As a FYI this chapter references refeeding syndrome. Also don't take the whole medical stuff to seriously. It's probably very unrealistic so again don't take it to seriously. If you are wondering how ancient Agrabah has such advanced medical equipment honestly I don't have a clear answer. Lets just say that Genie had a role in it.

It was 8 in the morning when Aladdin walked into the room. He had finally calmed down and processed what he did to Jasmine. When it hit him it broke his heart. He seriously couldn't believe what he had said. Of course he had wished they met, she was the one who changed his life for the better.

Aladdin walked up to Jasmine and called her name.

"Hey babe wake up,"

Jasmine didn't respond. Thinking she didn't hear him he called her name louder and shook her more.

"Jasmine!"

When she didn't even moan or move slightly Aladdin started to get worried. He examined her and noticed that she wasn breathing. Scared he felt her body and it was slightly cold.

"Jasmine? Jasmine!" he called frantically

"JASMINE WAKE UP!" he screamed.

When she didn't wake up or show any sign of waking up Aladdin freaked out. She must have just been in a deep sleep, or even worse.

"JASMINE!" he cried.

"My boy, what's wrong?" the sultan asked, walking in.

"She's not- not waking up. Go get the doctor," Aladdin ordered him.

Instead the sultan ran his way over and looked at his daughter. She looked peaceful yet in pain. The sultan held his daughter's cold hand and cried. He just couldn't accept that his daughter was gone. Noticing that the Sultan was in a frantic state and would most likely not get the doctor, Aladdin decided to get him.

Next thing everyone else knew, an ambulance and medical team was surrounding the palace within a few minutes. Abu ran up to Aladdin's foot and hugged it. Genie tried to get more information but they just shoved him aside and climbed the stairs to Jasmine. Once they were there the team had to forcefully remove the Sultan from his unconscious daughter and began to cut away her nightgown. For a second it felt like the world stopped when her whole skinny nude body was shown. That was when the Sultan couldn't handle it anymore and ran out of the room in tears. After the shock wore off the Aladdin watched as the team stuck needles and tubes into the princess. When he watched the doctor shove a feeding tube down her and a massive guilt washed over him. This shouldn't have happened. If he would have just been a supportive husband and not let his anger get the best of him he probaly wouldn't have said those things to her. And she probaly wouldn't have given up so easily.

"We are going to get her on the stretcher. Is everyone ready?" The doctor asked.

Next thing Aladdin knew he was watching the team lift up the nude princess and placed her on a stretcher. They put a warm blanket over her body for her privacy and began to take her out of the room. Aladdin got a quick look at her face, she looked in pain. When they left he just couldn't move. He felt extremely guilty and just upset that this had happened. He listened as the staff gossiped and his friends talked, but he couldn't go out there. He just couldn't find the courage.

"Aladdin what's going on?" Iago asked, flying toward him.

"She wouldn't wake up this morning and she wasn't breathing,"

"Is she going to be ok?" Iago asked, worried.

Aladdin let out a large sigh and motioned for the bird to sit next to him.

"Honestly I don't know. She's getting worse. Iago if I'm going to be honest… I don't think…"

"Aladdin?"

"I don't know… she might- might not-"

"Be with us anymore?" Iago asked.

Aladdin didn't respond and just laid his head down. That's when Iago lost it and cried out loud. He just couldn't imagine life without his best friend. Aladdin's sadness was pushed aside when he saw Iago crying. It was really the first time he had ever seen Iago crying. Iago then flung himself into Aladdin's chest and cried into it.

"I don't want her to go!" Iago cried.

Aladdin stroked the bird's feathers and just listened to the bird cry. Aladdin looked at the now empty bed. For the first time the palace felt incomplete. Without Jasmine it just didn't feel the same. He just couldn't describe it, it wasn't like it was more quiet. She barely spoke a word days leading up. Genie floating into the room with Carpet floating behind.

"Are you guys ready to go?" Genie asked.

"We kinda have to," Aladdin said, getting himself up.

"Um… I think I'll stay here," Iago asked, removing himself from Aladdin's grasp.

"Ok Iago if you want, just know you can visit her anytime," Aladdin told him as he flew out of the room.

"What's up with him?" Genie asked.

