Alex and Justin are siblings sent to Hogwarts to learn about magic just like their father. There they meet new friends, fall in love, and find out that truly everything is not what it seems.

"Well that's just great. That's definitely getting to Dumbledore." Alex frowned as she led Cedric to an empty hallway near the Great Hall. She stopped and turned towards him before leaning back against a wall.
Cedric looked at her in confusion. "Why would Professor Snape tell the headmaster he found us snogging in the courtyard?"
"Because he tells Professor Dumbledore everything I do." Alex crossed her arms over her chest. "You know how I told you about my real dad over the summer?"
"Yes." Cedric nodded as he made his way towards her and wrapped his arm around her waist. "As I recall, I told you I didn't care who your father was. I just care about you."
Alex smiled at him before pecking him quickly on the cheek. "Thank you, I do remember that." Alex sighed. "So... there was something else I learned later in the summer... about my mom."
"Your father finally told you more about her?"
Alex nodded. "Yes he did. So apparently I have uncles." Alex hesitated as Cedric stared at her patiently. "Professor Dumbledore is my uncle."
"Sure, Alex. And Cornelius Fudge is my dad." Cedric laughed as looked at Alex. When she didn't say anything, his amused expression dropped. He dropped his hands from Alex's waist and took a step back as he stared at her in shock. "You are seriously telling me that the headmaster of Hogwarts is your uncle?"
"Yes." Alex frowned. "You didn't seem to care about my dad but my uncle bothers you?"
"If you say your father is not a murderer, then I believe you. Any father of yours could never be bad." Cedric smiled at her. "But... your uncle is the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardy. You do realize how intimidating that is, right?"
Alex smiled at Cedric as she took a step forwards and wrapped her arms around his neck. "You have nothing to worry about. You are literally the dream boyfriend every father, uncle, or godfather would want to see their daughter with."
Cedric looked at her in amusement. "Dream boyfriend?"
"Absolutely! And you do realize that he's known I'm his niece longer than I have known he is my uncle. I'm pretty sure as headmaster of this school, he knows exactly what we have been up to. Also... in case you forgot, my godfather is a werewolf. I'm pretty sure no one is scarier than him." Alex smiled at him.
"You make a good point." Cedric wrapped his arms around Alex's waist again. "Professor Lupin likes me, right?"
"He does, I can confirm that." Alex smiled. "Anyway... I guess we should probably get you back to the ball."
"Isn't it my job to say that?" Cedric laughed.
"Nope, not today. You're a TriWizard Champion so you're a really important person at the Yule Ball... obviously. Everyone is probably wondering where you are as we speak." Alex pulled away from Cedric and took his hand in her own. He rolled his eyes at her as she started to pull him towards the Great Hall.
"I thought dances weren't your thing?"
"They aren't." Alex stopped and turned her head towards him with a smile. "But you are, so I'll manage this time."
~~~~~
"Did you find Alex and Harry?" Ginny asked as Justin approached her. He shook his head dejectedly as he stopped in front of his girlfriend and held out his arm.
"A dance?"
"I'd enjoy that." She smiled, accepting his arm.
They walked to the dance floor together as the music changed to a slow one. Justin smiled as he wrapped an arm around Ginny's waist, and took one of her hands in his own.
"I thought you said you were going to trail Harry."
"I did. He wasn't with Alex though. I'm not actually sure where Alex is right now. Although, according to Harry, Alex and Cedric seem to have made up."
"Well that should make you happy right? You wanted them to make amends." Ginny smiled at Justin as he released his hold on her waist to spin her.
"I did... I just didn't think it would actually happen." Justin sighed. "Harry seemed to be disappointed. He was hoping they would break up."
"Well Harry fancies Alex so that isn't very surprising."
"I just wish he would fancy her a little less. She's in a relationship with someone else." Justin sighed. "I still don't know if I should tell my dad about all this."
"About everything that's happened with Alex and Harry?"
