~Everything's Not What It Seems~
Alex and Justin are siblings sent to Hogwarts to learn about magic just like their father. There they meet new friends, fall in love, and find out that truly everything is not what it seems.

"I wonder what is in store for us in third year potions. I can't believe we have this class second. I was rather hoping to have this class in the afternoon." Hermione sighed as they approached the dungeon.
"I was hoping for no Potions at all." Ron complained.
"You and me both." Harry grabbed onto the handle of the door and held it open as Ron and Hermione made their way inside. He internally groaned when he found that, as usual, they were sharing the class with the fourth year Slytherins. Why was it always Slytherin? Why not Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw? He scanned the room for an empty spot for them to sit when he spotted an empty table already waiting for them. He smiled in relief as Alex looked towards the trio, waving at them to join her.
"Alex, you're here." Harry said to her as they joined her at the table.
Alex shrugged. "Yeah. I kinda can't not show up."
"But you've missed your defense against the dark art already! Where have you been?" Hermione asked Alex with a look of seriousness. She looked around warily, probably hoping Professor Snape didn't overhear.
"I had a meeting with Professor Snape in the first." She shrugged nonchalantly. "He said I could miss the rest of class. So, how was DADA?"
"DADA?" Hermione and Harry asked at the same time. They both stared at Alex in confusion.
"Yeah... Defense Against the Dark Arts. How was it?"
Could Harry tell Alex about their first experience in Professor Moody's class? Based on the way Justin and Neville reacted, he wasn't so sure. Harry looked at Hermione and Ron who were both staring at him in doubt. Hermione shook her head slightly, her eyes warning him against saying anything. He turned his attention back to Alex, who was still staring at him expectantly.
"It was… strange. I can truly say you best missed that class and likely used your time better. What was the meeting with Professor Snape about?" Alex averted her gaze as she bit her bottom lip. She looked as down at her hands awkwardly as she thought about what to say. She was definitely hiding something.
"Nothing special. He was just telling me that his expectations are the same as last year. He had me sign a liability form so he wouldn't be responsible for any fires I cause outside of class hours." She smiled at them genuinely. Harry looked at Hermione. She shook her head, seeming to believe Alex as much as Harry did.
"I'm sure that's it. Sounds like something they would have you do." Hermione said slowly. She turned to Ron quickly. "Oh… that reminds me, I need to talk to Neville about herbology. Come Ron, you can come with me."
"Me?" Ron gave them a pleading look as Hermione grabbed onto his shoulder and pulled him away from their table. Harry and Alex watched them approach Neville, who was seated a few tables down with Seamus. As Harry turned back to Alex he could see her discomfort.
"Alex." Harry paused. What exactly was he going to ask? "Alex… I know you aren't telling the truth. Justin was acting odd this morning in Defense Against the Dark Arts before what happened in class-"
Alex's looked at Harry curiously. "What happened in class?"
"Nothing…" He said quickly. He internally cursed himself for how unbelievable he sounded.
"How about this. I'll tell you why I was missing this morning if you tell me what I missed in class." Alex looked at him with an irresistible smirk as she leaned closer to him. Harry couldn't help but smile back as he leaned closer to her. Her scent immediately intoxicated him as they stared at each other, merely inches away. "Do we have a deal?"
"Deal." Harry said, not really thinking about the repercussions of his agreement.
"Perfect!" Alex's eyes lit up and she leaned away from him. Harry suddenly became very aware of how close they were in those few seconds, and he missed their proximity. Harry leaned away, slightly disappointed. He debated in his head whether she knew the effect she had on Harry. He wasn't so sure anymore "Right now?"
"No, of course not! Professor Snape will be here soon... and so will Ron and Hermione. How about we meet at lunch? I skipped breakfast but I sneaked some snacks out of the kitchen during DADA. It's all fresh and will be okay for us to eat. How about we meet up somewhere away from the Great Hall?" Alex looked at him expectantly.
"Where?"
"I actually have just the place!" Her eyes lit up as she said this. "I don't know exactly where it is or how to get there, but I have kind of a general idea. There is this secret place that this little gnome thing told me about. I think he said his name was Bobby... or was it Knobby? Dobby? Whatever... He told me about a place. We just need to sneak away before lunch... away from Ron and Hermione." She whispered the last part.
"Okay." He nodded. Harry turned his stool forward just as Ron and Hermione returned to their seats.
"What were you two talking about while we were gone?" Ron darted his eyes from Alex to Harry curiously.
"Dobby." Alex and Harry said at the same time. Ron gave them both a strange look just as the dungeon doors flew open and Professor Snape walked in.

Justin walked out of fifth year her plight, overjoyed that class was cut short and he could make his way to the Great Hall for lunch. While normally he didn't like the idea of class ending early, he'd experienced too my of their new professors for one day. He also had skipped breakfast that morning to look for his sister, so he was very eager to find something to eat. Something was finally going right for him.
