Alex followed Cedric through the stalls of the quidditch stadium, leading their group to their seats to watch the match. He held onto her hand and walked silently, only stopping a few times to wave to a friend or classmate. Alex was relieved by his silence, too distracted by the disappearance of both her brothers to be in a talkative mood. The only thing she knew from Harry was that Justin had stormed out of the tent earlier and that Max went looking for him shortly after. Neither of them had returned since.

"Distracted?" Alex looked to Cedric who was watching her curiously. She hadn't realized they had all stopped and the others were getting themselves situated in their own seats. "Sit." Cedric took a seat, pulling Alex to his lap.

"I just really want to know where my brothers are." She frowned as she scanned the crowd again. "I'm starting to get a little worried."

"Hey." Alex looked at Cedric as he wrapped his arms around her. "Don't be worried. I'm sure both your brothers are fine. Max is quite popular among the Hufflepuff so he might have run into some friends. You're little brother is quite odd, you know that right?" Cedric gave her a quizzical look, an attempt to distract her.

"That's the best part of my little brother."

"If you say so." He laughed.

"Where are Mr. Weasley and your dad?" She asked as she scanned the seats around them again.

Cedric shrugged before leaning back against his chair. "They must have run into old friends. Happens a lot when I come here with him. It takes us forever to get to our seats."

Alex nodded. Her eyes began to search the crowds of wizards making their way to their seats. She stood from Cedric's lap, smiling in relief as she spotted Max standing a few rows away from them with a brunette she recognized from Hogwarts. They hugged briefly before the girl pranced away. Max walked down the rows, a large smile plastered on his face. He waved towards Alex and Cedric when he saw them and made his way down the row to take the empty seat closest to his sister.

"Who was the girl Max?" Alex looked at her brother with a smirk as she sat down beside him.

"She's a friend." Max said nonchalantly before taking a look around them. "Where's Justin?"

"No one found him. I'm kind of starting to worry."

"Justin, over here!" Ron called out from a few seats away from him. Alex and Max both looked in the direction Ron was waving to see their brother standing a few sections from them with Seamus, Neville, Parvati, And Padma. Alex put her hands on the hand rests to stand herself up, but stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked beside her to see Max shaking his head at her.

"He's okay. Just leave him for now with his friends. We can catch up to him later. You aren't the overbearing sister, remember?" Max smiled at his sister.

Alex nodded, surprised by her brother's smart advice. She couldn't help the smile that broke out on her face as she looked at him.

"What?"

"Nothing." She shook her head.

Max shrugged and turned away from Alex to talk to Ginny and Ron. Alex turned back to Cedric, who had since been preoccupied by a conversation with Fred and George on the impending quidditch. She slumped back into her chair, crossing her arms over her chest as the realization hit her. She still didn't understand quidditch...

~~~~~
Justin sighed at the sound of the final alarm announcing five minutes before the start of the match. He waved goodbye to his friends before making his way towards the seats he saw his sister and their friends seated at earlier. He watched Alex as he made his way over to them. Her eyes stayed fixed on him as soon as she noticed him walking in their direction and she quickly turned to Max to whisper something in his ear. Max looked over to Justin, waving at him happily before scooting over to the vacant seat beside him. As he approached the others. He gave Fred, George and Cedric a quick greeting before making his way past them to take the seat between Alex and Max.
"Where have you been?" Max and Alex both asked him as soon as he was settled in his seat.
"I just needed some time to myself. I ran into Parvati and she invited me to join her, Padma, Seamus, and Neville." Justin shrugged. "I lost track of time."
"Did you get into a fight with Ginny?" Max blurted out. Justin looked to his sister who was looking between the two in confusion.
"Yes I did, but... it is none of either of your business!"
"Why'd you fight with her?" Alex asked, lowering her voice. "I thought you two were hitting it off."
"I did too..." Justin mumbled under his breath. He glanced over at Ginny who was sitting a few seats away from them, not so subtly looking at Justin from time to time.
"Justin?"
"No, I think you're confused. I'm not hitting it off with anyone. Absolutely no one." Justin emphasized, looking to Ginny again. He caught the hurt expression on her face before she turned herself away to busy herself in a conversation with Harry and Hermione.
"Right..." Alex looked at her brother in disbelief. Right.
~~~~~

