~Everything's Not What It Seems~
Alex and Justin are siblings sent to Hogwarts to learn about magic just like their father. There they meet new friends, fall in love, and find out that truly everything is not what it seems.

As Harry followed Justin into the room they were instructed towards, the realization of what had just happened hit him. He and Justin were going to be a part of the Triwizard Tournament. But how was this even possible? Was it even possible? Surely the ministry wouldn't allow it, they were both too young. As they approached the other three champions, he could see the the mix of surprise and confusion in their eyes. They stayed silent for mere seconds before Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall swiftly entered the room, the other two headmasters following them. Before anyone could say anything, Professor Dumbledore rushed towards him and grabbed him by the collar.
"Did you enter your name in the Goblet of Fire?"
"No sir." Harry gulped as he stared into the headmaster's slightly crazed eyes. He studied Harry hard for a moment before releasing him and heading towards Justin. He grabbed onto Justin's collar just as quickly.
"Did you enter your name in the Goblet of Fire?"
Justin shook his head as he stared back at the headmaster with fear in his eyes. He opened his mouth momentarily to say something but thought against it, letting it close again. Professor Dumbledore didn't waste his time looking at Justin. He released the other Gryffindor and looked at both of them in seriousness.
"It seems as if someone entered both your names into the Goblet of Fire, and you both have been chosen to compete alongside our other three champions."
"But Albus, you can't really be serious. They're just children!" Professor McGonagall gave him a concerned look. Professor Dumbledore looked at her and shook his head sadly.
"There is nothing we can do. The Goblet has chosen it's champions."
"This is preposterous! They cannot compete!" Justin flinched beside him as the Durmstrang headmaster came forward angrily.
"You know the rules, once you are chosen as a champion, you cannot turn back!" Mr. Crouch stepped towards him with a stern look.
"But-"
"What is wrong Igor? Are you afraid that two young children are capable of beating your champion?" Albus looked at him curiously. Harry looked at the others in the room and saw them all staring at the Durmstrang headmaster, waiting for a response. After a long minute, he responded with a frustrated sigh.
"Of course not! But do not expect that my champion will be sympathetic to their age."
"We wouldn't want it any other way." Professor Dumbledore smiled at him before turning away and exiting the room.

Harry and Justin found themselves practically running out of the room when Professor McGonagall dismissed them. Justin didn't even stop to think about telling Cedric about his sister's condition after the announcement of their entry in the tournament. As they made their were out of the room and into the hallways, the pair were quick to notice the angry stares and snide remarks from the other students. He looked at Harry in confusion but Harry just shrugged, motioning them to continue on to their destination. As they approached the infirmary, Justin was relieved to be closer to his sister. Harry and Justin smiled in slight relief as they entered the room, quickly noticing the five redheads huddled together around a cot.
"Alex!"
Justin rushed towards Hermione and the Weaseleys, pushing past the twins as he approached his sister. He smiled in relief as he caught sight of Alex. She was conscious and sitting up on the cot. Her eyes went wide as she saw him approach, a look of surprise that was quickly replaced with one of anger and resentment.
"What are you doing here?" Alex demanded angrily. Justin almost flinched from the harshness in her voice. Was she also angry about the tournament? Because she couldn't enter and he somehow did?
"Alex. I was so worried that something happened to you! I was scared the moment I saw you unconscious beside me. I would have gotten here sooner but Mr. Crouch had this long speech to give to the champions and when it was over we had to wait to be excused by Professor McGonagall. I-"
"Save it!" Justin looked into Alex eyes and saw the seriousness in them as she stared back at him.
"Alex, Justin was-" Harry started but was quickly shushed by Alex, who held up her palm to him dismissively.
"I don't want to hear it! How could you guys just go off and enter the tournament like this? You both lied to me so easily and told me you had no interest in entering this thing!" Alex's voice got louder. She looked at both of them expectantly.
"Alex. I need you to trust me. I-"
"Trust you?" Alex scoffed. "You will never understand how it felt to hear that the three people you care about so much were to be entering a tournament where they could actually get killed! At least Cedric has the skill for it and he grew up in this world. You both barely know anything! You could die!" Justin could see the tears threatening to spill from Alex's eyes as she choked out those last words. He had never seen fear in his sisters eyes like this. It hurt to watch. He tried to reach towards his sister in an attempt to placate her, but she quickly swatted his hand away, looking at him angrily. "Don't touch me. I don't want your pity."
Justin took a step back, holding his hand that stung from Alex's hand. In the few seconds it took for Justin to look down at his hand, Justin missed the quick movement by his little sister.
"Alex, what are you doing?" Hermione asked in panic.
Justin looked back to his sister to find her no longer in bed, instead making her way towards the door. Ginny and Hermione both ran after her as they all wordlessly watched Alex disappear through the door of the infirmary.
"Good job you blokes." George looked at Harry and Justin, shaking his head. "You broke Alex."
~~~~~
Where was he going to find Alex? Justin had figured that Hermione and Ginny would catch up to his sister and convince her to return to the infirmity. After thirty minutes of waiting and many, many snide remarks from Ginny's three older brothers, the two girls returned, to his disappointment, without Alex. No longer interested in listening to the twins and Ron, Justin decided to go for a walk.
"Justin. Justin? Hey Justin!" Justin snapped out of his self pity, turning towards the voice that he'd finally noticed was calling out to him. He smiled as his brother approached him cheerfully.
"Hey Max."
