Hello again.

Here's the rest of the mission.

Don't own Fairy Tail or My Little Pony.

Strength in bonds

"Sister," Celestia glanced at Luna upon her speaking, "Summer is calling us on the lacrimas. I think there is more to this than we learned, for some reason."

"Honestly, I've been feeling similar, sister." Celestia walked with Luna to where the communication lacrimas were kept (after having been made and delivered properly), noting one was glowing somewhat. She picked it up with her magic. "Summer."

Summer's face appeared within. "Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, this one bears ill news."

The sisters shared a glance before Celestia said "Report."

"While this one isn't certain of any connection just yet, but apparently the mayor of Fillydelphia's house is near the reported incidents, and according to Cloudy Scales, his young are not in the best condition. Whoever is responsible could very well be doing something involving the mayor at the very least."

The Princesses narrowed their eyes. "And just why we weren't informed of this until now?"

"Solar Tail and Blue Sky share the theory that the letter they sent with this information was intercepted."

Neither were happy about being kept from helping out their subjects, and it showed.

Thankfully, Summer's next words placated them enough to focus again. "This one and Blue Sky are currently en route to speak to the reporter who investigated the incidents for anything further."

"Keep us informed, Summer. You did good." Celestia then got a little playful, "Expect a bonus 'reward' come the Gala. I certainly can't wait for you."

She laughed when she noticed it actually managed to make Summer's face flush noticeably before cutting it off, and it got worse when she noticed Luna's own virgin blush of realization.

She was so going to enjoy Gala night this time.

Summer quickly shook his head to compose himself, trying hard to drive the sudden images of both princesses now in his head. Just what did the Princesses see in him?

They had the pick of Equestria, being it's leaders and quite beautiful to boot, yet they seemed to have chosen him.

"Yeah, he's got a few lingering issues still around." Pinkie suddenly whispered, "Don't worry, though, that'll change in the next few chapters."

Blue Sky blinked in confusion, only for Summer's hoof to stop anything from happening. "Better to not question it. And she has Crash Magic, not anything that would explain it."

Blue Sky took a moment, then nodded, willing to accept that as an answer.

A little bit later, they came to an apartment, Blue Sky saying "We're here." just as the flew open and nearly smacked Summer in the face. "Should've mentioned that she can do that when caught up in a story. Sorry."

Thankfully, the pink-coat-with-pale-pink-mane-and-tail unicorn mare that had been responsible noticed them just then, smiling at the sight of Blue Sky. "Oh, hi honey! What brings you here?"

"Hello, love." he returned, then turned serious, "Can we talk inside, Candy?"

Noting the tone, Cotton Candy quickly ushered the pair in and locked the door. "I assume this is about my investigation."

"And a common factor in them." Summer answered, which Candy easily knew.

"Mayor Snow." Candy walked over to a wall with a map of the city. "His place is surrounded by the sites, his children White and Blue are ill, and the town council-ponies are rather...insistent, I drop this case."

"Wait, what?" Blue Sky asked, perplexed, as Summer growled lightly.

Candy glanced away in embarrassment. "Didn't want you caught up in it, what with them already bearing down on you and the guild."

She then spared them a determined glance. "However, that means that they know something, and don't want the truth to be found. I just need a proper lead."

Summer then thought about something. "Just what exactly is ailing White Snow and Blue Snow?"

Candy grew curious. "I...don't know. Think it might be involved somehow?"

"Can't rule it out, at least." Blue Sky added with a shrug, seeing where Summer's going. "But I kind of hope not, at least when it comes to you turning into a conspiracy theorist in place of a reporter."

Candy shuddered. "Yeah, I think I'll pass on that. I like not being paranoid about anything and everything, thank you. Except..."

Summer wisely looked away as the pair, and the conversation, started turning a little mushy. He gained a light blush as his mind turned to Twilight and the others, alongside the Princesses.

This is going to become a habit, isn't it?

A brisk walk later, and the three found themselves in front of the mayor's house, where Summer smelled something wrong.

