AN: I own nothing from Black Panther, except my OC and my additions.
Chapter 1: Prologue: The Story of Tyson Snow.
My name is Tyson Snow. I'm a young white man living in the secret African land of Wakanda. In 1992, I was visiting a small African village at Wakanda's border with my parents. But just then, there was an explosion at the border, and my parents were caught in the blast. I was knocked out when I got blown away by the force of the blast. The last thing I saw before I lost consciousness was a man dressed like a panther.
When I woke up, I found myself on a highly advanced lab table being looked over by 2 black doctors. They told me that I've been out for 3 days. When they finally discharged me, the female guards brought me to their king, T'Chaka. The same man who saved me after the explosion. As I thanked him for saving my life, when I asked if my parents were okay, King T'Chaka told me that they didn't make it. I was heartbroken that day. So, King T'Chaka decided to raise me in Wakanda. He introduced me to his family. His wife, Queen Ramonda, and his 2 children, T'Challa and Shuri.
Over the years, T'Chaka taught me everything I needed to know about Wakanda. About its history, about Vibranium, and about their great protector, the Black Panther. He even showed me around the entire city of Wakanda. I was amazed with how advanced the entire city and all of its technology was.
While growing up, I became good friends with T'Challa and Shuri. T'Challa told me about how he was looking forward to becoming king of Wakanda someday. Shuri told me about how much she was fascinated with Wakanda's science expertise with Vibranium. I became quite close friends with T'Challa and Shuri since then. Though I developed quite a connection with Shuri. I wasn't sure about it back then since we were kids, but I had a feeling it was soon to progress.
When I reached 13, King T'Chaka decided that it was time for me to learn to fight. I trained with some of the best warriors in the Wakanda army, learning how to move and fight like a true Wakanda warrior. When it came down to weapons training, I made a personal request to King T'Chaka for my choice of weapon. A pair of ninja Sais. T'Chaka was quite curious to see ninja weapons made from Vibranium. Shuri, having taken up an interest in science and development, volunteered to design and build the Sais for me. I was really grateful for her help. During my training, I was tutored by a young skilled woman who was destined to become a great warrior for the king's Dora Milaje, Okoye. We became like aunt and nephew to each other as she trained me.
As we reached 15, the king retired the mantle of Black Panther to T'Challa. I was the first outsider to bear witness to the consummation of the Heart-Shaped Herb, which what gives the Black Panther his strength. I watched as they buried T'Challa in the red sand. I grew nervous and worried for him. Shuri held my hand to calm me down. A few minutes later, he arose from the sand. T'Chaka comforted his son. T'Challa was now the Black Panther.
Over time, my feelings for Shuri had grown. One day, I went to Shuri and told her how I felt about her. She told me that she felt the same way about me since we were 13. We went to King T'Chaka and Queen Ramonda about our growing feelings. They told us that they knew about our feelings for quite some time. So, they hosted a betrothal ceremony for us, announcing that one day, Shuri and I will be married to each other. That was the happiest day for both our lives.
Later, we had a picnic in the fields outside the city to celebrate our betrothal. But suddenly, we were confronted by a white lion. One look at this beast, the way it was glaring at us, baring its blood-stained fangs, it was a blood drunk hunter that kills and eats for pleasure. The beast lunged for its attack. Shuri ran to get help, but I stood my ground and drew one of my Sais. Just as the lion pounced onto me, it collapsed dead on top of me. Shuri and the Dora Milaje returned to see the dead lion on top of me just as I pulled myself out from under it.
King T'Chaka held a ceremony for my killing of the white lion. Apparently, the beast had been lurking around the border for quite a few months, killing the livestock in the villages. For this, King T'Chaka awarded me with the nickname White Lion. And I had to admit, it kinda stuck.
And that was the last thing King T'Chaka had said to me before he and T'Challa left for Vienna for a UN conference. Not long after, word spread to Wakanda about the king's death due to a bombing. Shuri and Queen Ramonda were heartbroken when they heard the news. As was I.
My name is Tyson Snow, aka the White Lion, and this is my story.