Alex sat back with her arms folded over her chest. She didn't know how long a professional quidditch match went, but she was already ready for it to end. She was seated between Cedric and Justin, both of which she was annoyed by at that moment. Since they had entered the area. Cedric became preoccupied by the impending match, he barely gave Alex a second of attention. The least he could do was hold her hand or offer to get her a snack. Anything cute and boyfriendy was acceptable! In addition to this, Justin had been very short with Alex since their earlier conversation about Ginny. So she mistook his friendship with Ginny as something more, big whoop!

Music blared from the speakers. The conversation around them ceased as the wizards around her began to cheer excitedly, their friends and her boyfriend included. Alex looked around the arena to see a few Quidditch players had appeared and were flying around on their broomsticks, riling up the fans. As Alex looked down at the field, she noticed more player making their way out from gates below the stands. The cheers around them began to grow. Alex looked up and was surprised to find a brunette-haired boy floating on a broom in front of her. His two hazel eyes were staring straight into her own and it took her a moment before she realized he was one of the quidditch players. Alex studied the boy, noting that he was actually pretty attractive. He had bouffant-styled hair and sun-kissed skin. He had some scruff around his chiseled jawline and very symmetrical features on his face. She couldn't help the blush that dawned her face as she realized he was studying her the same as she was him. He stared at her a moment too long as one of the other players flew up and patted him on the shoulder. He quickly looked away from Alex and turned his attention to his friend, sending him a nod before the other player flew away. He turned back to Alex, this time smiling at her and sending her a wink before he waved to the crowd and zoomed off on his broom in another direction.

Who was that?

Alex felt Cedric's hand entwine with her own as she stared after the boy. Once he was far enough away, she turned to look at Cedric. His eyes were in the direction she was looking before, a slightly annoyed look on his face. No, not annoyed. Jealous? Was Cedric jealous?

"You okay?" Alex nudged him.

"Yes. I'm fine." Cedric took their intertwined hands to his lips, kissing the back of her hand. His eyes stayed on the field as a whistle went off signaling the start of the match.

"If you say so..." Alex nodded to herself.

~~~~~
Justin sat on the bottom bunk of the bed, his back resting against a pillow as he stared at their mother's necklace as it lay in his hand. Holding it made him feel closer to the mother he never knew, and that made him glad. He had somehow managed to convince Alex to let him hold onto it until they got to Hogwarts. He was surprised that she had agreed to it, but didn't question her momentary kindness. Alex hadn't let the necklace out of her sight from the moment she first put it on. Justin figured her kind act was partially because she felt bad for Justin. He also suspected Alex had used their conversation as an excuse to excuse herself from staying with Cedric after the match. His sister looked ready to die of boredom throughout the whole match. Despite the extra attention she was getting from one of the quidditch players... and Cedric whenever said quidditch player would come by.
"Justin?"
Justin looked to the bed beside him, recognizing the voice to be Ginny's. She was seated on the bottom bunk of the bed next to his, her hands fiddling with her wand. He sighed as he turned his body to face her.
"How can I be of help Ginny?" He finally looked her in the eyes, seeing the hesitation in them as he stared at her.
"I didn't need anything. I... I just wanted to see if you had enjoyed the match today." Ginny smiled at him.
"Yeah… it was okay, I guess."
"Only okay?" Ginny raised an eyebrow.
"I still don't entirely understand quidditch. This seemed different than what I was used to seeing at school. I mostly just watched for Max and Cedric's reaction and reacted accordingly." Justin shrugged.
"Maybe I can teach you more about Quidditch? I know quite a lot... If you'd like, that is." Ginny looked at Justin hopefully.
Did he want that? Justin liked talking to Ginny... as a matter of fact, he really enjoyed it. But were the feelings that had developed through their phone conversations real? He and Ginny had barely ever spent time together in person. The one day they did, they ended up in a fight. Justin watched Ginny's face fall ever so slightly at the elongated silence that came from him. "Ginny… I-"
"Don't worry about it, Justin. I should have known that you're probably busy with preparations for the OWLs and the school year. I should have considered that before I even asked. Actually, it's getting quite late so I should be getting to bed... and letting you get to bed. We all have a train to catch tomorrow anyway." Ginny rambled off quickly. She looked at Justin nervously, who still hadn't found the words to say something. "Have a good night Justin!" She quickly laid back down on the bed, her back facing him and threw her blanket over herself. Justin looked on, unsure where they went from there.
~~~~~