He stopped and looked up at an open window of said house, which Sky noticed. "Summer?"

"Something wrong is in that room." Summer told him in a soft tone as Candy unknowingly kept the guard distracted, "Smells wrong."

Sky glanced back at Candy, then said "We'll try and keep their attention. If you can, at least get a sample."

Summer minutely nodded, only to blink when he noticed Dash fly up and peek into the room. Did she hear?

A familiar tensing of her body told him that she did.

Quickly moving, he climbed up and pulled her away, managing to keep hidden. "Charging in won't help anything, Dash."

Dash stared him down, but he wasn't budging on the subject. Eventually, she just stuck with "The maid's giving pegasi medicine and tea to a unicorn. Speaking from experience when I say that there are ones that are exclusive to a pony kind for a reason."

Summer took a moment, then said "Get the princesses. This will need them directly."

He then surprised her with an impulsively kiss on the lips, as he wasn't normally than spontaneous. However, it did the trick in getting her focused on moving more than trying to argue.

As she left, he returned to Sky and Candy, who were just about to leave the guard after being turned away. "According to Dash, the medicine their using is for pegasi, not unicorns."

Both ponies hoof-palmed at that, just as an Earth Pony wearing clearly rich clothing strutted up angrily. "What did we tell you, Candy?! L-!"

"You don't have any ground to stand on anymore, unless you can give a good reason for why the mayor's kids are being kept sick to the Princesses." Summer growled, heating up.

No one noticed Candy smirk and her horn light up faintly, but they certainly noticed the effect when the rich pony blurted out "Those foalish mares think those crystals of yours are useful for anything except selling to dr-"

He stopped himself, but the damage was done.

"Good luck explaining that to them, idiot." Candy said just as Summer slammed a flaming hoof down on the pony's head, knocking him out and cratering the ground some, "Now to-"

Unfortunately, the previous guards pointed their weapons at the three, with a number of others showing up and surrounding them.

Now, Summer was angry. "You dare betray the Princesses?!"

His magic flaring in response did more to deter the surrounding ponies, though they still flinch in clear guilt. One of them even said "Sorry, but we don't have a ch-"

Summer's magic started forming into...something...as his growling got louder, cutting the speaker off. It was to the point of sweltering from the heat waves he was giving off, making Sky and Candy back away from him.

"Give me a good reason not to take you down." Summer near roared out, though his answer calmed him down, coming from a source that had just teleported in.

"How about leaving this to us?"

Celestia and Luna had just arrived with a garrison, including Dash, Twilight, and the main members of Fairy Tail and Cloudy Scales.

Summer, Sky, and Candy bowed as the Princesses stepped forward, displeasure clear on their faces.

The armed ponies were just lucky the two noticed their frightened yet relieved expressions.

"It's always a sad thing to find ponies so willing to cause problems for others."

Summer didn't glance as Luna said that, watching as the former council-ponies were taken away for treason, robbery, extortion, blackmail, and filly/colt endangerment.

"But now with the culprits finished, the hidden pathway closed, and the young siblings recovering, all that is left is making sure the dragons understand that the 'trade' is over." Luna then looked directly at him, "That being said, while we do appreciate your concern, it is not your job to defend our honor."

Summer flinched and started to curl in, memories surfacing, until Luna nuzzled him softly. "Still flattering to know you are so quick to do so, however."

That got Summer to blush instead, which wasn't helped by Twilight, Dash, and the others coming over and joining in somewhat, much to the amusement of Blue Sky, Cotton Candy, and Solar Tail.

Admittedly, a bit of a copout, but bare in mind that My Little Pony is tame compared to Fairy Tail, so problems like this whole mission would be rather low level as a result. The whole idea was to show that peace can find people quite willing to exploit it for their own ends.

Although, somewhat, a few issues in my personal life drew some of my drive to write, so I was feeling lackluster. Should be better come next chapter.

If you don't mind, please R&R.
