Team Rocket and Team Ash are now in court to try to win their freedom in:

#57: Turnabout Trainwreck: Part 1

February 10th, 3:36pm
District Court
Courtroom No. 6

The day had come. Both Ash's friends and Team Rocket's crew were all in sitting patiently in the courtroom stands alongside their attorney, the well-respected rookie known as Phoenix Wright. He wore a blue suit, white dress shirt with a red tie, and had distinctly slicked-back spiky hair.

Opposite of them was were individuals who were hell-bent on seeing our heroes be put away for good. These included the mysterious man in the trench coat, that fat slob of a security guard from the jail, and their prosecuting attorney representing them: Gadot. The man wore a green dress shirt with a tan striped vest, has tanned skin, white hair, and wore a strange red and silver electronic visor.

In the courtroom's audience sat every single person that Team Rocket has encountered in this story up to this point, similar to the ensemble that was at that cook-off competition a while back.

The judge, an older gentleman with a long white board and bald head, bangs on his gavel to bring order to everyone in the courtroom.

"Order in the court. The court is now in session for the trial of "Ash & Team Rocket vs The Unnamed City Far From Home" will now begin.

"The defense is ready, Your Honor," says Phoenix.

Gadot, the prosecutor, didn't say a single word.

"The prosecution, are you ready to…" the judge asks Gadot before being interrupted.

"…What a stupid question," Gadot replies coldly.

"W-what?! What did you say?" the judge replies in shock.

"Fine. Let me ask you then, Your Honor. Are YOU ready?" Gadot asks frankly. "Are you ready…to pass judgement?"

Ash, Team Rocket, and everyone else on the defense side all looked at one another in confusion.

"Just who does he think he is, anyway? I bet with his rotton attitude he'd probably screw himself over," Paul responds, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, sounds like someone we know," James responds, darting a glare at Paul in response.

"Shh, you guys, settle down, try not to make a fuss unless you're asked to speak," Phoenix hastily instructs his clients before he would get into trouble.

"What's wrong, Wright? Having trouble corralling your hopeless team of criminals? Well, if you are not ready, you should just go home. I don't expect you or the judge to understand what's about to happen," Gadot says straight to their faces. "After all, I am Godot, legendary prosecutor. I never lost a case."

"Looks like the only thing you lost was your sense of fashion. What's with that stupid visor, anyways?" Meowth questions, pointing to Gadot's face.

Gadot chuckles.

"This will be the easiest case ever, I won't need to do much as the defense implodes on themselves due to their stupidity," Gadot responds.

"…Kick his ass using the full extent of the law, Mr. Wright," Cassidy mutters to their lawyer under her breath, with everyone else on their side nodding in agreement.

Phoenix simply scratches his head and smiles embarrassingly at the vote of confidence despite his clients making him look bad the more they spoke out of turn.

The judge bangs his gavel once more to get everyone's attention.

"Order! Let the trial begin," the judge announces. "From what I have gathered, the prosecuting team has charged the defense team with several crimes including attempted theft of personal property, multiple escape attempts from jail, attempted assault upon security personnel, and slander against officials. How does the defense plea?"

"Not guilty," Your Honor," Phoenix responds.

Gadot let's out a loud condescending sneer in response.

"Bullshit," Gadot says. You're not going to win this case at all, Wright. Your clients are going to be served and locked up good," he adds, pulling out a mug of hot coffee and taking a sip from it.

Pikachu angrily started to charge up its electricity in response, but yields when Ash signals him to not fry the prosecutor in front of the judge.

"Ahem, we will now call upon the first witness on the prosecuting side," the judge says, turning to Gadot.

Gadot smiles evilly.

"Your Honor, for my first witness testimony, I'd like to call the 'Jail Security Guard' to the stand.

Looks like this case is about to heat up! How will our heroes fare against their enemies in the court of law?
