Shortest Short Stories Ever Series: Tales From Behind the Veil
By Spectra16
A/N: This is not a one shot. . . Sorta. This will not be the first chapter, because I have to start somewhere. This chappie won't be funny, but the next ones will. I', just trying to set the scene with this. Like my other stories in the "Shortest Short Stories Ever Series", each chapter is a mini story in itself. Except for this chapter. This is the beginning.
Disclaimer: After looking on Wikipedia for FanFiction DOT NET, I discovered why we write disclaimers in the first place. I mean, seriously, none of us really need to, because we're not making money of it this. But oh well. Go check it out. And enjoi.

Chapter One: Only A Flesh Wound
Sirius opened his eyes to the blinding surrounding that presented themselves. The sensation he felt was warm, and as if he was laying on the ground. He opened and closed his hands, and suddenly sat up. There was nothing but white around him. He squinted his eyes and felt a warm hand on his shoulder. He turned around rigidly to see James Potter starring him in the face.
"Hey," James smiled. Sirius blinked dumbly and his mouth hung open.
"Am I dead?" He asked sardonically. James nodded a little. Sirius was in complete disbelief. After a helluva lot of explaining, Sirius finally excepted that he was dead, and that James was there with him, and that 42 really was the answer to life, and that the veil was a mysterious beast, one of which was not easily exited, or extinguished. Sirius dug his fingers in his hair.
"What about Harry? He . . He has no one now," Sirius was near tears. James smiled again, as if he was smiling at a little kid.
"He'll be fine, Sirius. But in the meantime, you and I can do something about it," James wore the same devious smile he had years before, when they were more commonly known as the Marauders. Sirius felt fuzzy all of a sudden.
"And what would that be?"
"We can both go back as spirits. We can physically do things, but unlike ghosts, we can't communicate with living creatures. It's much more complicated. I'll tell you the loopholes on our way," James suddenly started walking. Sirius honestly couldn't tell where one way ended or began, but he followed James, half-hoping this wasn't a hallucination, half-hoping this was.
