Big things come in small packages, as seen in:
#48: Humiliation By Ninjago Legos
It would appear our three heroes were safe for the time-being.
Browsing a small toy store in the middle of an unnamed city, Team Rocket were taking time out of their day to humor James's trip down memory lane.
"You know, I find it very odd that the first place we end up after escaping numerous danger zones is a toy shop. Why are we here again?" Meowth asks.
"Apparently, this toy store was a favorite place of James when he was a child. Seeing as we were passing by here on our way to find another place of asylum, he insisted we stop by for a while," Jessie explains, a bit annoyed at the detour, yet at the same time relieved that they were in a harmless place for once.
James meanwhile was shifting all over the store like a child, fawning and reminiscing over the toys and games he grew up with. Board games, action figures, bicycles, and more were all over the neat little store.
While they let James run around the place all giddy-like, Jessie and Meowth walk by the front counter, where a tiny Lego figure of an old Chinese martial arts master stood looking at them. He had a long white beard and wore a white robe.
"Looking for anything in particular, Jessie and Meowth?" the little Lego man says to them, coming to life.
Jessie and Meowth both freeze in their tracks upon hearing the voice. They both turn and stare down at the little toy who smiles back at them.
"Unreal…talking Legos? Is this for real?" Jessie asks no one in particular.
"Given that this is a story where numerous universes exist within itself, I would not question it so," the little old Lego man humbly responds.
"Good point…" Meowth responds. "By the way, how did you know our names?"
"I've been reading a lot about you and your exploits. It seems luck is not your strong point. By the way, my name is Sensei Wu, pleased to meet you," the little old Lego man says, introducing himself.
"You're rather friendly. Normally the tiniest of threats would end up making us look bad in the end of a chapter. You aren't planning on doing the same, are you?" Jessie questions him.
"That's not up for me to decide. Your disposition and actions are very becoming of your daily trials," Sensei Wu tells them. "In other words, you are ultimately in control of your own destiny."
"Pfft, if only! No matter what we do the readers and writers will always end up swaying things to their favor!" Meowth responds in a huff.
"Have you considered looking into why you three are so despised by others?" Sensei Wu asks them.
"Well…no…not really…" Jessie responds.
"I see. Hmm, well, allow me to give you a test. Let me see if you can overcome the things that always hold you three back," Sensei Wu tells them.
At the moment, James zips up to the counter where the others stood to see what was going on.
"Hey you two, come check out this cute stuffed plushy I f- is that a talking Lego?!" James says, stopping mid-sentence in shock to the animated and lifelike toy.
"Ah good, now that you three are all together, let the test commence," Sensei Wu says, before whistling out a signal.
One by one, Sensei Wu's ninja students flip onto the counter-top from behind. Each ninja wore a different color outfit and held different weapons. There were four males in total.
"Let me introduce to you my students: Kai, Cole, Jay, and Zane. They are all in training to be master ninjas. Each other them have widely different personalities, but with proper training, focus, and teamwork, they are able to overcome most obstacles that come their way," Sensei Wu explains.
"So what do you want us to do, exactly?" James asks, as he and his team leans in closer to get a better look at the mini ninjas.
"I want you to battle them. The side that defeats the other wins," Sensei Wu explains.
"You want us to fight these wimps?! Ha, you have got to be joking!" taunts Kai the arrogant ninja in red.
"I would have to agree with Kai. It is highly improbably that we would pose a threat to those many times our size," responds Zane, the analytical ninja in white.
"Come on guys, we got this! What's the worst that could happen?" responds Jay, the wisecracking ninja in blue.
"We should be wary nonetheless. We know of these three, but never have we battled in person," says Cole, the confident ninja in black.
Jessie, James, and Meowth all look at one another before bursting out in laughter.
"You have to be joking me! This is going to be so easy!" James says in between laughs…
DOINK!
…before a tiny plastic katana is thrown into James's left eye, poking it out and blinding him.
"OW!" James yelps, now leaning down to see who threw the accessory at him. "Who did that?!"
"I did. Want another?" taunts Kai, as he and the other ninja then disperse across the store.
"Get them!" Meowth proclaims, as Team Rocket spreads out to track down the little Lego ninjas
Jessie was the first to notice Zane and Jay, who were standing in the distance on opposite sides of a bookshelf down one of the isles.
"I got you now!" Jessie says, charging down the isle to nab them.
Unbeknownst to her, those were decoys, and the real Zane and Jay appear much closer to Jessie as they both create a tripwire trap by her legs…
TWANG…CRASH!
…causing Jessie to fall face-first onto the concrete floor.
Meowth meanwhile had Cole cornered by a wall. The little ninja in black backs up as Meowth closes in on all fours.
"I got you now you little twerp! I'll smash you!" Meowth says, before slamming his foot on top of Cole…
CRACK!
"MEEEEOWWWWWWW!"
…resulting in Meowth shrieking in pain from his actions.
"Idiot, I'm a Lego, we hurt like heck when stepped on!" an unhurt Cole says, shaking his head before zipping off.
Sensei Wu shakes his head as he watches the battle from the counter.
"That Team Rocket…they have much to learn in not letting their arrogance get the best of them," he says to himself as his ninjas continue to make the Poke-thieves look really bad.
Ninjago ninjas are not to be toyed with…or are they? Please review and stay tuned to the next!
