Alex continued to pull on Harry's arm as they approached the tapestries on the seventh floor. She ignored Harry's questions as she started to think of what they needed. She paced back and forth in front of the tapestries as Harry looked on in confusion. I need to tell Harry about Professor Dumbledore being my uncle. I need to tell him because it's killing me inside not to tell anyone. I need somewhere that no one else can find us or hear us.
"Alex?"
She continued to ignore him as she paced back and forth three times, recounting Dobby instructions. She stopped beside the tapestry and frowned. Nothing! Uggh. Stupid house elf! She turned back to Harry in frustration. As she opened her mouth to finally explain to Harry the reason for her odd behavior, she heard a sound from behind her. Harry looked past her in awe as a smirk appeared on her lips. Hmm guess the elf wasn't lying. She turned around as her eyes fell on the opening that had appeared. The Room of Requirements.
"What is this?" Harry asked as he walked up beside her.
"I'll tell you everything you want to know once we're inside." She grabbed onto his arm again and pulled him towards the door. As they made their way inside, they heard the same noise again behind them. Alex looked around in awe, scanning the room. It looked like a replica of the Gryffindor common area. She turned back to Harry to see him staring at the wall they had entered from in concern.
"Shouldn't we-"
"We'll figure something out later." She shrugged.
"Okay..." Harry looked at the wall again with a frown.
"Come on." Alex rolled her eyes as she motioned him towards the familiar-looking sofa. He sighed but followed her. Alex seated herself on one end as Harry took the empty space beside her. They both turned their bodies to face each other, their back resting on the arm of the sofas. "So, what is it that you cannot tell me in the presence of anyone else? Not even Ron and Hermione? And... where are we exactly?
"Last question first. This is the room of requirements. This room appears for anyone who is in great need of it. Dobby told me about it."
Harry nodded. "Alex, why were you in need of it?"
Alex huffed. "I'm just annoyed by everyone and have been holding stuff in that I really want to share and it's just too much! I just need to talk to someone about it all before I burst!"
"You know you can always talk to me Alex. What happened today that had you annoyed? And why'd you miss class?"
Alex rolled her eyes. "How about we start with the cooler stuff. There is so much Justin and I didn't know about our families and it's all unwinding. We talked to our dad a few weeks back. He told us something about my mom's family." She looked at him excitedly.
"Oh?" Harry looked at her curiously.
"You'll never guess who my uncle is!" Alex smiled wider. "Just try to guess!"
"Professor Snape?" Harry asked in doubt. Alex frowned at him in response.
"No. Why would you think that?" She narrowed her eyes at him causing him to turn red.
"Sorry, it's just you're his favorite student and you never get in trouble-" Harry trailed off as his face turned red in embarrassment in response to the look Alex had given him.
"True… but how would Snape influence my not getting in trouble?" She raised an eyebrow at him as he stared at her curiously. Alex watched in anticipation as the look of realization passed over his face. Finally!
"Professor Dumbledore?" Alex nodded with a wide smirk as he continued to stare at her in shock. "How?"
"He's my uncle, my mom's older half-brother. That's why he was at my mom and dad's wedding."
"Wow. That explains a lot." Harry shook his head in amusement.
"What do you mean?" She leaned towards him curiously. She could see how nervous he was at their proximity.
"I mean… you're like the irresistible, cute niece." Harry responded with a blush.
"Do you think that's why Snape lets me get away with stuff too?" Alex asked, not making any attempt to move away from him. They continued to stare at each other as Harry nodded slowly.
"I think that's why you get away with a lot of things... with everyone…" He leaned slightly closer to her, his eyes moving to her lips. "You're cute features and irresistibility works magic on everyone."
Alex continued to stare at him as he moved closer to her. Almost mechanically, her body moved closer to him, causing their lips to only be mere centimeters apart. She smelled the minty scent of the gum he was chewing on their way to the room of requirements. And as they got closer, she started imagining what it would feel like to have his lips on her own. But she should be thinking about something else. Someone else? But what? He was so close to her. She could almost feel his lips on hers. Alex felt Harry's hand on her cheek before their lips touched. Her hands automatically moving into his hairs when there was no more room to get closer. His lips tasted exactly how she imagined them too, like the spearmint gum he always offered her. Fresh and minty, but slightly sweet. Alex liked it. It felt different and comfortable. Comfortable like... like something familiar. It made her think about her first kiss and how the muggle boy didn't compare. But they weren't all bad, there were good ones. Like Cedric. Cedric.
Alex quickly released her hold on Harry's hair and pushed him away from her in horror. Cedric!