"And with Alex and myself. Last time he heard from us, we were all on good terms. I'm not sure if I want to worry him more. Though I don't know how much Remus could be telling dad. I know Alex talks to Remus ever since she found out he's her godfather." Justin frowned.
"Maybe you should try talking to Alex first. Try to make amends." Ginny suggested.
"She's been avoiding me all week. Not that I've been any more eager to run into her." Justin sighed. "Do you think I'm being too overbearing of a brother?"
"You are rather protective...I-" Ginny hesitated.
"What?"
"Well... I sometimes wonder if maybe you had stayed out of it... maybe Alex would actually be with Harry right now instead of with Cedric. Even the other day when you both got into it... it wasn't really your business..."
"You mean it's my fault Alex isn't with Harry?" Justin looked at Ginny with disbelief.
"No! You know that's not what I meant! We don't actually know what would have happened. Cedric has always fancied Alex. I just... wonder sometimes."
"Maybe..." Justin frowned to himself as he spun Ginny briefly away from himself.
"Justin."
"Huh?" He looked at his girlfriend curiously as she stared past him.
"It's Alex. She's back."
Justin gently turned himself and Ginny so he could look in the opposite direction. He searched the crowd a bit before his eyes fell on his sister on the other side of the dance floor with Cedric. He looked back at Ginny who gave him a pointed look.
"Do you mind if-"
"I wouldn't but maybe you hold off until tomorrow. Look at them."
Justin retuned his attention to his sister. He smiled to himself as he watched Alex laugh happily as Cedric whispered something in her ear.
"You're right. It can wait until tomorrow."
~~~~~
"Thanks for letting me walk you to the door." Cedric turned to Alex with a smile as they stopped outside the Gryffindor common rooms. He squeezed her hand that was entwined with his as they walked from the Great Hall.
"It's hardly something to thank me for. Now you have a long walk back."
"I don't mind it." Cedric said, stepping closer to Alex as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Tonight didn't go even the slightest bit how I expected... and I'm happy for that."
"So am I." Alex laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck. "If you had asked me this morning where I would be at this time, I'd tell you in bed."
"Well I for one am glad that is not the case."
"Me too." She smiled.
"Can I see you tomorrow morning? I'd love to give you your Christmas gift."
"You still got me something?"
"Of course." Cedric smiled. "I actually came upon it before the start of this term. I could barely wait to give it to you."
"But I didn't get you anything." Alex frowned.
"I don't need anything." Cedric kissed her forehead. "Knowing that you love me is the best gift you could have ever given me."
"How are you so perfect?"
"Comes with the 'dream boyfriend' charm." Cedric teased. "I should probably leave now so you can get some sleep. I'll come find you after breakfast tomorrow? I have a quidditch meeting over breakfast tomorrow, otherwise I would have joined you."
"That's okay, after breakfast is fine." Alex pulled Cedric's towards her for a quick kiss. He smirked as he pulled away.
"I love you Alex."
"I love you too."
Cedric gave her another short kiss before pulling away and walking down the staircase. She sighed happily as he disappeared down the maze of stairs.
"Alex?"
Alex turned as the familiar voice approached her. She stopped in surprise as her eyes fell on Hermione, tears streaming down her cheeks
"Oh Hermione, what happened?" She approached her friend who was making her way up another set of stairs.
"Ron! He ruined everything!"
Alex sighed. Of course he did. "Come here." She wrapped her arms around her friend, leading her towards the Fat Lady. "Let's get you into some pajamas and some hot cocoa. We can go make fun of Ron until we run out of things to say about him."
"Alex!" Hermione stopped, looking at her with surprise. She smirked as Hermione tried to hold back a smile.
"Come on! It'll make you feel better. And you know there's a lot to make fun of. He's Ron!"
"He's our friend!" Hermione responded.
"Sometimes... you have to make fun of your friends. It's for a good cause. Come on."
"Fine. But I want extra marshmallows." She looked at Alex seriously.
"Deal."
Not really a productive chapter... but I was feeling it.
