomas would be better at it due to having much more extensive practice of these techniques, but Frypan and Gally were confident in their abilities as well. Eventually they made it to the split point, with Vance and Jorge still having their conversations like two dads walking down the street.

They finally parted ways and Gally, Frypan and Vance left the other four and both teams headed into the jungle. Because there were no paths laid out, due to this area having not been explored before, they had to walk through the undergrowth 2 by 2 and single file at some points due to how thin it was. When walking 2 by 2, Minho and Thomas took point with Brenda and Jorge bringing up the rear. Thomas really wanted to be laughing and joking with Brenda. He wanted to be walking around with her, especially after what Jorge had told him earlier on. He would act on it when they got back later. Now was hardly the time to be exploring a potential relationship while travelling through unknown territory. Not that he didn't want to pursue a relationship with Brenda, he really wanted to. At this thought Thomas reached into his pockets and felt the mementos from Chuck, Newt and Teresa. He almost felt guilty trying to get with Brenda when what happened with Teresa was so fresh in the memory. It was almost like he could feel her with him.

'Thomas?!' Minho said, quite aggressively.

'Huh what?' Thomas asked, snapping out of his daydream.

'I asked you if we have any water' Minho replied. 'It's hotter than hell out here.'

Thomas pulled out the water cannister from his bag and handed it to Minho who took a swig of water before offering to the others. Brenda and Thomas both took sips, with Jorge declining as he was not yet thirsty. After their quick 5-minute refreshment break, they both continued further into the unknown territory. Nothing exciting had happened and no unusual creatures had made themselves known yet, it was almost as if it was just Thomas, the rest of his team and the jungle out here. It was peaceful, almost too peaceful. Thomas had spent the last few months and years of his life being suspicious of everything and as a result of this, didn't like just how conveniently peaceful and quiet the environment around him was. He was about to turn around and mention his suspicions to rest of the group, when from out of nowhere they both saw and heard a massive tree releasing itself from its trunk and starting to fall directly on top of them…
