Team Rocket and Team Ash receive newfound hope our next chapter:
#56: Rise Of The Phoenix
Morning had arrived. Everyone within their cell woke up in silence, still realizing that this whole situation was no joke. James had returned at some point during the early hours, looking pretty disheveled as if he saw some horrors (which to his credit he did from that toilet incident).
Butch was the first to speak up.
"So what now? Anyone find out anything about our situation?" Butch asks no one in particular.
"Well…" Jessie began, " I overheard last night from that pesky security guard that the person who ordered our permanent detainment is someone called 'Mr. G'," she explains to everyone.
"What?!" everyone else responds in unison.
"Oh no, you don't mean 'Mr. G' as in our boss 'Giovanni do you?!" Meowth says with an uneasy gulp. "I bet he's still angry at us accidentally rick-rolling him in the past."
"It's either him or the 'Mr. G' that I would accuse of sabotaging us would be Gary Oak!" Ash responds in a frustrated tone.
"Well, whoever is behind this whole situation is someone who doesn't like any of us, be it good or evil. And just who was that cloaked figure who had us arrested in the first place? Think he could have been an accomplice?" Brock speculates.
"Grasping at straws is going to get us nowhere. Our only chance to be bailed from this place was wasted on that phone call by Ash's Pikachu," Paul states annoyingly.
"Hey, Ash's Pikachu is quite intelligent, I doubt it wouldn't let us down!" Serena responds, putting her foot down at Paul's negative attitude.
"Then how is it that none of us really knows who Pikachu called then?" Paul retorts, shooting a glare at the yellow Pokemon.
"Pikaaa-" Pikachu says in a defensive tone, its cheeks sparking as if it were gearing up to perform an electric attack.
"Whoa whoa whoa, everyone calm down!" Cassidy pipes into the conversation. "Have a little faith for once!"
"And just how are we supposed to stay calm when both the heroes and the villains of this series are victim to a greater plot beyond our control?" James questions her.
"Look, all of us have been in some sort of crazy scenario before, but at the end of the day, each of us manages to overcome some trial and come out victorious with some deus ex machina luck on our side," Ash reminds everyone.
"Oh sure, that so called 'deus ex machina' has really helped you win plenty of Pokemon League battles, hasn't it?" Paul taunts, intentionally trying to push Ash's buttons.
"Oh that does it, I oughta clobber you for that remark!" Ash proclaims, standing to his feet and preparing to confront Paul face to face.
Before anything could amount from the argument, the cell doors to suddenly fly open. Everyone freezes in place as they turn toward the door to see what was going on.
It was that fat ugly security guard, and someone else standing just out of view behind him.
"Alright you bratty kids, you all just got really lucky today. Someone is here to represent you all in court," the security guard says in an annoyed tone, unhappy that he doesn't get to keep them locked up for any more time.
"A lawyer?! But how?!" Jessie asks in confusion.
"That little yellow rodent of yours called the Wright & Co. Law Offices in Los Angeles, and their top attorney agreed to represent you all in court," the security guard responds, stepping to the side to let the gentleman behind him to step forward.
To everyone's shock and delight, they all were introduced to a tall, young man with spiked gel hair wearing a blue business suit and a red tie. He smiles, places his hands on his hips and grins.
"Hello everyone, my name is Phoenix Wright. I'll be your attorney."
Bet you saw this coming! Team Rock and Team Ash now have a chance to defend themselves, but how long will their turnabout luck last?
Please review and stay tuned to the next chapter!
