~Everything's Not What It Seems~
Alex and Justin are siblings sent to Hogwarts to learn about magic just like their father. There they meet new friends, fall in love, and find out that truly everything is not what it seems.

Alex woke up to screaming and a hand on her shoulder, shaking her. She opened her eyes and jumped up to a sitting position, hitting her head on something. "Ow." She rubbed her head as she heard a groan beside her. She looked on the floor beside her bed to see Harry holding his head, silently cursing to himself.
"Harry?"
He looked up in surprise. He held his hand to his head as he quickly got up.
"We need to go!" He said in panic as he grabbed Alex by the wrist and pulled her out of the bed.
"What's going on?" She asked as looked around them to see that none of the beds were occupied. She was still barely awake. "Where is everyone?"
"I'm not sure. I woke up and no one was here." He responded quickly as he took her hand in his own and pulled her after him. Alex followed without question until they got outside the tent. She stopped abruptly as she took in their surrounding. What was a bustle of tents and happy wizards socializing with one another, had turned into ash and fire. Alex looked around her in horror at all the burned tents and smoke, all signs of the celebration gone.
"Alex, we need to go!"
"What's going on?" She asked in panic.
"I don't know." Harry shook his head before proceeding to walk, pulling her with him. "I woke up and found everyone gone. Last thing I remember before I fell asleep was Ron telling me they were all going to celebrate with some friends a few tents down." Alex nodded.
She stopped again suddenly, pulling on Harry's hand. "Justin and Ginny were in the tent when I came in! We have to go back for Justin!"
Alex tried to turn away but Harry stopped her, pulling her back to face him. "I told you, when I woke up no one was there. He and Ginny were already gone. It was pretty dark when I woke up but as the flames rose I was able to see you were in the tent too."
Alex sighed, motioning Harry forward with her free hand. He squeezed Alex's hand before turning again. They began to run as they heard yelling in the distance.
"What do you think happened?"
"Not sure, but... I have a feeling they are after us. I just hope Justin is safe wherever he is."
She shivered as a strong breeze came past them as they ran. Alex turned her head and shrieked when she spotted a hooded figure with a skeletal face behind her. She stopped abruptly, unable to move her legs as it got closer. Alex felt Harry pull on her hand from behind her but couldn't move. She felt an arm wrap around her and pull her back as the hooded figure pulled out a wand. A light lit at the tip of the wand and Alex couldn't help the shriek that escaped from her. Alex felt a surge of pain spread through her body as she fell back against Harry. She could barely keep her eyes open as she saw the hooded figure approach them. The last thing she saw was a bright light before everything went black.

Justin looked around with worry as he ran passed another burning tent, one hand holding on tightly to Ginny's hand while the other held the box with his mom's mirror and necklace. He only hoped Alex and Max were safe with the others. Alex had to be Cedric and the others, but where were they?
"Maybe they are where the port key landed us?" Ginny suggested as they ran.
Justin looked at her and nodded as they headed towards the hill they originally came from. "We're close." They ran faster, dodging the flames in the air, ignoring the pain in their legs. Justin was relieved as they got closer to the hill and could see Mr. Weasley, Mr. Diggory and Cedric hiding at the edge of the woods. Mr. Weasley's face turned to relief as he spotted them. He moved from the trees towards them, his wand out as he approached. When they reached them, Mr. Weasley pulled them both in for a hug.
"Thank goodness you too are alright. Are Harry and Alex behind you?" He asked as he pulled away and looked past them.
"What do you mean? Why would Alex be with us?"
Justin looked at Cedric as he approached them, his face one of concern. "You mean you two left Alex in the tent?"
Justin began to panic. Alex couldn't have been there. "But Alex was with you guys!"
Cedric shook his head. "No, Alex was tired so she retired to the tent. I saw her get in bed. After Alex left us, a Sheamus came by and invited us all to join them at another tent with other Hogwarts student. Your sister was already asleep when I went to invite her to come with us."
Justin turned around and looked back at the chaos and rubble that remained from what was once a celebration ground for the World Cup. Somewhere in there was his sister and he didn't even know if she was alive.
~~~~~
"Alex! Alex, wake up! Alex!"
Ugh, who is trying to ruin my sleep? Alex tried to go back to sleep and she waved her hand in front of her
"Ow. Alex stop hitting me.". Wait, Harry? She quickly opened her eyes, her eyes meeting his very worried eyes staring down at her. She tried to sit up but her head began to spin and she immediately laid back down again. Why did her head hurt so bad? The last thing she remembered was Harry waking her up, then… the fires. Oh! She sat up again, this time ignoring the throbbing pain in her head. She looked around her, the rubble confirming that everything that happened was not a nightmare. She scanned the wasteland of rubble and ashes around her.
"It's a horrendous sight, isn't it?" Alex turned around and see Harry crouched down behind her, looking off into the scene with a saddened face.
"What happened… like when we were running?" She asked.
Harry looked at her. "They came for us and we both passed out but not before I saw them run away." Harry shook his head with anger.
"Who were they?"
Harry shrugged and started to stand up. "I don't know, but we won't find out staying here. We should go find the others."
Harry extended his hands towards her. Alex took his hand and stood up. She cringed as an intense pain shot through her leg. She grabbed onto Harry's shoulder as she bent over and groaned. Harry held her up as they both looked down at her leg. She cringed at the giant gash across her left leg.