"Justin! Man, I have been looking for you everywhere!" Max stopped In front of him, crossing his arms over his chest. "I'd actually been calling after your for the longest time. Where's your head?"
"Did you need something Max?" Justin began to tap his foot impatiently as he stared at his younger brother.
"Right… so there are a lot of people who are not happy with you and Harry right now."
"Really? Jeez, I hadn't noticed." Justin rolled his eyes as he folded his arms over his chest.
"Well… I'm just letting you know, I am not angry with you. I am actually rooting for the both of you!" Max's lips spread into a big grin as he looked at Justin.
No matter how annoying his brother could be, he always knew how to be supportive and lighten the mood. He couldn't help but smile back at his brother. At least there was one friendly face for him to look forward to, beside Ginny of course, through this competition. Alex, Ron, Fred and George didn't seem to be happy with Justin and Harry at that moment. Though it seemed to Justin that Ron was angrier at Harry and was taking it out on the both of them. Fred and George were just ticked off that they had failed to enter the tournament themselves. Though, Justin wouldn't say their anger was really justified. It wasn't like Harry and Justin had any idea how their names got entered in the goblet in the first place.
"Thanks Max." Justin finally responded, smiling at his brother. "Hey, so have you seen Alex around?"
"No. Actually, I was about to head to the infirmary to check on her when I saw you heading away from that direction. Is she okay?"
Justin had forgotten about Max with all the madness of the tournament and his sister. Now he wondered why Max wasn't in the infirmity with Alex. "Hey Max, where were you after Alex fainted?"
"I was going to head after them, but everyone was sent to their rooms after what happened so the ministry could investigate. Things got loud in the Great Hall after your guys lefts so Professor Snape made the decision to send everyone away to calm down. We just got the announcement that we were free to roam the castle again. Is Alex okay?" Justin could see the worry in Max's eyes as he looked at him. Max didn't show many emotions beyond joy, so in the rare occasions he did, it was hard not to notice.
"I think she's fine. I saw her a little while ago. She was capable of yelling at me and running out of the infirmary… since she did do both..."
"She what?" Max's eyes went wide as he looked at Justin.
"She is kind of upset with Harry and me… for being in the tournament. Not that we can help it…"
Max looked at Justin in concern. "I'm sorry Alex is upset with you. I guess all I can do is wish you good luck on placating her. But I guess you can't blame her, considering everything..."
"What do you mean?" Justin looked at his brother curiously.
"Didn't Alex tell you? Her and Cedric got into a fight a few days ago over him entering his name in the Goblet of Fire. It was a whole scene out in the courtyard before class. My friend Theo was there and caught the whole thing. He said that Alex stormed off after the argument. Cedric has been pretty torn up about it since."
"Wait... what? Alex and Cedric are still not talking? When did this happen?" Justin had heard about their fight that morning from Ginny. He had assumed they had made up by now. He must have not noticed with all the time he had been spending with Ginny.
"Uhh... the first day of the term? It was before classes even started. In the morning. I actually saw her after their fight but couldn't catch up to her because she was walking away so quickly."
So this was why Alex was in such an off mood that morning. And why she started the fire. It was because she was mad that Cedric had entered the tournament. This was definitely a turn of events he was not expecting
"Anyway... I guess since Alex is not in the infirmity, there is no use for me to go there. I need to go pick up a book from the library so my friends and I can finish our project. Guess I'll catch you later." Max shrugged. "Bye Justin!"
"Bye." Justin barely got out as he continued to process this new information.
This was odd for Alex. She usually loved danger and the idea of entering the tournament would have thrilled her. He was surprised she didn't join Fred and George in their terrible attempts to enter. And he was even more surprised that Alex was getting into disagreements with her boyfriend over entering the tournament. How exactly was he going to make amends with his sister over this if there was no way of him getting out of this tournament?
~~~~~
Alex groaned as the warmth of the sun and the bright light from it hit her skin. She loved the warmth of the sun. But she hated the sunlight. It meant it was morning time. Alex hated the morning. She frowned as she took a long deep breath, allowing her body to adjust to the idea of having to get up. You just need to get through today and it would be time for the weekend. She opened her eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the new brightness. When her vision finally came to, she was surprised to find herself laying in a quiet unfamiliar place. This is definitely not the Gryffindor fourth year dormitory...
"Where am I?"
She examined the area around her. She was in a pretty decent size room, slightly smaller than the one she had in Waverley Place but still a decent size. The walls were covered with a dark brown wood that went from the floor to halfway up the wall. The upper half was covered with an antique dark purple-colored wallpaper. The room was mostly bare, except for the few pieces of furniture. A black wooden bed with black sheets and a large purple comforter. A black wooden dresser and nightstand on either side of the bed. There was a matching desk in the corner, blocking the way to a window. Black velvet curtains hanging from them. Antique wasn't really her style, but for some reason, she liked the room.
This definitely couldn't be hogwarts... it was too homey. Was it possible that she wasn't at Hogwarts anymore? No, how would she have escaped Hogwarts without she even remembering it? But then... where was she?
She looked around the room again, hoping to find some clue, any clue, that gave her an inkling of where she was. It felt so familiar, so homey. As she continued to scan the room, her eyes stopped momentarily on the desk again. Now noticing the piece of parchment sitting flat on the surface. Alex made her way off the bed as her stayed on the piece of parchment. She slowly walked over to it, scanning the room as she did this. As she approached, her eyes immediately recognized the handwriting to be her own. Interesting.
You are where you desire to be. –Alex.