"I'll tell you later, go get the Sultan,"

Aladdin and the Sultan got onto Carpet and soon they were off to the hospital. It was a short 5 minute ride, but it felt much longer. Abu decided to stay home and comfort Iago. Genie volunteered to look after the palace and Rajah just didn't respond when they asked him.

"Do you think she'll make it?"

"Honestly I don't know,"

As Carpet flew down in front of the hospital the two could hear the gossip from the citizens. A crowd had formed around the hospital. Staff was having to shove people back.

"Everyone, everyone please, my daughter is ok. She just wasn't waking up this morning,"

Aladdin's face palmed when he heard the Sultan tell what happened this morning. The people began to shout and scream wanting answers.

"Why did this happen?"

"Where is the princess!"

"Are we going to lose our princess?"

Before the Sultan could answer Aladdin had pushed him into the hospital doors. Both were told to sit down for a few minutes since the princess wasn't done yet. The minutes felt like an eternity. All Aladdin wished was that when he walked in she would be at least breathing.

"Jasmine?" The nurse asked.

"That would be us," Aladdin said, getting up.

The two were brought into the hallway and led to the princess room. When the two walked into the room they saw Jasmine in a patient nightgown hooked up to multiple machines. From what Aladdin could infer he saw a breathing machine, a feeding tube, a urine collector, and some Iv's. A giant sigh of relief could be heard when he noticed that she was breathing normally now. However the two couldn't stay for long as the doctor pulled them into a separate room.

There he talked about her condition, the mediation and machines she was one, and some things known as Anorexia and Bulimia. Something Aladdin had never heard of. The doctor informed the two of what the two disorders were and how it had affected her. Aladdin would have to read more on it later since to him the doctor was talking a forien language.

"Why is she unconscious? She was just fine last night," Aladdin interrupted.

"Our team suggests that she is just too weak to keep going so in her sleep she entered a coma,"

"She was just fine? I overheard iago talking to Abu that she was on the verge of passing out," The sultan asked Aladdin.

"Well I mean she was up and responding," he told him, ignoring the second part.

For the next few hours the doctor talked about their options and her odds. Though Aladdin wasn't paying much attention since he was every once in a while peering over to Jasmine.

"My boy… what are we going to do?" The sultan asked.

"I'm sorry what… I was distracted,"

"What should we do?"

"I think we should just keep her where she is for now, until that is when she wakes up then we'll discuss further options," Aladdin suggested.

Noticing that there was nothing else to say the Doctor took in a deep breath, "Should we go see-"

"Yes please," Aladdin said, getting up from the chair.

The two were led back to Jasmine's room. Aladdin saw to his disappointment that nothing had changed. She was still lifeless as ever.

"I'll leave you to it. Just make sure to touch no medical equipment," he told them before leaving the room.

The two were left to just stare at the unconscious princess. The more Aladdin looked the more needs he noticed. He just didn't think it could go this far. Last week Jasmine had started to show signs of getting better. She seemed to be getting up early and eating more. Though all that meant nothing since now she was on her death- no… no he couldn't think like that. He didn't know how much time had passed but he was brought out of his state when the sultan sat up and began to walk out of the room.

"I should be getting back. Take as much time as you need," he said. Aladdin could hear the pain in his voice. It was clear he was hiding something.

"Do you know when she'll wake up?" Aladdin asked.

"I don't know. I just hope it's soon," he said walking out.

Aladdin overcome with emotion let out a sob. He had grown up with the idea that he had to be tough and he can't cry. But he ignored it, letting his guard down. This was an exception. Aladdin with tears in his eyes got up from the chair and leaned over Jasmine. He grabbed her right arm and lifted it gently. He kissed it and then set it down. Aladdin pulled up a chair and just sat next to her, holding her hand. Then for the first time he prayed. He prayed to Allah for forgiveness and to heal her. The more he looked at her the more guilt washed over him. He recalled the times that he yelled at her, shoved food down her, and ran away from her. He hated the feeling that the last thing she would remember of him was him telling her that he wished they had never met. Aladdin looked at her hair which was tied up in a long braid and her pale skin. It hurt to see her like this. It really did. As Aladdin watched her more and more memories filled his mind of happy moments they shared. A time where she could eat, walk, and was overall living.