Harry stared at her in shock, his voice barely being able to catch up to his brain in response to Alex's quick movement. As she stood up, he could barely get out a word. "Alex-"
Alex didn't dare look at him as she turned quickly and ran towards the exit of the room. Her vision blurred as she exited the room of requirements, but she didn't stop. She ran until she knew she was alone.

Where could that stupid house elf be? Justin continued down another hallway looking for his sister. He had been looking for Alex and Harry during the entirety of the lunch period. What was the use anyway? Who knows what those two could have gotten up to alone. Stupid house elf! Justin turned another corner, stopping abruptly as his eyes fell on one of the two people he was looking for.
"Harry?"
Harry turned around as Justin approached him. "Justin! Have you seen Alex? She and I were talking and she left..." Harry trailed off, his eyes seemingly concerned.
"No, I haven't seen her. I was actually just looking for you both. That house elf Dobby told me you two were together."
"Dobby did?" Harry looked at him. "Nevermind. I need to go find Alex."
"So you and Alex are not together at this very moment?" Harry shook his head. "Works for me. If you find my sister, let her know I was looking for her. I'll be in the library." Justin shrugged as Harry nodded towards him.

Justin closed the textbook in front of him, relieved to have finally finished the last of the Potions reading for the week. That left the rest of the week free for him to focus on other assignments and reading. He might even be able to convince Professor Snape to give him some of the assignments early. Yes, that would be good. He looked up at the clock and was relieved it was only 8:30PM. He had enough time to take notes on the chapter they would be discussing tomorrow in Potions. He could even sticky note some pages if he worked fast enough. He started to pull out some supplies from his book bag and spread them on the table.
"Justin?" He stopped arranging things on the table and looked up to see Ginny standing across from him with her hands behind her back.
"Ginny. What are you doing here so late?" He quickly pulled on his book bag, removing it from the chair beside him and motioned her to take the seat beside him. She smiled at him appreciatively before seating herself on the vacant chair.
"I couldn't focus on my homework. I had other… things on my mind." Ginny looked down at her hands nervously before looking back up at him with a curious expression. "What are you doing here?"
"Homework." He shrugged before pointing towards the stacks of books and papers on the table.
"Then I shouldn't bother you-"
Ginny started to stand back up but he gently took hold of her hands to stop her. She looked down at him in surprise before sitting down, her face turning a little red. "You're fine, I was done."
"Oh, okay." Ginny nodded and looked around the library nervously. He noticed her shoulder relax as her eyes finished scoping the area and returned to him. "So… how was your first day?"
"It wasn't the best day, but I got through it. You?"
"Mine was also… okay. But I-"
"You had things on your mind." He finished for her, giving her a smile. She smiled back weakly before looking down at her hands again. "You can always talk to me about anything... especially if it's something that is bothering you..."
"I know... I just-" Ginny looked at him hesitantly.
Justin watched her as she nervously twirled a few strands of her hair with her index finger. Justin couldn't help thinking something was on her mind... something related to him. He was hoping it was about him. He also had a feeling she was trying to build up the courage to tell him. He continued to watch her as she played with her hair. His eyes went to his lips, the ones she was biting ever so slightly. He'd been thinking about how it would feel like to kiss those lips. He thought about it all summer. He hadn't planned to think about it all summer... it just... happened...
Before he could rethink it, he moved his hands to her cheek. The moment they touched her cheek, her eyes went to his in surprise. He smiled at her warmly as he gently caressed her cheek. She relaxed and smiled back at him softly.
"Ginny… I've had a lot of things on my mind too."
Ginny stopped twirling her hair and locked her eyes with his. "You have?"
"Yes. One of those things happens to be you… I've been thinking a lot about you."
"Really?" Ginny's eyes lit up as she continued to stare into his eyes.
"It's been driving me nuts, I've been impatiently waiting for this."
Ginny raised an eyebrow at him as he leaned in closer to her. "For what?"
He didn't answer. Instead, he leaned in closer to her until his lips touched hers. Do it now before you chicken out. As soon as their lips collided, his mind was only focused on her. The feelings that had been constantly flooding his mind that summer came pouring out as he deepened the kiss. She tasted like peppermint. He remembered she'd once told her she loved anything peppermint. He recalled there were peppermint cookies at dinner.
After a few more amazing seconds he pulled away from her to catch his breath. His hand stayed on her cheek as he looked at her adoringly. All he could hear was his wildly beating heart and their heavy breaths.
"I guess we both will have a lot more on our minds now." He smiled at her before moving his hand to hers.
"Definitely." She nodded before leaning in for another kiss.
