"Four lasses to boss me around!" Pippin grumbled, exasperated. "Four!" With a sharp tug on his scarf, the entire coat rack came tumbling with a crash Pippin knew was much too loud to be ignored.

"Peregrin Took! What --," Pippin's mother shouted.

"Pimmie made me get my scarf before I went out to play and --," It was too late. The lasses were off, clucking like hens in a barnyard.

By the time Pippin's sisters and mother were finished fussing over him, Pearl had decided that it was, "really to late to go out and play, Pip."

Pippin sighed. "Lasses."