Everything was perfect. Aladdin had a home , a family, but most of all he had Jasmine. He had the one person in his life that mattered the most. She gave him everything. A home, love, and friends. WIthout her he would have never accepted the deal that Jafar had given him. Without her his life would have never changed. He loved her and he knew she loved him back. She was patient with him when no one else was. She listened to him when no one else would. But most of all she saw him as a person and not a street rat. She was able to see past his flawed past and saw a great king when no one would. He loved the fact that she would stand up for him against people who saw him as nothing less than a nuisance.

To him Jasmine at times felt more like a mother figure than his fiance. She gave him unconditional love at times and she would tell him things that would always stick with him. She filled the gap in his motherless heart that he thought would never be fixed. He had lost his mother when he was very young. The thought of losing Jasmine because she didn't eat and became too sick reminded him just like how his mother died. The thought of the same thing happening just wouldn't stop lingering in his mind. Of course he didn't mean to say all those things. He really didn't. He couldn't imagine life without Jasmine. It just wouldn't be the same. There would be no home or love. But what did it matter, she probably fell out of love with him. If Jasmine acted like he did to her he would have. But something in his heart told him that she still loved him. And he knew that he loved her just as much. For she would take time out of her day to teach him about ruling even though she was always busey. She was patient and took time to teach him when others got mad at him for not knowing simple math. But somehow everything seemed to change.

He didn't understand what went wrong but one day everything seemed to change life. One day he had walked past a bathroom and caught Jasmine vomiting. Scared he ran over to her and tried to comfort her only for her to gasp and shove him away. When she looked up she had the most terrified expression and quickly told him that she had a stomach flu. Aladdin's worriedness soon turned to confusion and he asked her why she didn't tell him sooner. Though she didn't answer and then just walked out which only left him with more questions than answers. The rest of the day he rarely saw her and when he did she wouldn't speak to him. He was at first worried about the whole situation but the following week he had seemed to forget about it. For one he had a lot of other things to worry about than a simple stomach flu and second Jasmine seemed to have recovered from it.

However as the more time went on it seemed that Jasmine had begun to separate herself from him and the rest of her family. She wouldn't want to eat with everyone else and even requested that she slept by herself for a few nights. He also didn't understand why she would wear long sleeves and coats but he didn't want to ask her. Maybe it was just because she was cold. One day when the two were in their lessons he had mentioned that her cheeks seemed swollen as a small observation but she seemed to have taken it personally since she soon removed herself from the lesson and walked off. He had tried to talk to the Sultan about Jasmine's behavior but he said he hadn't noticed anything. After talking to the others he started to get the idea that nothing was wrong and she was just acting weird. However that idea was proven wrong when he walked into her one day and was taken aback at what he saw.

Aladdin without thinking let out a which caused Jasmine to turn around. There he was by a skinny malnourished Jasmine. She was naked which meant he was able to see most of her ribs, her hip bone, cheekbones, among others. When had she lost this much weight and what happened to cause it? Quickly he walked up to her and without thinking he grabbed her wrist and was shocked at how boney they were. He looked into her teary eyes and just stared at her. They made eye contact for a whole minute before she broke it and tried to run away. But she held a firm grip on her and tried to pull her more toward her.

"Get off!" she screamed tearfully.

"Jasmine, wait!"

"NO!" she screamed. Jasmine was able to wriggle free from his grasp and tried to pull away. But her long hair flowed behind her when she turned away and Aladdin was able to grab some. However they two watched in horror as the hair easily pulled away from her scalp. Jasmine stood there frozen. She looked at the hair for the longest time, Jasmine felt over her scalp. When she didn't feel anything different she booked it to the closet and slammed the door. Aladdin was left in a state of shock. Aladdin looked at the hair and then the closet. Aladdin still worried, dropped the clump of hair and walked over to the closet.

Aladdin heard muffled cries from inside the closet. It was obvious that she was trying to hide it, but it just wasn't enough.

"Jasmine, please talk to me. What's going on? What happened?"

"No- nothing is…"

"Jas you've lost like 20 pounds,"

"It was a stomach flu and I still have it,"

"A stomach flu shouldn't make you lose 20 pounds,"

"Well this one did,"

"Jasmine, something else is going on. Please tell me,"

"No!"