"Victor Krum is amazing! Can you believe he stood in front of us for so long and even smiled!" Ron said excitedly.

Max nodded in agreement as the others rolled their eyes at them. Alex was seated on a log bench outside the tent, roasting marshmallows beside Cedric. They were all sitting together, talking about the events of the day. Most of them were there except for Harry, Ginny and Justin, who had already gone to bed. Ron and Cedric's dads who were celebrating with friends in neighboring tents.

"Which one was Victor Krum?" Alex asked in confusion.

"The quidditch player who stopped in front of us and smiled. You know, like Ron said!" Max replied. Fred, George and Ron all looked at Alex in surprise.

"Weren't there two players that stopped in front of us?" She pointed out. "I'm talking about the first one. The one that kept scoring goals over and over."

"Oh, you're thinking of Adam Good!" Fred said with a smirk as he nudged his brother. "The one that was checking Alex out."

"He was not checking me out!" Alex blushed. He was totally checking her out.

"He's newer to the team. Him and Krum. Heard he's headed to Hogwarts this year with his little sister." George added, ignoring Alex.

"What did you think of him?" Fred asked, leaning towards Alex with a mischievous smirk.

"He was really attr-" She stopped herself, her eyes meeting Cedric's beside her. He wasn't looking at her but she could tell by his stiff demeanor that he was listening in uncomfortably. He looked uncomfortable by the conversation. Was he Irritated or Jealous? "He was really Impressive." She said quickly.

"He wasn't that attractive." Cedric frowned, ignoring her quick change to the word 'impressive.'

"Of course not! Girls have his posters hanging in their rooms because he's a great player." Fred rolled his eyes as George snickered.

"Looked to me like he had his eyes on a certain girl in the stands. He was being a little showy and definitely looked in her direction more than once." Alex looked at Cedric, noticing that his discomfort from before was a little more apparent, he looked more irritated. She looked at his hands to see he had them balled up in fists as he tried to ignore Fred and George's teasing.

"Maybe…" Alex shrugged, placing a hand on Cedric's fist and smiling at him. "Too bad not all girls are impressed by quidditch skills. I personally like a boy who sweeps me off my feet." Alex leaned towards him, placing a kiss on his cheek. She was relieved when he released a breath and his body relaxed slightly beside her. Alex relaxed against her boyfriend as she looked to Max to change the subject. "So Max, who was the girl you were hanging out with? A fellow quidditch-lover?" She winked at him.

"Oh, you mean Marietta? She is a friend from school, I've been owling her all summer."

"Ooh, so that's why you were asking Justin what it meant to owl someone." Alex asked excitedly.

"Owling her the whole summer, that's a good sign." Hermione said to Max. "Someone who is interested enough to owl you all summer must really like you." She narrowed her eyes towards Alex as she said this, giving her a knowing look. What was she implying? She stared back at Hermione who continued to look at her with a knowing looked.

"Cedric, did you owl Alex this summer?" Hermione turned her attention to him.

"He called." Alex replied for him as she quickly stood up.

She heard shuffling beside her as Cedric stood up as well and everyone watched her grab her jacket off the ground. She turned towards him and smiled as he moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist. "You okay, love?" He looked down at her in concern.

"I'm fine. Just a little tired. I think I'm going to head to bed." Alex smiled up at him

"Let me walk you in." Alex nodded, letting him take her hand and lead her towards the tent. She couldn't help but look back at Hermione as she thought about what she said. She couldn't have meant that Harry liked her, right?