"You can't walk. I'll have to carry you." Harry said as he continued to scrutinize her leg.
Carry me? Alex blushed as Harry made his way towards her. "How about you just act as my crutch. I don't know how far we'll get if you carry me all the way Harry." She laughed as he wrapped an arm around her waist and adjusted her so an arm was slung over his shoulder to support her.
"Does that work?"
"Yes. Thank you." She looked at Harry appreciatively as they began to walk.
"Harry, is everyone okay? Justin, Max, the Weasleys..." Cedric. For some reason saying his name in front of Harry didn't sound right at that moment.
Harry shook his head sadly "I hope they are okay. We should look for them, I just don't know where."
"Do you think anyone got hurt? Like... the other attendees? People we know from Hogwarts? Their families?" Alex asked in horror.
"I hope not... but with this mess, it's likely there were some casualties." Harry frowned. "It feels like it's my fault. If I had never been here, there would have been no attack."
"We cant afford to think like that Harry. Blaming yourself won't undo this." Alex smiles encouragingly at him.
"Perhaps you're right."
They walked silently for some time, unsure what to say. She didn't even know where they were going, nor did she care. She was too preoccupied by the idea of her friends and family potentially being hurt. Did her brothers get away safely? Did their friends?
"Harry! Alex!"
They both looked at each other as the familiar voice called out their names.
"Justin! That's Justin!" Alex smiled in relief as she looked around. "That way!" She instructed Harry as they made their way towards the direction they heard her brother's voice. She ignored the pain in her leg as they walked quickly. She almost screamed with joy when she saw the back for her brother's head behind a tent. "Justin!"
Justin turned towards them, a big smile of relief appearing on his face. "Alex! Guys, she's here!" Justin quickly made his way towards them. He stopped when he was in front of them and quickly pulled Alex into an embrace. "Thank god you're okay. I thought I lost you."
"I'm okay." She whispered to her brother before they broke apart.
She looked past Justin to see Cedric and Mr. Weasley making their way over to them, both looking as relieved as Justin. When Cedric reached Alex, he pulled her into his arms. Alex buried her face in his chest, happy to see her boyfriend safe.
"What happened to your leg?" Justin asked in concern as Alex and Cedric broke apart. She clenched her teeth as a pain shot through her leg and she nearly lost her balance. Cedric held her closer to him, taking the pressure of her leg. Justin looked at Harry questioningly.
"We were attacked last night." Harry explained.
"You guys were attacked?" Amos asked as he made his way over to them. "Was it a Death Eater?" His face looked grave.
"What's a Death Eater?" Harry and Alex asked at the same time. She looked at Justin to see him shaking his head at her in disapproval. Was she supposed to know this?
"Death Eaters are followers of Volt…" Justin stopped himself and rolled his eyes before continuing. "Followers of 'The One Who Must Not be Named.' They are the ones who attacked last night." Alex looked at Mr. Weasley and Mr. Diggory who were both shaking their heads in disappointment.
"They were after us, weren't they?" Harry asked. No one said anything for some time as they avoided his gaze.
Mr. Weasley finally broke the silence. "We believe they were after you Harry. I don't actually know what you mean by 'us.'" He looked between Harry, Justin and Alex with confusion. Justin and Alex both give Harry a knowing glance. The realization passed on his face as he nodded towards them subtly.
"Us, as in myself and the other two of the prophecy… whoever they are." Harry quickly said.
"Right." Mr. Weasley nodded. "We should get Alex back to the Burrow and have her leg checked out. We should probably contact your parents. They must be worried…"
"No!"" Justin and Alex objected at the same time. Mr. Weasley looks at them in confusion.
"Why not?"
"Don't make them worry, I'll be fine. I'll have Mrs. Weasley look at it briefly and then we leave for Hogwarts later. When I get to Hogwarts I'll have my leg checked again by Madam Pomfrey."
Mr. Weasley stared at her leg a while before he finally nodded. Alex and Justin both sighed in relief. If this got to Jerry and Theresa, it wouldn't take long for it to get to Lupin and their dad. They didn't want to worry them anymore than necessary.
"I'll carry you." Cedric offered, moving his arms to pick up Alex. Justin came forward to stop him.
"It's alright Cedric. We are headed to the Weasley's anyway and you are headed home. I should have enough strength to get my sister to the port key and I have Harry to help me. I need to talk to my sister for a minute." Justin glanced at Harry to see him nodding in agreement. Cedric frowned but stepped back as Justin picked up his sister into his arms. He began to walk ahead of them as Harry sped up to get into step with Justin. He inconspicuously glanced back to check that they were not in hearing distance before whispering to Harry and Alex.
"So it's agreed we tell dad nothing about this?" Justin said to Alex then at Harry.
"He'll surely find out about the attack but he won't find out about Alex's leg. My lips are sealed." Harry promised.
"And of course I won't say anything to him, I'm sure my leg is fine." She smiled, more in an attempt to convince herself than her brother. What kind of trouble can I get to if my leg doesn't work? She still had to test the limits of her uncle.
"What's going on in your head Alex? You have one of those mischievous grins on your face that I hate." Justin narrowed his eyes at his sister.
Alex looked at him with a big smile. "Nothing that concern you big brother. Nothing that concerns you."