"Jasmine please-"

"No go away! I just want to be alone!" She cried.

Aladdin began to hear more cries from inside the closet making him believe that he had walked into something that he shouldn't have.

"Ok if you want me to leave you alone I will. But I need to know the truth soon Jasmine,"

"Ok I'll try. This is between us right?"

"I can't promise that,"

Just then Jasmine opened the door and stepped out, now with a blanket wrapped around her.

"Aladdin no- no- no! You can't tell anyone else about this,"

"But you've lost a lot of weight and you've seemed off this whole week. This is serious Jasmine you could be sick,"

"I'm not sick-"

"You just said you have the stomach flu,"

"Well uh-"

"So Jasmine what is it?"

"IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" she screamed before she turned her back and ran back into the closet.

Aladdin, angry at Jasmine for yelling at him, was about to storm into the closet before something stopped him. He listened into the muffled cries and breathed in. If he stormed in on her nothing would change. And he probably already had hurt her feelings enough. So he decided to leave it and try to talk about it later.

For the next few days it seemed like Jasmine had grown even more distant from her family. He rarely saw Jasmine and when he did she would just ignore him and walk away. Jasmine had stopped doing lessons with him and seemed to put all of her work on hold. Eventually he had learned that if he caught her in a small corner he was able to get small information for Jasmine. But it would just end up with her crying. He didn't understand. Why wouldn't she tell him what was wrong. Did she not trust him? Was she scared of him?

One day Aladdin was confronted by a handmaiden and was taken to the guest bedroom away from people. Confused, he began to ask questions but what the maid said shook him. She had told him that during her night shift she heard agonizing screams from the princesses room.

"Wait what?"

"There's more. Because since the princess has refused to eat with you guys I've been the one to take food to her,"

"And…"

"And when I come in later none of the food had even been touched,"

Aladdin didn't know what to think. How long has she gone without food? He knew that he was able to but he was used to the feeling ever since childhood. It was obvious that Jasmine wasn't able to.

"Is there anything else I should know?"

"Anytime the food is touched I always find vomit in the toilet later,"

"So nothing is staying down in her is it?"

"I don't believe so,"

"Ok… I'll take note of that,"

"I just wanted to inform you about the situation. If you want to you can go on with your day,"

"Thanks for that information. I hope you have a great rest of your day."

With that the two took separate ways and went on with their days. Throughout the day Aladdin would go to each member of his family and talk about what he had discovered. Genie was surprised but told him to try to worry so much since Jasmine is "strong" and she could do it. Abu, Carpet, and Rajah couldn't say anything but he made the inference that they were sad. Rajah just walked away and laid down. Abu didn't squeak and just did the same, probably not wanting to hear anything anymore. And Carpet just shook his tassels and floated away. When he tells Iago he seemed concerned but not too worried. But the Sultan on the other hand was a whole different story.

When he was told the news he was all worried and wanted to see her immediately even though Aladdin told him that she wanted to be alone. He could see that the Sultan was freaking out and could tell that he really cared about his daughter. Maybe he was more worried than himself even though he wasn't the one to walk into her naked. After calming the Sultan down he tried to explain that everything was going to be ok but he just wouldn't listen.

"She is sick, my boy. You said she lost 20 pounds?"

"Well yes-"

"Then we must get her to a doctor-"

"What no! We can't! Or I mean I can't,"

"What do you mean?"

"I told Jasmine that I wouldn't tell anyone about this. And if she finds out I told you she will be so mad at me,"

"My boy this is way more important than just a simple promise. Her life could be in danger,"

"She said it was just a simple stomach flu,"

"But it must be something more. I'll schedule a appointment now,"

"Wait-"

"We can't wait. Jasmine is in danger," he said before walking out of the room. Aladdin stood there. He was frozen. If Jasmine figured out that Aladdin had told her father she would probably hate him till the end of time. He didn't think the Sultan would react like this, no one else did. His thoughts were interrupted by a deafening scream. As he listened in he could make out that it was between Jasmine and her father. From what he could infer her father had walked in on her and now who knows what was going to happen next. Aladdin, defeated, slumped down into the chair and listened to the deafening cries of Jasmine.

"NO NO NO NO!" Jasmine screamed.