"Harry Potter and Alex. Harry Potter and Alex. Harry Potter and Alex!"
Justin stopped as the unfamiliar voice approached from around the corner. What the heck? He walked around the corner to see a house elf standing alone with two picture frames in hand. He was swaying the photos together back in forth as he continued to chant.
"Harry Potter and Alex! Harry Potter and Alex."
Justin approached the house elf quietly, his eyes on the picture frame. When he was only a few feet behind the elf, he was able to see the photos were that of Harry and Alex.He recognized the one with to be a photo Alex to took at Hogwarts Express before they went home at the end of the summer. Where did he get those?
"Hey, you house elf! What are you doing with those photos?!" He marched up to the house elf, glaring as it turned to look at him in fear.
"Dobby didn't do anything bad! He was only helping Harry Potter and Alex!" He said as he held the picture frames in front of his face. He opened one eye to look at Justin then lowered the frames, slightly relaxing. "You're Justin! Justin! Alex's Justin! You will be pleased with Dobby's work!"
"Who is this Dobby you keep referring to and why would I be pleased by his work?"
"I am Dobby. Dobby helped Harry Potter and Alex. Now they will be alone and will fall in love and be happy just like it's supposed to be. Did Dobby do well?" Dobby looked up at Justin proudly.
Justin grabbed onto the house elf's collar, pulling It towards him. "Dobby, what the hell did you do?"
"Dobby won't tell. Harry Potter and Alex needed Dobby's help! Dobby helped!" Dobby smirked at Justin before dropping the frames and disappearing with a snap.
Justin looked at his arms in disbelief. What did it do?
~~~~~
Dobby must clean. Dobby must work. Dobby has a job now, a job that has a lot of work. Barmy Old Godger thought he could trick Dobby, but Dobby is smart! Dobby worked for one galleon, not ten and Dobby work weekdays and weekends! Now Dobby must find something to do, there is no work for Dobby here. Dobby should go clean the dungeons! Yes! Good thing Dobby is almost there. No one is in the dungeons now. Dobby will clean dungeons very good! Dobby- The house elf stopped abruptly as it slammed into a larger body. Oh no, someone is attacking Dobby!
"Sorry little goblin thing. I didn't see you there."
Dobby looked up in fear only to relax at the site of a young girl. This girl looked familiar to Dobby. Was she a friend of Harry Potter? Dobby liked Harry Potter.
"Dobby is okay. Dobby wants to know if you are Harry Potter's friend?"
"Yes I am." Alex paused. "Uh... Who's Dobby?" She looked at him in confusion.
Why did the black haired girl ask Dobby the same questions everyone did. Must he tell everyone who Dobby is?
"I am Dobby."
"I am Alex." Alex extended her hand towards the house elf who immediately shrunk back in fear. Why does Harry Potter's friends want to hurt Dobby! "Uhhh... Dobby, I only want to shake your hand. It's a form of greeting."
He opened his eyes, relaxing as he looked at Alex. "Dobby dare not touch Alex. Alex is Harry Potter's friend?"
"Uh... okay. Yeah, Harry and I are the best of friends!" Alex smiled at him! Alex and Harry Potter are best friends? Does that mean that Harry Potter and Alex are in love? Dobby loves love!
"Dobby is at Alex's service!" He bowed.
"Um... thanks I guess... But I really don't need anything now. If I need anything though, you'll be the first to know Dobby."
What if Dobby isn't there with Alex needs something? How will Dobby help Alex? Harry Potter's best friend?
"Dobby?"
Dobby must help Harry Potter and Alex. Harry Potter and Alex! Dobby knows what to do. Dobby will tell Alex about the Come-and-Go-Room! Then Dobby can help Harry Potter and Alex!
"Dobby can tell Alex where to go if Alex were to need anything."
"Anything I need?" Alex looked at the house elf curiously.
"Dobby knows of the perfect room. The Room of Requirements! It is a room that one can only enter when they really are in need. The room fulfills the needs of the seeker and will only appear sometimes! Dobby knows Alex needs it!"
"Alex does need it Dobby. Thank you! Now I just need to know where this place is."
Oh no, Dobby forgot where house-elves say the Come-and-Go-Room is. Dobby has failed Harry Potter and Alex! Dobby must be punished!
"Dobby? Is this place in the castle?"
Yes! Dobby remembers! In the castle! "Yes! Dobby heard it is on the seventh floor."
"And where on the seventh floor can I find it Dobby?"
"Alex must walk past the door three times, thinking about what Alex needs. The entrance is across from the tapestry."
"Tapestry, huh? I know exactly where that is." Alex looked at him with a smile! Dobby did good! Dobby helped Harry Potter and Alex! "Thanks Dobby!"
"Dobby's pleasure to be of Alex's service."
