These Little Games -- One

Disclaimer: I do not own any rights to Tsubasa Chronicle, or it's characters (that'd be CLAMP). I know, sad, isn't it?
"Kuro-rin!" Fai smiled at Kurogane's annoyed growl, wondering just what the ninja would do were he ever to call him by his unadulterated name. Probably die of shock, the wizard grinned wider, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He had an idea. "Oh, Kuro-pon!"

"Kurogane," the dark ninja glared in the wizard's direction, even more irritated when his correction was cheerfully ignored.

"Kuro-wan," the wizard's smile was definitely wicked now, but Kurogane bravely resisted the urge to flee.

Fai was up to no good, of that the ninja was sure, but he wasn't some scared little girl. He was the strongest in his country, able to defeat anyone who challenged either he or Tomoyo-hime; he felt he could certainly stand up to one measly wizard. Especially a wizard who refused to use his magic, no matter the inopportune situations it landed them in at times.

Fai mused aloud, "What would you give me to call you that."

By that, he of course meant "Kurogane."

"Eh?" the ninja blinked, but really he supposed he should have been expecting something like that. Fai always seemed to catch him off guard. It was as if the wizard purposely searched for the most absurd thing to say at any given time--and then said it.

The wizard batted his eyes, "I'm not immune to bribery, you know, Kuro-chi. So what would you give me? Chocolates? Candy?"

"You're starting to sound like that dimensional bitch now," Kurogane muttered, "her and her stupid 'White Day' crap, she so made that up."

"You're dodging the question," Fai smiled teasingly, "Or maybe you secretly really do like all those little names, Kuro-pippi."

"I am not 'Kuro-pippi.' I am Kurogane," the ninja refused to even look at him now, convinced that the wizard's only intent was to provoke him. He decided, as any grown man would, to ignore the bastard. I can't hear you.

"Would you," Kurogane jumped as Fai leaned down to whisper into his ear, "give me a kiss?"

Well, he definitely heard that.

Fai couldn't help but chuckle at the expression on Kurogane's face. Stunned was putting it mildly, the ninja managing an striking impression of a fish. The wizard suspected that Kurogane was fishing for a retort and failing miserably. He smiled broadly, and with none of his previous devilishness, deciding to take pity on the poor ninja.

"Oh, don't worry, Kuro-tan," Fai had decided that no was the best moment to leave Kurogane to stew in his thoughts.

That was the only way; Fai had, after much observation and thought, concluded; that he would ever get Kurogane to notice certain things. By leaving subtle, and sometimes not-so-subtle, hints and then leaving the ninja to puzzle it out on his own. It was amazing really, just how observant the ninja could be in battle, just how easily he could see through subtle lies, and just how damned blind the man was to things that were right in front of him.

"I was only joking." And now, Fai grinned as he exited, he just had to wait.

Wait. The wizard frowned; that seemed to be the only thing that he was good for anymore: waiting. He hoped it wouldn't take Kurogane too long to figure things out this particular time. He was getting so very tired of waiting on everyone and everything.

Author's Note: These two were a lot harder to write than I thought they woud be Xx; I hope you enjoyed this little bit, hopefully I'll be inspired to write another soon :3