Jasmine had been emitted to the hospital in the middle of the night yet again due to stomach pains and shortness of breath. The princess was now on a hospital bed with multiple Ivs and tubes in her. Now comes the most terrible part. Aladdin held onto Jasmine's arm as she tried to pull away. Aladdin braced himself for the screams that would endure. The Sultan held onto her other arm, a nurse held her head, and another held her legs. Then the doctor shoved the tube. Aladdin closed his eyes and held down her arm. Jasmine let out blood curdling screams as the plastic was shoved down her esophagus.

After it was done Jasmine had removed herself from the nurses and curled up in a ball. She began to ball out loud and scream. The pain she was experiencing was unbearable even with the pain meds they gave her. For the next few minutes Jasmine would cry and weep until the pain went away. When it did faintly she looked up to see Aladdin staring at her worriedly. Jasmine wiped her teary eyes and just looked at him.

"Aladdin… What did I do wrong now?" she croaked.

"Well you aren't in trouble. You were just having a hard time with pain ok. We just need to make sure you don't pass out or anything,"

"But why do I need the tube?" she asked.

"Well it's because we can't get you to eat. And I think the doctors told us that you won't be able to eat a lot of food for now,"

"Why? I just wanna gain weight and get better,"

"I know but it takes more than that,"

"But it hurts to wait…"

"Shh I know it is hard-"

"And it hurts!" Jasmine cried. Jasmine was sitting up now crossed legged. She was now looking out of the window at the city below.

"What do you think people think of me?"

"I think they would want you to get better. No matter how long it takes,"

"I think they think I'm a failure at life and I should have done more,"

"Hey don't say that. I don't think they think that at all,"

"I take it you've been out and listened to all the negativity people spread about me,"

"Well not exactly. Why…? Have you-"

"No of course not! I can't even walk for crying out loud. I just think that they would think that,"

"Well you should stop thinking of that-"

"I CAN'T! THE CONSTANT FEELING OF NOT BEING ENOUGH AND I NEED TO DO MORE CAUSED ME TO START THIS WHOLE MESS!"

"Ok calm down, what do you mean by not being enough started all of this?"

"I- I- I just constantly thought that I needed to do more and that the more I did the more things I guess I deserved. When I would see people who worked hard and got barley anything it made me think that I didn't deserve anything I had,"

"Go on,"

"And I guess I was tired of people saying all the time that, you're so lucky, and wished that people could see that there's more than being a princess,"

"Well Jasmine just because you're a princess doesn't mean you should stop caring about yourself in order to satisfy your people,"

"Well I grew up thinking that the people come before me. So as long as their happy than I can wait,"

"I don't think your body can. Look at yourself Jasmine. You need to start taking care of yourself before you can take care of them,"

"But I have to work-"

"But you've done enough. You've done more in a week than your father could in 3,"

"I know…"

"You don't need to do more to feel like you deserve anything. Doing work doesn't define your worth,"

"But you worked so hard to get food and all I did was wake up,"

"That might be true but Jas… Jas the point is is that you need to stop thinking of work and just take care of yourself,"

"But I can't Aladdin. I've gotten to the point I feel bedridden at times,"

"Well… maybe if you ate every once in a while you would feel better. And you wouldn't have a tube in you,"

"It's not my fault whenever I do I throw up after,"

"Well maybe your not eating the rights food,"

"No it's not! It's because you guys always make me eat so much of it,"

"Jas you shouldn't be blaming other people for the reason you're in here. Your in here because you wouldn't take care of yourself,"

"Noooo…" she mumbled.

"I know you don't like to hear it,"

"I just wanna go home,"

"So do I."

"No,"

"Shhh… when was the last time you showered?"

"Why do you care?"

"Because you smell like a wild jackal," he chuckled, moving a piece of her hair.

Jasmine closed her eyes and laid her head down on Aladdin's chest. Aladdin watched her chest and just thought about the better times. The times when he and she would go off on adventures and secret Carpet rides. One time the two had snuck and were stargazing above the clouds in the stars. He even recalled when Jasmine told him that she wished for him and her to have a long happy life. If only… Aladdin no matter how hard he thought the thought of him losing Jasmine forever still remained. Aladdin felt Jasmine go limp on his chest. He kissed her one last time before leaving the hospital. Hoping that this would be the last time that she would be here.
